“Best hotel on Maui”
We had a great time at this hotel. It was within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants, which is great since parking is so expensive on Maui. In addition to being very helpful during our stay, they also provided a complimentary place for our luggage after checkout AND a room for an hour to freshen up before our late flight. The rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and comfortable and the rest of the service makes up for it.
“Lahaina Shores Beach Resort”
This was an excellent hotel to stay at. The location was fantastic--about a 5-10 minute walk to the hopping area of Lahaina for dinner, drinks, and shopping. Free continental bfast although you do have to pay ~$8/day for parking. However, well worth it and I will stay here again next time I go to Maui.
“One of the most convenient place to stay in Maui”
Maui is less develope than Honolulu, so for visitor who doesn't drive, Lahaina is the better choice and this hotel is strategicaly located within walking distance to all. The Beach is a little dissapointed though compared to Kanapaali or Kihei etc...but heck..the sea is quite rough so don't think you will enjoy swimming, you will prefer surfing anyway.
“Good for the money”
The hotel is not brand new but they do a great job with what they have - they are right on the beach (although it's not great for swimming). The view at the sea and at the mountain are both excellent in the top floors, and it is only a 5 minute walk from the downtown of Lahaina.

“I can't wait to go back”
This is my second time staying at Lahaina shores and I absolutely love it! This time I brought my parents with us and they enjoyed it as well. They are now saying, "next time," which is what brought us back the second time. It is in the best area where you could walk mostly everywhere. You are right on Front St and that's where everyone wants to go when they are in Lahaina. It is also a very quick ride to Kaanapali beach and you can book all of your activities right at the hotel. You can also cook in your room if you want because it is a condo, which is also another plus. Ocean view is worth the extra money!
“Right location, right ammenities”
The rooms in this hotel were very functional and enjoyable. The views from both sides were great just different, either the ocean or the mountains. The reception at check in was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were serviced every day and all of the services worked. It was not a fancy hotel, but for a couple or family on a budget it offered an outstanding value.

stayed in cheapest mountainview studio room, but still very large, comfortable and affordable; great kitchen, but wish there were more cups, bowls & plates (4 of each); excellent location
“Awesome location”
This is a great hotel for the price. Decor is nice and simple and the place was always clean. Quiet for the most part, too. We had an ocean-front room on the 4th floor complete with books and some old VHS titles. Sinatra fans, they had Von Ryan's Express! We awoke to the sound of waves (even with the AC cranking) and went to sleep with the reflection of the moon off the water. The beach is so-so, but so darn close we couldn't help but jump in a couple of times for 5 minutes. The kitchenette is great, though we never made use of anything beyond the fridge and some glasses. The hotel's location is great if you need to hit an ABC Store or the Whaler right next door for extra shampoo, souvenirs, or rum! There's a Whaler's general store next door. The harbor is a 5-minute walk and saved our rears when we were running late for our dinner cruise. We enjoyed the Kihei/Wailea area much more than Lahaina, but then again, we were sleeping 50 feet from the water! Only complaints were the road resurfacing on Front St. and the front desk's inability to help us park when we first arrived, and the daily 40-minute traffic into Lahaina. Let's hear it for the proposed bypass!
“Nice hotel for the price”
This hotel will be perfect for people who would want a nice place to sleep with good service, and would prefer to spend their money out enjoying the island. Hotel is within walking distance to Lahaina, with plenty of shopping and eating. The beach here is not very wide, just enough to really walk up and down while enjoying the view. (Lay out at Ka'anapali where the major resorts are.) Pay for the ocean view. The mountain view looks over the parking lot and the local entry level homes across the street. Since this hotel is off the beaten path, you won't have a million people walking around or lots of kids screaming. I wouldn't bother trying to save money using the kitchen. With high grocery prices, you're not going to save that much money and you'll miss out on some good traditional food. The parking garage comments are true, it does smell a little funky. Not much for kids here. The pool and hot tub are small. Overall, nice hotel for the budjet price.
