“cant wait to go back!”

Great hotel! just what we were looking for. comfortable and the staff was very friendly. not the fanciest hotel but who goes to south beach to stay in a hotel room? i would definitely go back!!

“Lovely people, great location, midway twixt hotel and motel”

This was a very reasonably priced midweek stay. There is a patio where you can have drinks and smoking. A made-to-go continental breakfast is included. The front desk is manned by invariably friendly people who will sign out beach towels to you (public beach with no fees is less than a block away). In the morning, a very pleasant gentleman opens the front door helping you in and out. If only the corridors were updated! The striped carpeting is worn, and the doors are not solid feeling. From the hallway, it seems like a beach bungalow or such. Thus the lower end motel feel. BUT...you turn the key and step into the invitingly cool (window air conditioning units) room, painted a deep red and with decoratively painted dark wood furniture, European framed posters, and very modern looking bathroom with nice toiletries. There is a CRT television and an alarm clock. I was given a reservation for a superior king room and paid in advance. On arrival at 6PM, the last room available was a "queen" although it looked like a double. I didn't complain, but I was disappointed. The next day, the front desk told me that the reservation was for a king bed, but that a queen was "the same!" If not expecting luxury, this is a clean, very well situated hotel. Reasonable dining is nearby and Lincoln Street shopping a modest walk away. I'd go back again, but not for a special occasion.

“Great hotel and amazing location”

The South Beach Plaza had great service and was located close to everything, i.e. beach, restaurants, night life. By "close to everything," I mean literally a block away from anything you could need. At the same time, it is on Collins Ave instead of a block up on Ocean Drive which means that it's not loud and noisy. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond to any inquiries or issues. The hotel also has a great outdoors seating area and a garden. The front porch is very relaxing for those times when you need to sit and take a break. The back garden features a Tikki Bar with a DJ every evening, which encourages you to get out and experience the South Beach night life. All in all, it was both relaxing and close to all the entertainment. I would definitely stay there again..........!

“Miami Beach getaway”

Booked through Expedia and my chek-in was absolutely quick and smooth. The secret is we arrived around 4pm (in one hour after official check-in time).. I was very very impressed what a perfect choice I made when booked South Beach Plaza Hotel. Great location, helpful personnel and very clean room, that’s all what I usually need during my vacation.. I don’t even care about breakfast (It was ok tho... Yogurt, muffin, apple/orange, bagel&cream&jam, juice/coffee - I think it’s enough for early breakfast on Miami Beach if you don’t want to spend money). But for me Porch Cafe and Mojito Lounge was a great substitute for having later breakfast next two days.. The only negative moment was the shower, it was a bit broken or something, in other words wasn’t work properly but I wasn’t really concern ‘coz we still could take a shower anytime. What else.. Location is absolutely worth it! Close to Espanola way (very impressed), Linkoln rd (not impressed), Collins ave stores and boutiques... And don’t forget to walk to the south point of South Beach, especially at the night time - gorgeous view at Miami downtown, and a great Mercury restaurant on your way back.

“Best Place I've Stayed in SOBE so far!”

Boy oh boy, the South Beach Plaze was awesome! 4 of us girls took our usual 4 night trip down to Miami, and we booked 2 rooms (because SOBE hotels are a lot smaller than any other hotels)! The hotel lobby, bar, and outside patio were almost better than the pictures can show. Especially the outside courtyard, oh my gosh is was so cute and really made our stay feel like we were at a nice resort!--I don't even rememebr seeing pictures of the patio on the hotel's website. The rooms were decent size for 2 people. There are acutally 2 mirrors--one full length--which is a real treat in SOBE. The A/C was great, the room didn't have any kind of odor, we usually kept the window open a little (which is also a luxury in SOBE--to be able to open the windows is pretty exciting)! Location was perfect, 1.5 blocks to the beach, 1.5 blocks to Mansion and Cameo...Nikki beach is only 1 mile. The staff was terrific--We checked in on a Thursday morning at 10am and I guess they had rooms available b/c they let us right in (normally check-in isn't until 3pm). There was always 2 or three guys working the front desk/lobby/bar area, and they were more than helpful and super friendly. Upon check out a very nice doorman ordered us a van cab, and even waited 30 minutes past his working hours to make sure it showed up for us! Best experience I've had in SOBE.

“Amazing hotel (especially for the price).”

First time at this hotel. The hotel is 45 seconds away from the beach. Super nice staff and tidy hotel. The room was very good, clean and not smelly. Breakfast included muffins, bagels, OJ, coffee, tea, jams and all kind of fruits. Very nice to start the day. Strongly suggest to grab a daily bus-pass (5$) at 559 Washington street and go on discovering this beautiful area. Hotel also includes free internet (WiFi) and towel service (pretty much as many as you want). One thing that is less convenient is that there was no fridge in the room, but then it's a hotel, they don't have to put one. Price-wise, I think that they did more than what you paid for. The outside "terrasse" is thoughtfully decorated, with chairs, tables, couches, etc. At night, there is some nice music playing there and the bar is open (not open-bar though :) ). I really enjoyed my stay there and will definitely stay there again, when I'm back to Miami!!!

“Very Comfortable”

We had one of the king rooms facing the garden terrace - it was a spacious room and the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaints were that the room had no refrigerator, and the hot water in the shower would often suddenly get too hot. Other than that, the hotel amenities (complimentary glass of wine each afternoon, free use of beach towels, friendly and helpful staff, excellent valet service) made our stay there over a VERY busy holiday weekend quite enjoyable. One of the best parts, for us, was the total non-smoking policy (even in the bar area!). We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Very nice hotel, perfect location within waling distance to everything Staff was excellent, room very very clean. TV did not work, maintenance had it going in less than one (1) hour

The Hotel is not fancy but has everything close by...best place to party is at Mangos cafe its a blast!!!great shops on Lincoln Rd.and great latin food at Puerto Sagua/O"Mexico on Espanola way 2mins. from Hotel.The staff at this Hotel is amazing always willing to help u out and always with great attitudes.
