“Great location”
Location was fantastic. Just 2 mins walk from the Metropolitan Cathedral and Zocalo square. Other benefits included free internet access in the lobby, helpful staff who spoke English and were happy to set-up tours and give advise. The hotel has a restaurant on the 6th floor which I ate the breakfast buffet which was nice but limited on selection. The cost varied depending on weekend or midweek but was reasonable. The roof terrace gives a great view of the Zocalo square. The room was small but new and clean so as a bse for site seeing it was perfect. And the location can't be beaten. By the way even though being so central, noise was not a problem as the rooms seemed quite well sound proofed. For the price I would highy recommend.
“Best Location!”
The hotel is in a very safe location! Great custumer service can't wait to go back!
“Impressed with the quality and the care.”
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. It was clean. The service was great. The staff was friendly.
“Excellent hotel”
The room was small, but had all you needed - after all, there is that much to see in Mexico City that you won't spend much time inside it unless you're sleeping! Although noisy on the first night, the remainder of the week the hotel noise level was perfectly acceptable. Housekeeping did a splendid job, and the room was always clean and tidy on our return from sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is massive, well varied, and changes from day to day - there was always something different, and it was all delicious - on several days we ate so much that the breakfast lasted us for the entire day. Eating out on the restaurant balcony was a treat in itself, with the view of the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, and the Zocalo (Main Square). The hotel is situated right in the centre of the old town, and you can quite easily spend a week there and not see everything there is to see within walking distance ... but if you want to go further out (and you really should visit the pyramids at Teotihuacan and the canals at Xochimilco), the hotel will sort transport for you and are very helpful. Despite some rather dodgy reviews in travel books, I think it's also worth noting that I found the centre of the city to be both friendly and safe. All in all, a splendid place to stay, in a splendid place.
“A great choice”
This hotel, while not luxurious, is quite comfortable. I liked the fact that they had hardwood floors rather than carpet. Check out the jazz club Zinco a few blocks from there. A nice restaurant, a little farther away, is Los Girasoles. I went there twice. The hotel's restaurant, on the roof garden, is also not bad. In getting to the airport, you might try the metro, which stops very nearby. I didn't try it, but wish I had.
“HOTEL HOLIDAY INN ZOCALO”
The hotel was located in the best part of the city. The rooms were great except that the bathroom was not private. For the price that we paid, it should have included breakfast. But overall, I would recommend the hotel on just the location.
“Can't wait to go back”
the location is nice and convenience. the hotel employee is very helpful. I will go back and stay same hotel.
“Wonderful location”
The Holiday Inn Zocalo is a wonderful location for anyone who wants to experience the heart of Mexico--Centro Historico. I have stayed on the Zocalo in other hotels and believe the Holiday Inn to be the overall most convenient and comfortable location on the Zocalo. It is modern and does not have the 'old Mexico' feel, but the modern conveniences are nice and, frankly, one should not spend the vacation in the hotel anyway. The maid staff is superb and friendly; the front desk people somewhat cold and perfunctory; the rooms comfortable, well-designed and furnished.
“Great location if you want to be in the Zocalo area”
Hotel restaurant/bar overlooks the zocalo, which was great for me, but if you are looking for a really quiet place, this one isn't so quiet - lots of traffic noises etc. Overall the condition of the hotel was better than I expected and the staff were friendly and helpful.
“great location”
The best thing about the hotel is the location. Rooms are comfortable but small. Soundproofing is non-existent. Has way more charm than what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Concierge was very helpful.
