“Close to beach”

Very low key, with no tv or phone in room, no air conditioning, but not a problem for me. I loved it. Very, very close to beautiful beach, literally just steps away from my front door, and beautiful beach, ocean view from my patio. Snorkeling great. Can walk to neighboring facility restaurant, and other neighboring facility (short walk) has a convenience store and snorkel rental. Overall, GREAT place, but not fancy.

“Island time”

If you are the type to complain about everything - don't stay here. If you are happy to relax and get into island time - stay here. The room was beautiful and I loved the rain shower! The beach in front of the hotel is great: perfect sand and not busy. I got in very late but I e-mailed the hotel in advance (be aware that the front desk staff is only there from something like 8am-6pm) so they taped my keys to the office window for me. It was so cute and trusting! The rooms don't have AC but they have windows on both ends and the cross breeze was enough for me. Since there are families staying there you have to be prepared for older kids making noise until 11pm and younger kids waking up at 7am. Since the windows are all open and the walls pretty thin, this will be your alarm clock. The hotel provides a small breakfast (banana bread, fruit, coffee & juice). The pool is very small (like a an upper-middle class person would have in their yard) and no hot tub ... but it doesn't matter because the beach is great!

“I will be back!”

Love this hotel! Small and charming which is what I like. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All the rooms have been recently renovated for a great tropical feel. The grounds, pool and bbq area are beautiful. Best of all, you are just steps away from a wonderful, scenic beach on Napili Bay.

“Wish we could have stayed longer.”

We only stayed for one night but it was excellent. The Mauian is the perfect hotel for anyone who wants to lay on the beach all day and maybe do some snorkeling to see the sea turtles. It seemed like the rooms were recently redone and the furniture (especially the bed!) was 4 or 5 star quality. Breakfast was great too!

“Only place to go on Maui”

We love this place, its our second time, I wouldnt stay anywhere else. If you go to relax and or snorkel, this is the most laid back relaxing place you will ever stay. Love the new remodel the have done. We enjoy the bbq most every day, and there are several of them to use. The market is only 2 miles away.

“The Mauian Boutique Studios”

Great, great location. Nearer to the beauty and further away from the big resorts. Just the right size. Family friendly and great beach right outside our door.

“Great deal and terrific location”

We recently stayed at the Mauian and I had a terrific experience. The staff was helpful and friendly, the grounds were well maintained and the location (right on the beach of Napili Bay) was just what you'd expect from a Maui experience but rarely get with larger hotels. We were honestly 5 steps from the sand. The kitchens were very nice and conveninet and the overall experience was much more intimate than the 'big resort" experience. Food and drink is all pretty much self serve, so there's no one that brings you a drink on the beach. if that's your thing, then this place isn't for you. However, if you like the experience of what amounts to the feeling of having your own condo on a perfect little beach, the Mauian will fill the bill quite nicely. The beach is close and uncrowded and feels like it's all yours. I've traveled extensively and have stayed in many different types of hotels. I can say that this hotel will not dissappoint. it's clean, well maintained and the recently remodeled rooms are stylish and pleasant (despite not having air conditioning which you won't even notice once you're there). The weather's perfect and there's always a nice breeze to keep the room at a pleasant temperature. This is truly a relaxing "get away from it all" kind of a place. I highly recommend it and would go back today.

“WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK”

The hotel had a nice family feel to it. The room was very nice and sooooo close to the beach.

“Simple comfort away from it all”

The hotel was excellent. The staff was excellent. I chose this Hotel for a trip where I planned on proposing to my girlfriend (She said Yes). I was hoping for something a little quieter than it turned out to be, but who can blame the youngsters for having such a good time. The Beach was unbelievable and very very close to the rooms. At night you could hear the ocean crashing against the shore as you went to sleep. This place is as close to perfect as I have ever experienced.

“Can't wait to go back”

We have been coming to this hotel for over 35 years. We love the close proximity to the beach. But you have to love a place that has no telephone, air conditioner or TV, and you have to put up with noise from your neighbors as the insulation is minimal. We always stay in the bottom units, so we hear our upstairs neighbors walking on the tile floor. Since in remodel over the past year or so, the garden walkways have been paved with marble which are dangerous when wet. Same goes for inside the rooms whose new tile floors could spell trouble. We lrarned from our neighbors that someone fell in the bathroom before we came and had to be taken to the hospital.My brother-in-law also almost fell in the bathroom. None of this would ever keep us from coming here.
