“Plan to re-visit for a longer stay”
My husband and I were married on the beach at this hotel. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside. The entire staff went above and beyond in accomodating us and making us feel like royalty; though our stay was just for one night before we boarded a cruise ship the following afternoon for our honeymoon. Complimentary champagne and strawberries were waiting in our room. The entire event was so relaxed and enjoyable thanks to the entire staff at this hotel. We definitely plan a return visit, when we can enjoy an entire week there. Our memories will last forever. Thank you.
“Always an in place to be!”
What can we say, The 1939 renovated National Hotel in South Beach is right near Lincoln road restaurant's, on the beach and new boardwalk and a very nice mid size hotel. The back restaurant terrasse is comfortable, elegantly furnished and a very pleasant area to sit and have breakfast. The buffet needs a little work and is a little overpriced as with the National's drinks at the pool area. A repositioning of that will enhance revenue for them considering there is a resort fee. The beach chair service adds value to the stay and is appreciated. Thk you National Hotel for letting Expedia buy some rooms and permitting the leisure traveler a nice stay! Room furniture most comfortable!!! Cheers from Montreal et à bientot!
“Wonderful ambiance, fantastic staff!”
We recently spent 3 nights at The National hotel. It was a wonderful hotel and the staff were so helpful, I was extremely impressed. The valet was expensive at $35 per night, but the location is great so you can walk to everything ( Lincoln rd and the hotel is on the beach). We definitely plan to stay there again!
“Great stay”
The staff was very friendly- especially the bell staff and the waiters at the restaurant on-site, called Tamara. Great pool and lounge area, although most of my time was spent on the beach. The exercise room on site was well equipped but very small. Great location- close to Ocean Drive, shopping, clubs, and other great restaurants and bars.
“4 star hotel with 5 star service.”
We upgraded to the cabana wing so we could have a balcony. Very good choice. The room was great and very comfy. Shower rocked and I'm a sucker for a fluffy robe. The best part of the hotel is the staff, nobody told us no for five days, how cool is that? It's totally lame at night but with the Delano next door, it doesn't matter. We ended up next door at some point every night and had a blast. Hot bartenders that are also nice,it doesn't get much better than that. Can't wait to go back.
“A perfect Miami place to stay”
We booked two Cabana rooms with balconies overlooking the stunning long swimming pool. We were after 1920s ambience with great taste yet modern facilites, reasonable tarif, good service and accessible location re the South Beach buzz. We got it and more. The location was brilliant for exploring South Beach. We took buffet breakfasts, relatively priced, and ate 3 nights at the hotel as one of our party was confined to the room with a very bad dose of flu but even he was happy to spend his sick days in such a comfy bed and beautiful surroundings. We would stay again if we could be sure to get Cabana rooms.
“Fantastic!”
We have recently returned from Miami where we stayed at National hotel. It was a great place to stay; tasteful decor, comfortable environment, amazing pool, courteous and helpful staff and ideally located close to the beach and only a walk away from Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. We didn't drink in the hotel's bar but did drink poolside which was a little bit on the expensive side but worth it - the pool staff were very friendly without being intrusive. We had a corner room so had extra windows but the rooms are decorated in such a way that they feel light and airy - and anyway, there's so much out there, why stay in your room the whole time?! We had a fab time and would recommend the National to anyone.
“A classy place”
What I like about the National is that it is not a hyped up trendy hotel. It feels like you are in Miami Beach of the 1940's. The warmth of its interiors and landscape is unpretentious and relaxing. The service staff are very courteous and you can see they have been train well. In fact in talking to a few of the porters, I learned that many have been working there 8-10 years. You get the feeling they really like it there. This positive additude made my wife and I very welcoming. Management really keep the hotel in good condition. The new improvement at the area around the pool bar is getting better with a new teak wood deck that was under construction when we were there. Our only complaint is that we wish they had an outdoor jacuzzi/hot tub to soak in. Maybe one day they will build one along the new deck.
“I am ready to go back now”
The staff was very attentive to our needs and were always asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, however, the only thing I think one should be aware of is if they are a light sleeper do not stay in a cabana room because you can hear the music way into the night. For me, however, it was not a problem and I would stay in a cabana room again if I were unable to obtain a suite.
“Beautiful hotel in a great location”
My girlfriend and I found the National (need to work on that name guys!) incredibly luxurious and in fabulous surroundings. The breathtaking "infinity pool" set the scene and our room in the Cabana wing certainly did not disappoint (the terrace was certainly worth the extra cash). The service was also fantastic with a member of staff easily available any time of the day or night.
