My experience here was amazing. From hotel staff to ocean view etc. the only thing I would like to warn my fellow travelers of is the construction going on in the area. If possible add if staff will place you in a part of the hotel where there is no construction. Other than that, perfect!
My wife and I stayed 3 nights. The hotel is right in the heart of Southbeach. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. We valet parked our car and they were very helpful as well. The parking is $25 per day and they allow in and out. We had a great trip!
I was upgraded to a suite thanks to Gold status with Expedia. Nicely appointed except somewhat dark..perhaps because of the art deco theme..felt gloomy during daylight hours. There was a strong smell of cooking in the corridor which was off putting and the elevator was old and rickety..somewhat scary. The suite however was comfortable and nicely decorated and comfortable..aside from lighting. Staff were all very friendly and helpful at Front Desk, Bellmen and Restaurant. Easy walking distance to beach (you get towels and free lounge chair ticket from front desk) and also to the Lincoln Road Mall...lovely street full of terrace dining and shops...and people watching galore.
Free internet and free shuttle to/from airport was a nice bonus. However we gave up on the shuttle on arrival at the airport - it just did not show up after more than an hour of waiting...so we took a regular shuttle...since I made the decision to stay here based on the free shuttle we lost out a bit...however It did show up for our return journey from hotel to airport so we gladly used it on our way back. One other complaint about which really they can't do much..the walls are very thin and we were kept awake by a family next door talking about problems until 5am. A call to Front Desk did nothing to stop them..I suppose you can't ask people to stop talking loudly..
This was a nice hotel with friendly staff... small and quaint with a beautiful view from the top sun deck! Room was nice and comfortable. Delicious food at the hotel's restaurant, clean pool, and directly across the street from the ocean! Very glad I chose this one and would stay again!
Suppose the rate was reduced because I stayed during the weekday, so for the price I paid, it wasn't to bad. The thing I didn't like about the price was the $100 deposit fee that you have to pay and is immediately charged to your card. I thought that was to expensive. The breakfast was tasty, but should have more variety of food and not only pastries. The rooms are very small, but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was to small, and I found hair in the sink when I checked in. The elevator is very small and the max amount is 3 personnel. If you are claustrophobic, you will have to take the stairs.
