“Great place to spent a night right in the heart of the city”
Good
“Decent accommodations”
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and extremely clean. Not a luxury hotel with lots of accommodations, but a decent place to spend a night or two.
“Nice to stay a couple of nights for a good price”
Nice to stay for a good price
“Good experience for the price.”
The only thing I can say is that the pool is very small, good for kids. But overall is a good place.
“very nice hotel”
very quite and nice
“Wow - this is a HoJo?”
Probably haven't stayed in a Howard Johnson's since I was a kid. To be honest, expectations were not all that high, but we were VERY pleasantly surprised. We got the business traveler's room (which they call a "Home Office" room) and it was quite large, with a separate living room and kitchen with fridge, sink and microwave. Everything was clean and well-cared for. Location is good, right around the corner from the city's central plaza. Also right across the street from Ricomini's Bakery, famous for the "Brazo Gitano" cake. Next time we return to Mayaguez, we will definitely stay here again, and I might even try Howard Johnson's elsewhere in the future, too.
“Have To Go Back”
My son wanted to spend his vacation here with the family, and ask me to make all the arrangements, and when I saw the picture of the hotel I just fell in love, All 3 rooms were very comfortable. All my grandchildren enjoy it also, The only complain is that the microwave were only for the penthouse, we found out the same day we got there, (we had bought frozen food for the kids) lol. Try out the bakery in the corner, Great food at great price, And entertainment for the kids were close by. All in all we enjoy it very much and are planning on going back.
“I will stay, again.”
The room was nice. The staff were helpfull. The room and bathroom clean. The only problem was, in the room we stay, the position of the air conditioner the air vents apoint directly to the bed and you can not move it. I recomend to move the position of the a/c.
“Unique Hotel”
Not a luxury hotel but fully adequate and a unique experience because of its layout (a former convent) and location (directly across from the downtown cathedral and town square). When we were there Jan 11, 2008 a festival was held at night in the wonderfully decorated and lighted square. Vendors, live music. Great experience. If I had to stay in Mayaguez again, it would be at the Howard Johnsons.
“Positive experience”
Excellent location for business or tourism. The wine bar at the entrance is great and with excellent service. It's an old building but the way it was prepared makes it confortable. There's only wifi at the lobby but you could ask for a LAN cable at the reception desk without cost and the network with this device is perfect. For my business trips, I need to stay in Mayaguez surroundings and definitively this hotel has the best value-price ratio in the area.
