“Great Couple of Days”
Stayed for a few days during the week between Christmas and New Years. Didn't know until we arrived that the Peabody was the host hotel for one of the college football teams playing in the Liberty Bowl. They were a little boisterous in the evenings, and caused some lines at the elevators once in a while, but I guess that is to be expected. The amenities and atmosphere were great. Spent a good deal of time hanging out down in the lobby, which is spectacular, especially when the Christmas tree and decorations were up. The room itself was on par with what is to be expected from an older, restored hotel, but that they have done a good job modernizing. Would stay again on a future return trip to Memphis.
“Stunning slice of live history in a dead town”
Beautifully restored. A couple small oversights with the room, but were addressed in an impressive manner. Note: The Peabody charges $11.95+tax per room per night as an amenities fee upon checking in. They will not waive it and it is in addition to what was already paid to Expedia.
“First Class Hotel in the Centre of Memphis.”
Situated two blocks from the river and within a short walk to tourist attractions, Beale Street, Rock and Soul Museum, etc. Friendly and helpful staff and a choice of fine dining or a quick refuel from a number of bars and restraunts. Further eateries just across the street. The famous ducks are a tourist attraction themselves. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
“Beautiful hotel in downtown Memphis”
Beautiful old hotel ,lovely furnishings and good old style traditions. The duck parade is really cute and worth seeing .Worthwhile paying $30 Extra for an upgrade when you get there as the rooms are much bigger
“great hotel”
Great hotel. Is very pricy after parking and extra charges. It is beautiful and all in all was worth the extra money. Best barbeque restaurant is closed on monday
“Excellent hotel ... 5 minute walk to Beale Street”
My mum and I stayed at the Peabody Hotel from 13-17 Nov. It was my mum's 60th birthday just a few days before and I mentioned this on my booking with the hotel. Upon check-in my mum was greeted with a very sincere "Happy Birthday" from the female receptionist. This attention to detail was evident in most areas of the hotel from check-in to the quality of the rooms and housekeeping. I feel the hotel service was only let down on 1 occasion when the barman in the Lobby Bar was rather surly whilst serving us (this I believe was due to the overly fussy and complaining customer he served just before us, but that's no excuse!). The Concierge was excellent at arranging transport to take us to and from Gracelands at short notice. In my opinion, the cost of the journey was cheaper than had we taken taxis to and from the home of Elvis. The Peabody Duck March at 11am is a must-see - the hotel has this so well organised that we were able to see it all despite the crowds of people from external tours that appeared in the lobby about 10.45am. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Beale Street which I highly recommend, there's so many bars and places to eat to choose from. We encountered only 1 hawker outside the Peabody Hotel on our very first evening but that's probably because we came out the side door without planning our route to Beale Street beforehand and he could see we were new to the city. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again so I be back in Memphis.
“Classic Eligence”
Beautiful hotel, although the staff seemed a little low to move in the bar area of the lobby ... the parade of duck is an absolute must see ... sooo cute. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Rooms are comfortable, although the bathroom was a quite small. Beds were great ... very comfortable! Overall, great place to stay!
“Fantastic Getaway”
The Peabody was truly a wonderful place to stay for our vacation. Not only was the hotel beautifully maintained, but it was also conveniently located for entertainment. I will have a hard time staying at any other place from now on.
“Our Memphis Trip.”
The staff of the Peabody Memphis was very pleasant and helpful. The valet personnel were very friendly and always eager to open a door. The concierge was informative and helpful in obtaining reservations at a local restaurant for the evening, even though there was no direct relation between the hotel and restaurant. If you are ever in Memphis, you have to stop by to see the Ducks - very delightful and relaxing. The Duck Parade was very regal and lived up to the hype! Room service was prompt and courteous. Overall a very relaxing stay, a highlight of our trip!
“Graceful hotel and friendly staff”
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel in September 2006 and were extremely satisfied. We found it to be very comfortable, the staff were friendly and courteous and the location is great for walking to Beale Street. The ducks of course are a wonderful attraction - you must take a peek at their "penthouse" on the roof of the hotel - what a life!
