“Excellent Hotel for the Money”

This was probably the best Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. It was newly rennovated, the room was very clean, sleeping area plush, flat-screen TV, safe, iron, etc.etc. The concierge was very helpful, although he wasn't familiar with 5-star restaurants outside the immediate area. Security was excellent throughout the hotel. Hotel restaurant was above average, there was a business center for internet access, and staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling on business or for pleasure.

Holiday Inn Plaza Universidad features a strategic location. Close to a big mall and important avenues in the Mid-south part of the city. The hotel has a minimalistic business yet comfortable and clean atmosphere. Free internet in-room (nice plus). Staff is friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the Holiday Inn Mexico City - Plaza Universidad. I haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn in years and have to say that the level of service, cleanliness and overall friendliness of the staff will have me returning to this location in the future and I will greatly consider Holiday Inn in other cities as well. I speak and understand a moderate amount of Spanish, which helped greatly. The staff is mostly bilingual. There were a couple of occasions, one being when I ordered room service, where the person on the other end of the phone did not understand much English. To me, this was absolutely no problem. If, for some reason, this would be a problem for the average traveler, the front desk/concierge were very fluent in English would have been more than helpful in assistance. Overall, an extremely helpful and courteous staff.

Recently renovated hotel, looks like new, comfortable beds, excellent rooms conveniently located in the south area of México City.

“Comfortable hotel”

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Plaza Universidad. The staff are extremely helpful. Internet connection was excellent. The rooms are modern and very clean. It felt like a four-plus star hotel, really. The breakfast buffet is enormous (always appreciated)! The hotel is not centrally located for major tourist attractions like the zocalo or anthropology museum. The staff is very nice about getting you a tourist taxi (a little more expensive than ordinary taxis, but safer, cleaner and more comfortable). With traffic in Mexico City it does take at least half an hour to get most anywhere in a taxi, though. The subway, if you want to take it, is about two blocks from the hotel and is much faster in general. Room service at the hotel was pretty good and quite fast. I didn't use the fitness center but it looked like it had a good selection of machines. They say the tap water is potable but I didn't risk it. You get one bottle of water a night, after that it's 15 pesos each and they will deliver to your room. All in all, I thought this hotel was better than most I stay in in the US. Only drawback is the location, which is however close to some things, like the Trotsky Museum or Frida Kahlo house and the nice neighborhood of Coyoacán. If I went back to Mexico City I would be pretty tempted to stay there again just because it is nice and a known quantity.

We used the Holiday Inn as a stopover and were very pleased with the hotel, the room and the staff. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice hotel, convenient location (close enough to airport), nice rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and a buffet. I tried the buffet for dinner but was not impressed. Trafic in the area is bad so giveyourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

Hotel employees are well aware that air conditioning does not work. The hotel is airtight and does not create ventilation options. No sure about the electronic equipment you can carry and leave the room. As in big hotels, there is no taxi service control that are recognized by the hotel service, what would be recommended in a city that has standards of insecurity. In the mains, it was reported the decomposition of some frijoes, and what they did was cover up the taste by adding sausage. - Was rediscovered decided to withdraw the item and a tray: no matter the health of a host.- On weekends and holidays specific to Mexico: no laundry service and there are options.
