“A Must-Stay!”
The Indian Creek Hotel is fantastic! A very short walk to Miami beach, yet away from the loud hustle & bustle. It has a very historic feel. Rich colors and antique furniture are everywhere. The hotel's best kept secret is definitely its garden! This beautiful enclosed area will make you feel as if you're in a jungle; with a pool, bar, and ping-pong table for your enjoyment! ;) My friend and I can't wait to stay here again!
“Great quality for the price”
Situated north of South Beach, the hotel is only a block away from the beach and about a 30 min walk from the touristic area (ie Lincoln Av). The Hotel is old, and renovation maintained its authentic appeal. It has most of the amenities one would expect in a more expensive establishment. It is clean, the staff is very nice, and the rooms well maintained (though not luxiourious/frivoulous). Only complaint is that like most hotel in Miami there is no "heat" so if you travel when temperature is going to be below 65 at night: make sure to ask for a personal heater avail at the desk. Free breakfast is "ok" and simple. Hotel restaurant is hit/miss but is Zagat rated pretty high. There is a "cantina" as well as a great italian restaurant one street away. Pool is well kept and heated. Will return without a doubt.
“Can't wait to go back”
My 3rd stop at Indian Creek as always a very enjoyable stay . Clean room And friendly staff . Will stop there again the next time I am in Miami Beach The only negative thing was the AC time up buy new ones I think But overall great place to stay at a good price
“Beautiful, clean and friendly!”
I went with my boyfriend for a spur of the moment weekend trip. The staff were the friendliest I have ever encountered (and I travel A LOT for work), and extremely accommodating. The pool and the back garden were absolutely beautiful and serene, and the restaraunt was incredible. We had a delicious and healthy brunch both mornings with amazing cocktails, and peaceful atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful, comfortable stay.
“Very Impressed!”
This was my second trip to Miami Beach and this time I had a friend who'd never been. So there was a lot of pressure for me to find the right hotel within distance to everything. This was the place! It was easy to find. The staff at the front desk was very courteous and informative especially about the parking situation. The hotel was very clean and inviting. We did not eat at the restaurant downstairs but the food definitely smelled great! The continental breakfast was impressive. Our room was clean and overlooked the pool area. At night it was very beautiful. We were not bothered by other guests or traffic (probably since our window was facing inside). Depending on your physical condition, the location of this hotel may be considered too much of a walk for some. The only thing you need to be aware of is the construction on Collins Ave. if you decide to walk to Lincoln Road. My only comment regarding this hotel is the outlets. Since we are two females, we had the bathroom outlet to share for items such as the curling iron/blow dryer and iron for our clothes. The other outlets were being used by lamps and hidden by furniture too heavy for us to move. Do keep in mind that this hotel is an older structure like most of the hotels on Miami Beach. If you enjoy the history of a place, then this shouldn't be a factor in making a decision to stay here. I would definitely return for another stay and for more than just a night!
“Great little place”
I have stayed here several times and will keep going back. First, understand this is not a 5 star hotel in the heart of things, but if you want to stay near the action and not on top of it, this is a great place. The rooms are clean and the staff is really nice - it has everything you need and nothing you don't. All the action of South Beach is either a healthy walk or short cab ride away, and you have a quiet place to relax after a long day and night out without breaking the budget. Highly recommend if you're not seeking luxury but would like a decent place to call home base for your trip. For reference, I've also stayed at many places in Miami Beach including Loews, Doubletree Surfcomber, Beach Place, and Deauville, and for the $ this is the best value I've found.
“Great Hospitality”
It's a small hotel with not much in the way of amenities, but the people are very friendly. The free continental breakfast was fine for us. In fact, we missed it one day and the next day the maid knocked on the door to make sure we didn't miss it the next day. The people at the reception were helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. The bathroom is small, but I didn't have a problem with it, probably because mine is even smaller!
“Great Hotel on a Budget”
Great little hotel with alot of charm. Nice private pool area and garden, very nice restaurant and nice clean rooms. No continental breakfast as stated, but thats ok. Great service, they were more than helpful. 30 min walk to main South Beach area but 1 block from a beach that is just as nice and the boardwalk. Only 6 or 7 TV chanels, but youre in Miami, why watch TV. Great for couples that want something nice but not over the top. I would stay there again without question.
“Friendly, affordfable off South Beach hotel with Pool”
Stayed here for Friday & Saturday at each end of a 9 day trip to South Beach as I couldn't find an reasonable priced hotel on South beach itself at weekends. Hotel is about 10 blocks (20 minute walk or $2 bus/$8 taxi ride) from South Beach proper but in return you get a $60 dollar a night saving plus the advantage of a pool - you makes the choice. The staff were very helpful & friendly. The restoration of the hotel was very funky and the quietness of the area during the day was in many ways made up for by the lack of South Beach noise as the clubs empty etc. Also the only Miami beach hotel I have stayed at that offered any kind of inclusive breakfast which, though basic, was a worthwhile saving on eating out all the time. Would I stay here next time? Think I would do the same as this trip. Try to find an decent affordable hotel in South Beach itself but if/when that wasn't possible I'd chose this hotel over a dirty/flee ridden or run down place on South beach any day & spend part of the saving on bus/taxi fares when the walk got a bit too much. Or try half & half. Location & Pool.
“Great affordable hotel in good location”
The Indian Creek hotel was brilliant. The Art Deco style really shines through yet the decor has been updated to give the rooms a modern and cosy feel. It's about 20 mins walk to the main South Beach/Ocean Drive area, but plenty of buses stop just next to the hotel to take you up there for $2 per person (have the correct change as they don't have any on the bus), or you can splash out on a taxi for around 10 dollars. You can also access Downtown Miami, North Beach and the Aventura Mall very easily by bus, each trip costs the same $2 one way. The only negative point we found was that our room overlooked the pool area at the back, which is great to look out at however in the evening the terrace fills up with restaurant diners. Generally the noise was kept to low conversation but the odd person who seemed unaware of the volume of their own voice made it difficult to sleep. For this reason if you are intending to sleep earlier than around 11pm I would ask for a room which doesn't overlook this area. I imagine most people wouldn't have a problem staying up later than this in Miami but I am pregnant so not up for partying and late nights! Other than that we loved the hotel and were very happy with the service and staff we encountered. The hotel is in a mainly residential area and there are few restaurants within 10-15 mins walk. There is an Italian around the corner next to the supermarket on Collins Ave which was lovely. For any real choice you need to head towards South Beach.
