This renovated (2008) Art Deco hotel is a retreat for guests aged 21 and older. The beach is a short two blocks away. Many of South Beach's hottest restaurants and nightclubs are within a half-mile. Based on availability, the front desk can occasionally arrange VIP access to popular nightclubs such as Prive and Pearl (surcharges).
In addition to beach activities, guests can relax and refresh in the lushly landscaped courtyard pool. Wireless Internet access is complimentary.

An outdoor pool is in a courtyard surrounded by lush foliage. Use of beach and pool towels is complimentary.
The white-sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean are a short two-block stroll. Shops along the beach can outfit beach-goers with personal watercraft, volleyballs, snorkeling gear, and other water-sports equipment. Flamingo Park, five blocks away on the beach, has tennis and basketball courts. The Miami Beach Golf Club is two miles away.

“Very Clean, Less than a block form the Beach”
Comfortable, Clean, and convenient...staff was friendly, room was nice, location was perfect...would def recommend
“Very Stylish and comfortable hotel”
This hotel is in a great location and has all the benefits of being able to use the facilities of the sister hotel next door, whilst also benefiting from being a lot quieter than it's counterpart! Very stylish and great cocktails available at the bar.
“Great Experience”
We stayed for 5 days for our anniversary and had a wonderful time at the Essex. The atmosphere is lovely, including a beautiful courtyard, charming lobby, bar and patio. Our room ("suite") was large and comfortable. There were a few minor issues (somewhat dim, pillows a bit thick) but the bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi was great! The best part is the staff - they were incredibly helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
“Great hotel!”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Essex House Hotel. Staff was super friendly and everything from vallet parking to receptionists worked like a charm. Such professional all-around service with a great atmosphere. To be honest, we didn't expect all this with this price. It's granted this will be our hotel of choice once we go back to Miami!
“PERFECT”
This hotel was just perfect. The location couldn't be better, it was right near restaurants, clubs, bars, and the beach. Attached to the Cleavelander made for a perfect spot to hang out. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We would never stay anywhere else in Miami.

“Great hotel”
Lots of amenities - continental breakfast, covered front porch from which you can eat breakfast or sip cocktails, beach chairs, free cocktail drink. Only drawback is the hotel next door which plays loud music all night long.

“Great location for being close to the party, but not in it.”
Great service. Small rooms, but sufficient and clean. Next door to THE party hotel (Clevelander), so great location...because you can escape to quiet side/hotel too.
“nice surprize”
if you like boutique hotels, this one is for you. Employees were very nice and helpful, that is always a plus for me. The room was not huge, but enough space for two. Bed linens were nice, water pressure was great! Bathroom was small, but to be expected. Breakfast was an added plus, with fresh fruit, bagels & rolls. The only draw back is thin walls, but when we called to desk, they addressed it right away. Over-all a great stay!
