“Good location”

Hotel was nice. Rooms were old but decorated nicely. Our toilet overflowed but it was handled quickly.

“Art Deco Gem”

We stayed in the Essex in November and had a wonderful time there. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly, including the hotel bartender who kept us entertained during daily happy hours. The location couldn't be beat. My only complaint is that the shower was not very well designed. Every shower left the bathroom floor soaked. Another hotel we stayed at in South Beach had the same flaw, so it seems to be a theme. I just would have preferred not to have to use all the extra towels to dry the floor everyday, but aside from that, it was a comfortable stay.

“great location but noise carries”

Stylish quirky hotel Room decor a bit tired but very clean & great service from cleaners & desk staff Some noisy guest on our floor and the noise really carried & woke us up There was also some noise from surrounding bars Walking distance from great shops & restaurants

“Great value & perfect location”

This is a beautiful Art Deco hotel at the heart of South Beach. The location is perfect: while it couldn't be more central in Miami Beach it is located one block away from Ocean Drive and its noisy bars and clubs. So, very close to the beach but far enough from the noise so that you can sleep at night. I asked for a quiet room when making the reservation and it was indeed pretty quiet with the exception of the occasional (and ubiquitous) noisy guest that makes too much noise in the hallway while coming back from the party. The rooms are decently comfortable with a simple but stylish decor. The hotel lobby and outside lounge are attractive and comfortable and the service was spotless: very professional and helpful. Apart from a few details that could be improved (such as lack of a soap holder at the bathtub) and a somewhat stuffy atmosphere in the rooms (probably due to the high humidity outside), this hotel is great value.

“Very convinent and excellent customer service”

It's was very close to everything. The people were extremely nice and made us feel comfortable. They had cab service arrange for us. The only bad thing I can say is that the walls were hollow but that was minor to me! Besides that I would go bk.

“Great service and comfortable rooms”

The beds are wonderful, the staff is very helpful, and the wake up calls are on time. We had very loud neighbors, but this is South Beach. I recommend the Essex House without reservation.

“SoBe's little Gem! Affordable, Friendly, Fun & Great Service!”

Hotel was in great location, one block from the beach & just blocks from all the restaurants & boutiques. Every staff at the hotel was friendly and attentive. They value your stay & your comfort. I would absolutely recommened Essex Hotel. The room was spacious, modern and super comfortable beds. This hotel is suited for couples, young professionals & families. As it is fun & chic but not loud nor crazy. They show movies on the big screen on the patio & have daily happy hours. I will go back!
