Decent hotel near the airport.Posted 9-Sep-2014
Pros: Free shuttle from the airport and free breakfast included in the rate.
Cons: The front staff.
Location: Burlington Coat Factory, lots of fast food options and a great Italian restaurant across the street.
This was my second time at this hotel - first experience was better - rooms are clean and comfortable - breakfast is decent - airport shuttle runs every 30 min - front staff this time were definitely not as helpful.

Pleasant StayPosted 29-Aug-2014
Location: It is near the airport and also some great Cuban restaurants. The expressways are near so you can reach wherever you need to go in minutes.
I visit Miami periodically and have found this hotel exactly what I need. It is convenient to my sister's condo which is perfect. I don't need the airport transportation, however. It runs beginning at 5:00 AM. The staff has always been pleasant and eager to please and help.

Great hotel!Posted 23-Aug-2014
I highly recommend this hotel! It is beautiful, spotless, and gives good quality service to their guests. The staff is helpful, kind, and will get out of their way to help their guests. They provide breakfast to their guests every morning from 6am-10am and I found out during my stay that they also give a complimentary lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. They serve their good quality food in a buffet style and have many options to choose from. The only downside I had with the hotel was the parking and it's location. The parking is very limited for such a big hotel, but not to worry. They can give you a parking pass to park in front of the hotel if there are no spots left. There is a lot of traffic in that area so plan your day accordingly. On a positive note, the hotel is close to Miami beach and I highly recommend going there or hanging around the poolside for the day! I will definitely come back to this hotel. Thanks Hampton inn of the Blue Lagoon!

Excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staffPosted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: Everything (apart from the glitch getting the shuttle from the airport).
Cons: Make the airport shuttles more easily identifiable and differentiable from other shuttles (e.g., by increasing the size of the identification decals).
I had a difficult time identifying the shuttle to take me from the airport to the hotel. That was partially my fault as I wasn't sure where was the ideal spot to lookout for it, but the shuttles are also very difficult to identify, especially at night. Anyway, travelling with my 5 year old son and taking almost 2 hours to get the shuttle, I wasn't in a very good mood when I finally got to the hotel. However, the welcome from the hotel staff (especially an African-American gentleman who did the actual check-in procedure) elevated my mood. Conversing during check-in, I indicated that only my son would be sleeping as I had a lot of work to get done. I was pleasantly surprised when my room was upgraded to a larger one with more convenient facilities and recommendations made for delicious microwavable food from the kiosk.

Welcome,,,,and unexpected elegance!Posted 1-Jul-2014
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness, economy, and attitudes.
Cons: Cannot think of any negatives....even after trying.
Location: Great Latin-American ambiance.....easy drives to Little Havana and Miami Beach.
This was my second visit in the past six weeks....both times attached to MIA and my daughter's flights to-and-from Italy. On this second occasion I briefly considered accommodations on Miami Beach but, recalling the comfortable experience of my first trip, chose the comfort and economy of this unique Hampton Inn. Once again, I was not disappointed. The staff was professional, pleasant, and effortlessly attentive. While still on the road from Tampa to Miami, I called ahead to inquire if it was possibly for my daughter to check into our room prior to my own arrival and check-in. Signor Austin (the evening front-desk manager) gathered the appropriate information and received my family member when the complimentary shuttle-bus delivered her to the hotel...thus relieving me of any sense of urgency on my drive to the airport area. Signor Luis Rodriguez, the night security guard, was bright-eyed and sharp....even arranging for extra blankets and pillows for our room when he heard that we added an extra daughter to the original travel entourage. White, clean, and comfortable beds and pillows,.....picture window with views of Blue Lagoon and flights....good gym....fascinating Latino middle-class neighborhood....and genuinely pleasant staff. This Hampton Inn and Suites is a class-act. Gracias!
