“Best location in Mazatlan, but bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper,,,”
The location of this hotel is great. Very central to everything, and I mean everything. From nightclubs, restaurants, taco stands, boardwalk, shops, beach, etc.... btw, too many restaurants in Mazatlan, so don't go AI, especially if you love seafood, bc it's not included in the AI menu. Room was clean and service was good. Highly recommmend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay here again.
“I liked it a lot”
If the staff checks on quality issues, there would always be towels for the pool, not having a remote control in the room is a very basic issue. Oterwise I loved the hotel.
“Beautiful View!!”
All room have a view of the ocean. The "Castle on the Rocks" is right next to the hotel. The rooms were clean but the beds were a bit hard and the AC was noisy turning on.
“probably will go back”
do not leave any valuables around. keep them under lock and key.
“Good value for money”
Too many commercial sellers are visiting our chairs. Wireless internet can be improved.
“Would Return... The Price is Right”
Fun Fun Fun!!! It's Mazatlan! For the price, it's worth it for sure. Our room was nice. We added the upgrade for the kitchen. No utensiles or stove top. If you're a surfer, it's the perfect hotel. NO OTHER HOTEL WILL HAVE WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! Only drawback for the beach is the wait staff (or lack of). Never had a waiter once. We stayed at another hotel whose waiter practically shoved the cocktails in your face.
“SWF traveller from Canada says, Clean, Cozy and Comfortable~ but, BRING EAR PLUGS!!!”
There were so many things I appreciated about the Emporio~ The staff were wonderfully helpful~ (it also helps if you know some Spanish!); it's on Gaviotas Beach, which is beautiful; the rooms are cozy but it is very clean and has very comfy beds; it is frequented mainly by Mexican families with small children, so the hotel itself is pretty quiet; it has a central courtyard with two pools and a hot-tub; it also has a pool/beach bar; the restaurant is part inside/outside on a patio over-looking the beach and puts on one FANTASTIC breakfast buffet for a very reasonable price; and an unexpected bonus~ the building is constructed in a square-U shape so that EVERY single room at the Emporio has a full-length balcony overlooking the inner courtyard with the pools and beyond to the beach~ the down-side to this is that every single room can only be accessed from the outside. Since it is on a major street and on the southern end of the main tourist area, it is conveniently close to other restaurants, shopping, etc. That also makes it very noisy, and Mexican architecture being what it is (ie. paper-thin walls), you unfortunately hear everything from the street as if it were just outside your door, because IT IS! Ear plugs work beautifully~ bring the old-style foam ones though, not the newer plastic, pre-formed ones~ those hurt the ears after one night of use, nevermind three nights! I would definitely consider going back to the Emporio.
“Very Nice”
The Emporio was a very nice hotel, right on the water and had 2 pools and a jacuzzi. The waiters were very courteous and pleasant, so overall it was a great place to stay.
“Paceful place”
Husekeeping can be improved, all the rest fine, competitive prices. Good for family with young children vacation.
“Great place to visit”
The hotel has a great design (for those who appreciate architecture). Two pools and a hot tub for those who don't want to be bothered on the beach. The sunset views of Wolf Island and Deer Island are amazing. The food at the hotel is good and reasonably priced. You can't beat the outdoor seating. I live in the mountains and absolutely loved opening the sliding doors and falling asleep to the waves.
