“a perfect stay”

The only thing that could have gone better at The Mauian was to have more time there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was beautiful and comfortable and the beach was perfect. I would stay here again and again.

“The Mauian gets and A+ from us!”

The Mauian is the most peaceful and serence place on the planet. From the exquisite Napili Bay beach (the best on Maui) to the lovely, updated rooms, the quiet, lush surroundings and lovely staff, this is an A+ vacation. We loved the range of people from young families with small children to our senior citizens and everything in between. Not a place to go if you are looking for a "swinging good time", Definitely a place to go for a REAL rest. Mahalo to the Mauian!!!

“COMFORTABLE AND QUIET”

THE MAUIAN HOTEL WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR-A SMALL, FAMILY OPERATED, LAID BACK EXPERIENCE. THE HOTEL'S LANDSCAPE IS BEING REDESIGNED AND WILL BE WONDERFUL WHEN COMPLETED. THE HOTEL HAD NO AC, BUT CEILING FANS WERE SUFFICIENT AND THE LOUVERED WINDOWS ALLOWED THE BREEZES TO FLOW THROUGH. THE BEDS WERE REAL TEMPURPEDIC MATTRESSES - A REAL TREAT COMPARED TO THE USUAL. I DID MISS HAVING A BATHTUB, THOUGH.

“Beautiful setting.”

Friendly staff. Attractive rooms and lush manicured grounds. We could hear every word and movement of our neighbors since the building does not appear to have sound proofing .We were required to be out of our room for 2 hours one morning for the quarterly bug spraying! Tiny pool. The monotonous breakfast featured coffee, tea, juice, pineapple, papaya, and bread everyday with a few slices of banana once a week. The beach was so conveniently close that we didn't even need to carry a towel when we swam every morning. The bay was perfect for snorkeling (loved seeing the turtles) and swimming. The sunsets on the beach were stunning every night. Enjoyed walking down the beach to the Gazabo Restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Enjoyed the Slack Key Guitar concert next door on Wednesday nights. We were warmly welcomed to the neighborhood Methodist Church on Sunday morning.

“Great for families... ideal for relaxing couple get away”

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mauian. We were literally steps from the beach and the bay was wonderful. There were a few good places to eat which were walking distance and overall was a very pleasant place to stay... if you plan on waking up early. Don't plan on sleeping in at the Mauian. The walls are very thin and you will hear everyone moving around you. Also because of the bay it is situated on and the large open grass area, it is an ideal hotel for children to enjoy. The only problem is that those children begin to enjoy the hotel between 6 and 7am daily so be warned if you are planning on sleeping the day away. For us... there isn't a lot to do late in Maui anyway so we weren't staying up real late, thus the early mornings didn't matter too much. All in all, the views were outstanding, the bay was great for swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, and relaxing. The super close proximity of the beach to our room was very convenient. Loved the Pineapple Grill which was at the Kapalua golf course just up the road. I would definitely stay there again... if I have some kids with me that is.

“You can do better...”

A half a star hotel if you ask me. No soundproofing whatsoever and no privacy. If you have a ground floor room be prepared to hear your upstairs neighbors a lot. Quiet hours start at 10 PM. So if u would like to go to bed early and a group of rowdy teenagers is partying overhead (the case with us) u are out of luck. Also, the couple upstairs woke us up arguing at midnight. Plus they had very heavy feet and slammed doors. Also, don't count on security doing anything to quiet said rowdy teenagers even though I mentioned that they were smoking pot as well. The bed was as hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. I hardly slept at all. You are better off spending a little more for a quality hotel, not some glorified beach cabin.
