“Excellent!”
After agonizing over where to stay in Maui - in the West or the South and which hotel...we were extremely happy that we chose the Kea Lani Resort! It was absolute perfection! It was great to have a large clean roomy suite instead of just a small room (or someone's worn out condo) with a large balcony overlooking the beautiful pools and grounds (and we could see the ocean from the balcony)! The small refrigerator and microwave were great for breakfast and light lunches (we took advantage of the nearby Safeway and we saved our money for our dinners). The staff was wonderful and the waterslide provided tons of fun! The weather was warm and sunny in South Maui.....rainy and chilly in the West.....We can't wait to go back! It was worth the $$$!
“The Fairmont was great”
After reading all of the great reviews on this site, I was a little afraid of getting to the Fairmont and having a let down (sometimes our expectations can get a little to high), but I can tell you this hotel didn't let us down. Our room had a view overlooking the pool, which was beautiful, and the ocean. The rooms were very clean and all of the staff was extremely friendly. This is a first class hotel and the next time we travel to Maui, the only place we'll stay is at the Fairmont. One tip, join the Fairmont Club. You can do this at their website and it's free. We originally booked a partial ocean view room, but when we checked in, we were upgraded to a full ocean view at no extra cost.
“The best!”
Rooms are the best!! The deli is an added bonus. A truly wonderful place to stay when on vacation in Hawaii!!! Would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to family and friends.
“Great Place for Families with young Kids”
The Fairmont Kea Lani is a great destination on Maui for those traveling with toddlers. The grounds are lovely and contain a largish family oriented pool complete with a really nice wading pool for the truly young along with an adults only area for those wishing to escape the shrieking set. The beach was lovely and had really wonderful snorkeling within 1000 yards. The resort staff provided lounge chairs small tables and would rent umbrellas for $10/hr. They also provided ice-water at the beach, but no beverage service. The only negatives for me were the exorbitant $100 rates for the pool-side cabanas which took up most of the property's lounging real estate and the disappointing breakfast service. If you do stay here take the gloriously scenic ocean cliffside trail to the Four Seasons for their spectacular breakfast buffet which only cost $2 more. Even if you don't want a breakfast buffet suggestion, take this paved trail for its scenery and to wander into the other Wailea resorts.
“Amazing 25th Anniversay”
My husband and I stayed at the Kea Lani in October 2005 for our 25th wedding anniversary. It is a beautiful hotel. We went for a great walk everyday along the 1.5 mile trail that runs between the ocean and five hotels. It gets busy and there is very little shade so the earlier you go the better. The room we had was a partial oceanview which meant is was at the side of the hotel and if we were out on the balcony we could see the ocean. There is an adults only pool which was great and very relaxing. The wait staff at this pool were very attentive. We received cool cucumber soaked cloths to refresh ourselves with - very nice touch. The poolside food and drinks,as with the rest of the hotel food, is expensive. $10 US for a drink but remember you are in paradise and for us it was a once in a lifetime vacation and worth every penny. The lobby is beautiful and open with a view of the ocean. Nick's Restaurant is excellent and the staff are attentive. It gets really windy in the afternoon so the waves are a lot of fun to play in at that time. All in all we had a wonderful time.
“Would go back”
Great place
“Excellent place to stay”
As a good Fairmont property: very good service, comfortable rooms, good restaurants (though expensive). Hotel beach is very nice, small yet not crowded, good snorkeling on the rocks to the right of the hotel in the direction of Wailea Beach. Try to get a corner suite, much more spacious than regular suites.
“50th birthday in Maui”
This hotel was awesome! I am a fan of Fairmont Hotles, and this one did not let me down. Everything from the room to the grounds to the staff were top notch. The other perfect aspect of our stay was that we arrived the day after Labor Day so the place was empty. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone plannng a trip to Maui.
“Recent stay at Fairmont Kea Lani”
This was my family's first stay at the Kea Lani and we will ALWAYS stay at this property during future Maui visits. The service was impeccable, the rooms were very spacious and the grounds were immaculate. Our family of four, including two teenagers, fit quite comfortably in a standard room. Most impressive was the customer service and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
“Spectacular comfort and service”
The Fairmount Kea Lani was one of the most stunning properties I've ever stayed at or visited. The grounds are immaculately groomed and the semi-secluded beach is just perfect for lounging and light snorkeling in the calm blue Pacific. The suites are large and comfortable with plenty of room for kids or even close friends in the living room with foldout bed. The pictures of rooms on the site don't do it justice. Great mattresses and bedding and soft towels helped us maximize our relaxing stay. The staff was generous with their time and eager to please from valet, bellmen, waiters, to the concierge folks who helped us book outtings and print our boarding passes.
