“Amazing 25th Anniversay”
My husband and I stayed at the Kea Lani in October 2005 for our 25th wedding anniversary. It is a beautiful hotel. We went for a great walk everyday along the 1.5 mile trail that runs between the ocean and five hotels. It gets busy and there is very little shade so the earlier you go the better. The room we had was a partial oceanview which meant is was at the side of the hotel and if we were out on the balcony we could see the ocean. There is an adults only pool which was great and very relaxing. The wait staff at this pool were very attentive. We received cool cucumber soaked cloths to refresh ourselves with - very nice touch. The poolside food and drinks,as with the rest of the hotel food, is expensive. $10 US for a drink but remember you are in paradise and for us it was a once in a lifetime vacation and worth every penny. The lobby is beautiful and open with a view of the ocean. Nick's Restaurant is excellent and the staff are attentive. It gets really windy in the afternoon so the waves are a lot of fun to play in at that time. All in all we had a wonderful time.
“Excellent place to stay”
As a good Fairmont property: very good service, comfortable rooms, good restaurants (though expensive). Hotel beach is very nice, small yet not crowded, good snorkeling on the rocks to the right of the hotel in the direction of Wailea Beach. Try to get a corner suite, much more spacious than regular suites.
“Amazing”
This hotel is beautiful. We went during busy spring break, but never felt crowded. The location is ideal in Maui, much quieter than the north/west coast. The service was exemplary. The hotel was overbooked and we were asked to please accept an upgrade to an oceanfront villa. Luxury unbound. I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Maui. One fault: the fitness center was lacking with only limited equipment and space.
“Will be back”
Great hotel, good location. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable except for the pullout sleeper couch my son used. Sadly this is the case for most hotels. Proximity to the beach is great and the shuttle to the shops is convenient. We enjoyed the adult pool although the poolside menu on offer was not good. Having found a worm in the salad, we did not order meals there again and opted for lunch from the cafe which was cheaper and better. Breakfast buffet was delicious, a friendly cook, Edwin, if I recall correctly, made some killer eggs. Will be back!
“definitely go back someday”
we stayed at the fairmont for our honeymoon. what a wonderful hotel, with excellent staff and service. concierge was extremely helpful with planning some excursions on the island, and we even got some discounts. there seemed to be many families and children in the pools; but it didn't really effect our honeymoon or privacy. the Ko restaurant was good, with great food, but the service was just par. the location of the fairmont was great as well - clean, well kept grounds in the area, and more quiet? than the other resort areas of the island; close to shopping, and Big Beach (which was amazing, especially at sunfall). however, it was good that we rented a car - close driving distance to the other towns and beaches. there was free parking for our rented car. note: if you do try some of the other good restaurants in neighboring hotels, just let the valet know and they will provide the free parking with receipt of the meal. i would most definitely recommend the fairmont kea lani to anyone, and hope to visit there again!
“Loved the Kea Lani!”
If you are looking for a well appointed and family friendly hotel in beautiful Wailea then look no further. This hotel has it all - from helpful and courteous staff and great restaurants, to the best pool and beach in the area. We loved our stay at the Fairmont and can hardly wait to go back.
“Perfect honeymoon retreat”
Everything at this hotel was perfect. Adult only pool, complimentry yoga in the mornings, water sport rentals right on the amazing beach and other very nice complimentry extras. One highlight was the Cultural Canoe Experience - awesome. All staff was very friendly, pool, beach and grounds were beautifully maintained. Not many kidswhich was perfect for us.
“Excellent Stay”
We stayed at this resort for 5 days and loved every moment. The resort is spacious and uncrowded which stands in contrast to the other nearby resorts. The pools are clean and inviting and the poolside service is excellent. The beach is nice but may be a bit rough for smaller children at times but one need only walk for 10 minutes to another beach. The food in the restaurants is excellent and the staff are very attentive. We will definitely go back and have no negative comments whatsoever.
“Amazing Hotel”
This hotel by far exceeded my expectations. The service was great and the location couldn't have been better. The hotel also has a free shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up anywhere in Walea, all you have to do is call them.
“Great hotel.”
Excellent hotel. Only improvement we could recommend would be for food and drink service on the beach. Service was available around the pool only. Otherwise, we could not recommend this hotel more.
