Great Hotel on a Kaanapali beachPosted 6-Mar-2014
Pros: Its location is definitely a big plus. Very close to Black Rock & close Whalers village. 5 minute drive to Front Street.
Cons: The carpets had a slight odour likely from constant wet feet. They need to get rid of odour
Location: The Sheraton is on Kaanapali Beach 5 minute drive to Front Street, 20-25 minute drive to Kihei. Snorkel, swim
We loved Maui & very much enjoyed our hotel. Its close to everything, yet it is not a noisy place as its located towards the end of the beach to Black Rock. Beach was excellent. Hotel food was great. Staff were awesome. I had a choice of 2 different rooms when I arrived, which each had a King bed, which is what I requested. We picked the one closest to the beach. We had just standard rooms but they were spacious & loved that I could go to beach in 2 minutes.

Location is excellent. Not accommodatingPosted 5-Mar-2014
Went for honeymoon. Booked early to make sure to get a king bed but was told they didn't have any king bed rooms when checking in. The hotel wanted to charge another $1000 for a week to upgrade to a king with a "better" view. I originally booked for a king sized bed. Why did I have to pay more to get it when I was checking in? Location wa perfect. Their bar grill was excellent for dinner and sunset with reasonable pricing and decent limited grilled items. Would highly recommend if they gave me a king size bedroom which is what I booked for. I would give it a 5/5 if that were the case

Nice locationPosted 25-Feb-2014
Pros: Everything was nice
Cons: Allow designated smoking areas. You wouldn't have people throwing cigarette butts everywhere.
Location: Maui, what else needs to be said.
Pleasant quiet time. The Sheraton does need to take a look at how dated "some" of the aspects of this hotel are.

Unbelievable Experience!Posted 23-Feb-2014
Cons: Food pricing
Location: Shopping, marina, restaurants, whale watching, zip lining all very close to hotel. Car rental on site.
This Resort is right on the beach! Every Inch of this place is fantastic! The staff and entertainment we're remarkable. Rooms are spotless and are generous in size. The food was Delicious, was a bit pricey but to be expected in this area. The spance of beach is again extremely well maintained...no garbage, cigarettes, or bottles anywhere to be seen. There are stores with in walking distance and provide lots of shopping opportunities. Loved the running trails alongside the ocean shore!

Best Beach on MauiPosted 21-Feb-2014
Pros: The best part about this hotel is the location. It is located next to black rock! We saw sea trutles everyday!
Cons: The rugs in the hallways were in very poor condition. Also the tiles in the bath and balcony needed to be replaced. The fan in the bathroom did not wo
Location: Whale watching, biking, fishing, swimming, diving, snorkleing, walking, shopping! It is all there for the taking! Enjoy this magical place!
The check in process was simple and easy. At registration the staff was trying to upgrade/upcharge each new guest as they checked into the hotel. We did upgrade for a 50$ fee. We were happy with the ocean view. In fact, we could see whales from our balcony! Excellent up grade. People from the Westin and Hyatt would come to the black rock beach for the snorkling. At the end of the trip we found a huge..roach in our room on the desk during the day....not good. Also the Sheraton should spend some money maintaing the property. For example a tile on the balcony was broken, a tile in the shower was cracked and the hallway rugs were in horrible condition. The staff was very effective, helpful and met our every need with a smile. The pool service was the best with helping my mom out to the beach!

Fantastic Beach, Great Hotel!Posted 13-Feb-2014
We stayed at the Sheraton Maui for 8 days, for our Honeymoon. We ended up spending quite a lot of time in the water just outside, since it was so great! We drove around the island, and tried a few beaches, but found Ka'anapali Beach to be the best for swimming, snorkeling, and convenience. We saw everything from sea turtles to loads of tropical fish, and even a monk seal! I would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to have a relaxing and invigorating trip. Ka'anapali turned out to be an ideal location for us as well; Lahaina was very close, and it wasn't far to Ma'alea Harbor or even Kihei when we wanted to venture out. I would suggest renting snorkel gear from a local snorkel hut (there are many - most charge about twenty a week, way better than the alternative) This made our trip all the more fun, and we could stop and snorkel anytime and anywhere we liked. Food at the resort was not much more expensive than elsewhere on the island, and it was delicious! We tried to eat at a variety of places, but the taro burger I had by the pool was probably my favorite meal. 5 stars, and we will be back!

Maui Anniversary VacationPosted 11-Feb-2014
Pros: Hotel is located in prime spot. Excellent view from room of the Whales breaching as this was during their migration time.
Cons: Desinated Smoking areas. You can only smoke in parking lots that have no area with benchs, ashtrays, or cover from rain and sun.
Location: Location is good. Paddle boarding and snorkling was popular. Whale watching was great.Front Street has the best food and shopping options and suggest.
Hotel is located in very nice area with great views. We stayed on the Black Rock Building 6 complex. We had a Deluxe Ocean Front room. We were able to view thousands of Whales migrating South for the winter right from out balcony. This was really amazing to see so many Whales. We recommend you take some binaculars. Hotel staff was not as freindly as we have experienced on our several other trips to Hawaii. As Maui is a beautiful Island, we are more impressed with Oahu and the Big Island. Sight seeing and activities are very limited in Maui. Oahu has far more to see and do if you want to have fun. The Big Island volcanos is something everyone should see if you visit Hawaii. As far as Maui, if your older and are limtited from physical activities, Maui would probably do fine. If you are Middle to younger age and want to do experience something more .. Go to Oahu. We are mid fiftys and just wanted more to do than what Maui has to offer.

Great memoriesPosted 11-Feb-2014
Location: Lahaina, Front Street! Best shopping and food
I loved everything about the hotel, when we first checked in, the room we had shared a wall with an elevator and we called and they moved us asap. The room was so comfortable and cleaned well every day. We ate there also and it was amazing! The show every night was super cool and the snorkeling was awesome! Saw turtles and whales.

great location by beautiful Kannapali BeachPosted 9-Feb-2014
Pros: breakfast buffet, location and the beautiful staff.
Cons: Rooms are outdated, food is pricey.
Location: Whale watching, Sugar cane train in Lahainia, definiitely need to rent a car in Maui
buffet breakfast was delicious and staff are so warm and inviting. MAUI is beautiful. Close to Whalers Village, not so good for the kids, no kids club or activities for the little ones.
