Noisy, sub-par service & rooms
We booked 3 rooms at this hotel for 2 nights. Although the rooms overlook the sea, there is a very busy road right outside the hotel that's extremely noisy with lots of traffic and horns honking at all hours. In addition, the service was really unhelpful - the older gentleman and woman at the front desk couldn't help with change, providing help navigating the area, etc. Breakfast was an extra charge and expensive so we didn't opt to eat there. No real lobby to relax or sit in while gathering our group together. We wouldn't stay here again.

Nice location and fantastic view
The room is sufficient, but the balcony is fantastic. The show is a bit small but the water is hot and the pressure is good. The location of the hotel is great for walking the area and very close to the taxi and bus station. The breakfast is very basic, but good. The beach is a short walk and the hotel offers a discount code for renting chairs and an umbrella, 30 euros per day. Towels are not provided but can be rented for 5 euro per day. The lady that commonly works the front desk is very kind and helpful.

The bedd are quit ehatd an uncomortable. In typical italian fashion they are teo singles pushed tonighter to make a double. Upgrading the bedsnto a more soft comofrtabl one would make a huge difderenece. But the view balcony and proxomiry to the beach and worht everythinf. Having a tony frodge in the room was also appreciated as we had many apperotovo on our balcony which had a better view than most restaurants and saved us money. Staf was nice and breakfats inclided was halpfull. Would definitely stay here again!

The first impression proved to be true. Front desk clerk was very helpful with check-in and parking arrangement. Parking cost is €12 per day, very reasonable. We got a nice and spacious room looking towards the sea. Short walk to convenient stores and cafés. Wi-Fi is free, but very slow on upload (0.2-0.6 Mbps), download speed is acceptable (5-6 Mbps). Lots of plugs and light, fridge, safe box. Good shower, comfortable sink. The only screwup was the bathroom fan, that will buzz but will not evacuate the air from the bathroom. The A/C unit worked well too. A small coffee table and two chairs were a nice addition for our comfort. The room was cleaned daily, new towels and soap also replaced daily. Extremely pleasant experience from our stay in this hotel.

4 nights stay Post Covid
We stayed just after lockdown had been lifted so I can't speak to what it is like normally in July. We had a top floor terrace view that was gorgeous. The staff was incredibly helpful especially given the circumstances Note: The hotel has a policy of leaving the keys with the front desk when you leave each day. I personally like the idea, the keys are hard keys and I will no doubt lose it at the beach of something :) Overall the location of the hotel is outstanding, you're right next to the cable car which makes going in to the old town very convenient, and the Beach it just right across the street.

Jonic Hotel Mazzaro
The Jonic Hotel Mazzarò is right across the road from the walkway down to a private cove beach. It’s 15 euros for the day for 2 including lounge chairs and umbrella. There is a free beach at the end of the cove where you can still dip your toes in the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea should you choose not to want to pay. Most of the rooms have a terrace overlooking the sea for under $100 in May. There is a lift and air conditioning in each room. The free breakfast can be taken back to be enjoyed on your terrace or with hotel guests from 7:30-10. Request room 41 with a spacious terrace accommodating a table, 2 chairs and 2 lounge chairs with the best view to the sea below. Access to underground parking is right next to the hotel for $15 euros per day, a special price given to hotel guests. The gondola going up to Taormina is next to the parking lot. The front desk hostess was so charming and helpful for checking in, changing rooms, and local information. She was always smiling and welcoming. I highly recommend Jonic Mazzaro

Jonic Hotel Mazzaro
Thank you Jonic Hotel for exceeding our expectations for our stay in Taormina. The location is perfect with access to a parking lot and the gondola to the top of Taormina right next door. The private beach is right across the street with access to lounges and umbrellas for 15 euros a day or there is a free public beach area just 100 meters away. We came in a day early so we did have to change rooms but the front desk staff was helpful in moving our luggage to the new room the next day so we could get out early to explore this extraordinary city. Our room had a large terrace with 2 chairs, a table, and 2 lounge chairs with a gorgeous view of Mazzaro bay and its crystal blue water. We didn’t need to go to the beach with our amazing panoramic vista of the sea. They have a lift, refrigerator, and air conditioning in both of the rooms we Stayed in. A great breakfast is included each morning served downstairs or the meal can be brought back to the rooms to be enjoyed on your private patios. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious with firm mattresses and pillows. The staff were all extremely cordial and assisted us with where to go and what to do in the city. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely location and excellent staff
A great location in Mazzaro, it's a bit quieter than the main city of Taormina but the hotel is right next to the cable car which takes you up to the centre. We paid extra for sea view and balcony (room 14) which was definitely worth it - a stunning bay. The decor is fairly basic but nice enough and the buffet breakfast was good. All staff were really excellent and went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Terrible!
The hotel is in the perfect location, right next to the cable cars to the you up to Taormina. That's the only positive thing. The hotel staff are not pleasant, breakfast is really tired and unappetising, room walls are paper thin and very noisy. And you have to collect your tv remote control from reception every night. What a joke!

Good choice for three-star hotel
The Jonic provides all the comfort you can expect form a three-star hotel, and in certain respects - friendliness of reception, excellent breakfast - gives a little more. What makes it geat value is its location: we booked a room with a sea view and first thing in the morning, it was just wonderful, looking out to a picture-postcard-perfect sea.. The beach is just across the road, down a few steps; there is a charge of 8 euros/day for a sunbed, though. A cable car (turn left as you exit the hotel and walk 30m) takes you up to Taormina for 3 euros. There is another option though: turn right and walk about 50 m to find a sign and steps leading up to the town. The climb is a little trying but not much and the views are unbeatable.

Lovely hotel fantastic view
Perfect for visiting Taormina, then having e refreshing swim in the bay at Mazzaro. We had a room on the 4th floor with a terrace overlooking the bay and beyond, what a fantastic view! A very clean an 'sunny' 3* hotel with friendly and helpful staff, I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Perfect location for beach. Sea views spectacular.
This was our second stay at Jonic Hotel in Mazzaro, Taormina. Ideal for us, as we love the water, and it is across the road. Funivia is 2 minutes walk away, when it is working, otherwise you can wait for up to an hour for the bus to take you up to Upper Taormina. Hotel rooms are small but if you are fortunate to get a sea view, you can live with the room size. Breakfast is presented well. Clean rooms always and reception helpful most of the time.

Great hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location overlooking the sea and beautiful Mazzaro Bay. Very clean and comfortable room. Nearby car park where we could conviently leave our hire car. Unfortunately the cable car to the main town was not working, but no problem to take taxis. Some great restaurants nearby.

Simple Hotel, Perfect Location
Lovely little hotel, has everything you need if you're looking for basic needs while being out & about most of the time, & we were fortunate enough to get a sea view room with a terrace, so had great views when we were in. Breakfast is usual continental (croissant, meat, cheese, cakes, cereal & yoghurt) wouldn't recommend having tea though - it's not great, though the coffee is very nice!! Location wise, the hotel is right in front of the steps leading down to the beach (most of which you'll need to pay for, though there is a small area at the end that's public), & right around the corner from the cable car leading up to the main part of town & bus station (turn left for the bus station, right for the town). Very glad we stayed down near the beach front rather than up in Taormina, as even in mid-september, it was very busy. Restaurants wise - there's an awful lot to choose from! Our picks for the week were L'Incontro, il Barcaiolo & Pizzeria Vecchia. The hotel does open straight out onto the road (there is a small pathway) but this is common, & you'll find most places that you're required to walk on the edge of the road. The staff were lovely & always had a smile. Overall, would definately recommend this hotel - it's very reasonably priced, & the location was spot on.

good location - right next to isola bella
My stay at Hotel Jonic was fine. My room had three beds (but I was staying there alone). I had a friend with me that needed to take a shower before heading back to Catania and the hotel manager would not let her use the shower (even though my room could fit three people). Other than that - my view from the balcony was amazing and the reception staff was very helpful with directions and train times/bus times etc. I would stay here again. The location is a few steps away from the entrance to the public beach - which is great! Also, the lift up to Taormina is right around the corner as well as a delicious restaurant Cafe Marina. If you stay at Hotel Jonic and do not feel like hiking back up to Taormina for dinner - i highly suggest checking out Cafe Marina. The food is very good and the service is great.

Great location, friendly & helpful staff, OK room
My partner and I stayed here for 6 nights and the location was absolutely perfect. Steps away from the beach and very close to the cable car. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We were a little disappointed that our double bed was actually two twin beds pushed together. The shower was quite small with no tray to push soap/shampoo/etc on so we had to put everything on the shower floor. It was really hard to bend over and pick these things up because the shower was so narrow and it got a little frustrating after a few days. Also, I would advise bringing your own body soap because the one they provide is awful and does not lather at all. I can't tell you how many we went through just to get through a single wash. The breakfast was decent but got a little boring after 6 days. The staff that work the breakfast shift were very nice and made good, strong coffee for us every morning. It would have been perfect if they also provided fresh fruit - we are in Sicily, after all! I would recommend this hotel to friends but maybe not for a stay longer than 3-5 days.

Great hotel, challenging but beautiful area
The hotel was easy to find using our GPS but parking was challenging since the hotel entrance was on a busy thoroughfare on the side of a mountain. I paid to park for an hour in the tourist parking lot around the corner from the hotel so my wife and I could check in and unload our car. We then were able to relocate our car up the mountain a bit in overnight parking arranged through the hotel. Our room was compact but comfortable and the view from our large balcony was beautiful since it overlooked the coast. I chose this hotel due to a recommendation from Dive Sicily and dove (SCUBA) with them the following day. The hotel was very convenient for that. The hotel staff was courteous and breakfast was good. The hotel was very convenient to the tram which takes you to the tourist part of Taormina (away from the water) where there are many restaurants and lots of shopping.

Location - good location just outside of main town Taormina. Situated about 2 minutes walk to the Interbus pcik up and cable car which takes you to Taormina (runs every 15 minutes), 2 minutes down to the Mazzaro beach, 5 minutes to Isola Bella island. Service - very helpful and friendly staff who gave info on Mount Etna tours and local bus/taxi options. Breakfast was very good - croissants, rolls, ham, cheese, jam, cereal, yogurt, cake, crackers, juice and coffee are all supplied. Room - quite basic, not the best pillows! very comfy bed though. Quiet air con and all round quiet location. Our garden view room actually had a sea view which overlooked Mazzaro beach. Also the perfect spot to watch the local fireworks.

Comfortable hotel near Taormina's beaches
This is a 3 star hotel which has a great position overlooking the beach and the room we had also boasted a lovely view with a balcony. The room was basic, more 2 star than 3, but adequate. The staff were very helpful and allowed us into the room at 11am. The breakfast was a buffet with eggs, cheese and cold meats as well as the croissants and pastries that are usually provided. We also stayed in a B&B in the town in Taormina and the B&B was better value at E60 than the Jonic at about E80, but overall I would recommend for a short beach stay.

On 1st sight the hotel is not impressive it is very dated and the rooms are tiny, however for a 1 or 2 night break if your are visiting toamina the location is great, right on the sea front and next to the cable car station. The staff were great and the views across the sea made up for the small room. Parking was available at a price which is not ideal. Difficult to find fso just head for mazzaro and you'll find it.
