“Royal treatment at the Royal Lahaina”
Cottage room was better than what I expected, given it was the most affordable room available. We actually preferred it to the towers. Nice patio area (lanai) outside and the grounds were very lush and beautiful. The a/c didn't work properly the first day in our room, but we figured it out. The hotel staff brought us a fan, which really helped keep it cool...We're not used to humid weather. The hotel was clean and very convenient. Free shuttle to other nearby hotels and Whalers Village was a definite "plus." We were glad we saved money by not renting a car. We enjoyed the quiet, more adult atmosphere of the hotel, although we saw a few small children. Close proximity to the beach and boardwalk was also nice. We definitly recommend this hotel and would prefer to stay there again when we return to Maui.
“Royal Lahaina makes a great homebase for a Hawaiin vacation”
The motel has been refinished with wonderfully comfortable beds and nice bathroom upgrades. Loved being able to walk right out on the beach! The upgrade to the tower was well worth the rate increase. The FREE trolley provided rides with in the Kaanapai area including Whalers village and, connected to the Lahiana public transportation. The luau was the best one! Only had to walk back to the room and the dancers were fabulous.
“eriebuckeye”
this hotel was fabulous great staff great location and a great price
“Great place at a great rate!!!”
Food was a bit expensive, but isn't all of Hawaii? Some lounge chairs at pool did need to be replaced. But all in all, it was a great hotel with friendly personnel. The expedia reps were also very helpful.
“Loved it!”
The hotel was very nice, as where the staff. The food was great and the beach was excellent (no coral).
“I would love to go back”
Great hotel!!!
“Returned for a reason”
Royal Lahaina Resort was a fantastic vacation spot for us in 2009. So much so that we returned in 2010. It's not an exaggeration to say that everything was almost perfect. If there was any flaw at all, I would say that the access to the beach could be made a little easier; but the beach itself is wonderful, with no large submerged rocks, as is the case, a half mile or so north. The room itself was very comfortable, and I really liked the louvered shutters that separate the sink and bath area from the rest of the room. Nice little convenience store on site that sells anything and everything you need. Excellent coffee from the coffee shack downstairs. All in all, I plan to return next year...
“Book a room in the tower!”
Make sure you get a room in the tower - we had booked a room that was not in the tower and it was extremely outdated (think 70's). After the first night we had to request an upgraded room (as we noticed many other couples doing also). We had to pay extra, but it was definitely worth it. The new room was awesome. The furniture was really nice, and everything was comfy. We took full advantage of the in room refrigerator and ate breakfast on the balcony every morning. Great views! Staff was super friendly, gave us great advice on good snorkeling locations every day. Would definitely go back!
“Paradise awaits!”
Very friendly staff. The beach front room had an amazing view. the sunset was incredible
“Overall Great”
Despite an issue upon check in (they do not guarantee room bed type booked through Expedia), we worked it out and the remainder of my stay was wonderful. Great location, nice Hawaiian hotel, beautiful beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
