“Comfort on a Budget”
The Mision Merida is an old - classic- hotel, right in the center of town. If you're looking for a luxurious American-style hotel, it's not for you. But if you're looking for a good bargain - with excellent, gracious service - you should definitely consider it. It's a short walk to everything of interest: the zocalo, the cathedral, the museums, etc. It will certainly be my choice the next time I'm in Merida.
“Smack in the Middle of Everything”
It was my first trip to Merida, and I couldn't have chosen a better place. Mision Merida is located in the heart of downtown - restaurants, clubs, stores are all right outside the front door. The staff was friendly and courteous. The pool was fantastic and rarely crowded - I had it to myself several times. Day trips can be arranged from the lobby. Safe, comfortable, clean, great location.
“We Loved It!”
My husband and I thought this was a beautiful hotel with excellent service. It was the perfect place to stay to really experience all of the wonderful things in Merida. Everything is within walking distance- the main plaza, cathedrals, governor's palace, museums, shopping, etc.
“excellent hotel au centre de la ville”
Chambre et lit grandiose. Tres calme. Climatisé. Cocktail de bienvenue offert. Parking privé gardé, au centre de la ville
“Hotel Mision Merida”
The beds were very, very hard. Otherwise the hotel was great, very near the center of town and the Plaza de Independencia with all it's festivites. The restaurant was very good, food and service. All the people are very friendly and helpful. Tours to mayan sites and haciendas are available in the lobby.
“A wonderful experience”
Almost every places of historical importance that are located in the city are within walking distance from the hotel. The architecture of the hotel lobby and the saturday night live music played in the hotel reflects some of the Mayan culture. The service is impressive for a moderate level hotel. They do all the little things to give it a personal touch. The hotel staff and the local people in general are warm and welcoming. If you plan to stay in this hotel that includes a Saturday night, make sure you ask for a room that is not above the area where they play live music. It goes on till 2am. On the other hand, you might want to actually try experiencinge great event.
“Charming”
The place is good for those on a budget. The museum is in the city center and is very comfortable and safe place to stay
“In the 'heart' of Merida”
Layed back, quality service, nice outdoor courtyard, music each evening in the interior courtyard.
“Very nice hotel, in the center of town.”
This hotel was really nice. Our room was on the tenth floor, so we had a good view of the city. The elevators are kind of old and sometimes you have to wait a while. The service at the front desk could be improved, since every time I went there for something they made me wait forever, without even telling you what they're doing and what you're waiting for. Our room was really nice though, we had a huge king size bed, a big table where we had breakfast (room service) in front of the window. Breakfast was really good. We stayed there for New Year's and the next day it was kind of a chaos. They did not have as much staff as they should've had (everybody was probably recovering from the night before) and after an hour of waiting for our breakfast we finally called to see where it was and they said they were very busy and to just come down to the dining room. Overall, the hotel was very nice and right in the middle of everything: the cathedral, the main square, university, etc.
“Adequate for our use”
Hotel is what was expected for a 2.5 star hotel clean room with breakfast ok for continental but poor for buffet style. Can`t comment on other meals as we eat out.
