“Great Location! I'd stay again!”

This hotel was in a perfect location and the room was perfectly fine. (The room decor was dated). It's a short walk from the boat ramp. When you get off the boat, walk up to the road and take a right.. Then just follow the road and go right at the Y. You'll see the BelleVista sign up on the right. There are wonderful cafe's and shops just past the hotel. The hotel restaurant is lake side and has great views.

“Excellent value for money”

This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel and will definately return in the future. The location is perfect, right on the lake, 2 mins walk to the main square and 5 mins walk to the ferrys which serve Bellagio, Varenna, Como etc. Excellent staff, great breakfast with incredible views of the lake. I would reccomend getting a lake view room as the views really are stunning, and the rooms at the back of the hotel which front the road are noisy and dont benefit from balconies. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it seemed expensive and we prefered to walk into the main square. The only slight negative was that our bathroom was very, very cramped, but this really wasn't a big deal compared to all the positive factors. This hotel is excellent value for money.

“All about the view”

I would stay here again. Definitley choose a balcony view room as its all about the view with this hotel. Our room was v small and it was a bit difficult to move around in the bathroom at times! Also as another review prior warned us the pillows are very hard. Who cares though when you are on your balcony looking out at the view. The pool was brilliant too, it wasn't busy when we were there mid July. A real asset to have a pool as it was very hot I would definintley only book a hotel with a pool. In fact having been there and seen whats on offer I would book this hotel again with no hesitation. Food in our hotel we found to be very good. Breakfast gorgeous eating out overlooking the view again. Great location too as menaggio is some compact you can't really go too wrong.

“Great hotel, great location - eat elsewhere!”

Make sure you get a lake side room with balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the quite amazing views. The hotel is in very easy walking distance of the centre/square where we enjoyed a lovely coffee every day. Its also ideally located for the ferries and we visited all three "corners" of the lake from there - both on rapid boats and slow ones. Menaggio is part of the central lake "triangle" which means you can get to places such as Bellagio and Villa Carlotta (and all the other villas) very easily. Our room was very clean with a fantastic bathroom and really well cleaned every day. (All the staff were very helpful). The added bonus of a small fridge was a neat touch - we kept water in there permanently. (Its inaudible, by the way - tucked inside a cupboard!) Perhaps the only downside to the hotel was their own restaurant which was a bit disappointing to say the least. Just eat out elsewhere every night, there's plenty of places to choose from cheap 'n' cheerful pizzas (the best I've ever had) to up-market places (very yum!) Recommended without hesitation for cleanliness and location - just eat out elsewhere! Richard + Penny

“Solid hotel in Menaggio”

This is a solid choice for a stay in Menaggio. The staff was courteous, and the hotel location is excellent, right on the lake and within easy walking distance of the town piazza and the ferry landing. The view from the restaurant patio is fantastic. It has a decent pool and the hotel restaurant was very good as well. The hotel beds and pillows are very hard (I'd recommend bringing your own pillow). Also, the hotel does not have air-conditioning, so the room can get very warm at night, depending on the weather.

“Petit déj' avec vue sur le lac”

Idéalement placé au bord du lac, très belle vue. Décor un peu vieillissant mais quand même charmant.

“Preque parfait.”

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre -trop court- séjour à l’hôtel Bellavista de Menaggio. Nous avions pris une chambre avec vue sur le lac -indispensable, sinon c'est la vue sur..la rue avec le bruit- magnifique. La chambre avec petit balcon était quasiment neuve et très bien meublée et décorée. En plus, ce qui est loin d'être négligeable, une place de parking gratuite nous était réservée au pied de l’hôtel. Rien à redire sur l'accueil et le personnel. Si je n'ai pas mis la note maximum, c'est à cause du petit déjeuner qui est, hélas, déplorable. Quelle déception ! Le choix des aliments est très limité, les tasses sont liliputiennes, pas d'oeufs, de bacon, etc.. Des hôtels moins chers offrent des petits déjeuners autrement plus somptueux. Quant au pseudo jus d'orange, autant avaler un médicament : 100% chimique. Quelle acidité. A vomir. Le mieux, c'est d'aller prendre son petit-déjeuner ailleurs.
