“Happy Ending”
We had a problem with our room when we first arived, however the hotel manager fix it fast and with professional results. We were very happy with the hotel and the staff. Would stay here again.
“HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
Close to black rock, the best snorkeling and Olowalu even better snorkeling is just down the road. Up the highway is great too but not in winter as the water is too rough. The grounds are great. Staff is wonderful. So so helpful with everything. For a budget place it was fabulous. We will be back for sure. Get one of the cabins not the hotel.
“Great for the price, but hard mattress and pillows.”
As in the other reviews - this is the older 3 story building on the same property as the Royal Lahaina, so you have access to the pools, restaurant, beach etc, but you're sleeping in an older building on a rock hard mattress, overlooking the nightly Luau (supposedly the worst Luau in all of Hawaii, so pick a different one to go to while you're there). Luau ends around 9, so you won't lose sleep over it. Great location - convenient to Lahaina. The restaurant is great - on par with quality and price with the others in the area - try their pina colada served in a pineapple! The room was clean and quiet (except for the Luau). Staff was freindly. Facilities were great. Can't beat the price for the area. Only complaint was the mattress and pillows seemed to be made of cement.
“A hidden gem.”
This hotel was fabulous for it's location --right on the beach and on a beautiful part of the beach. You have all the amenities of the bigger resort if you so wish but for this price to be listening to the waves crash on the beach each night --wow --fabulous. :) I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Sure it's an older building but that means the rooms are much larger than the new builds and rooms were clean. I hope this lovely find doesn't get dozed to put up a big tower!! It's luxury is in it's location steps from the beach --in Maui that IS my definition of luxury. Cheers!
“Great location”
We had a great time in Maui. We could see the ocean from our lanai. The room smelled a bit must when we first got there, but the weather was perfect, so we left the lanai door open and it was fine after that. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The price was great for the area, and Kaanapali Beach is amazing, great snorkeling within walking distance.
“Awesome location, good price!”
The Kaanapali Ocean Inn is at the end of Kekaa Dr. which is right past The Royal Lahaina Resort. You check in at the Royal Lahaina Resort. The first night we got in late and opted for vallet parking because we couldn't find a spot. Vallet is $15 per day and Self parking is $10 per day. Our room was right next to the Luau area. Good food. We were lucky that Sat. night to hear Third Eye Blind while sitting on our lanai, the kids were jealous when we told them! The hotel is on the beach and we were able to use the Royal Lahaina's pool. Lahaina is about 3 miles down the hwy. We shopped at Safeway for our food. There was a refer and a sink in our room. Our sunset dinner coctail cruise was really nice. Saw some whales. (The Pacific Whale Foundation) Great trip!
“Will stay there in the future.”
While the hotel and cottages are the oldest they were well kept. The staff was all friendly and helpful. I will stay there on any future trips and have recomended it to others. Even the groundskeepers were pleasant and made you feel welcome. The grounds and view of the ocean made the stay enjoyable. I can't say enough about the staff and will remember Melvin and Lovely most of all. My son and I enjoyed our stay though short and will look forward to going back.
“Great Value Option”
My wife, granddaughter and I stayed at the Kaanapali Ocean Inn during our recent visit to Maui. The building was constructed in the 60's and it doesn't look like it has an overhaul since. However, the room was clean and furnished with all the necessities. The property is managed by the same staff who run the Royal Lahaina next door and all are professional and deliver great service. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and feel at home. The primary issue in our room was the bathroom. It needed some drywall repair and a couple tiles in the shower were loose. However, the hotel is still a great value option because of it's location on the one of the most desirable beaches in Maui. You can use all the amenities at the Royal Lahaina while paying a heck of a lot less per night. We'd return without hesitation.
“Beautiful Ocean-Side Setting”
We were very pleased with our accomodations. The Kannapali Ocean Inn gave us a free room upgrade. We were on the outside of a golf course, short walk accross the hotel grounds to the ocean. Had a totally wonderful experience. Hotel staff from the receptionist, food staff, cleaning and grounds keepers were all very guest friendly. We woud definately return to this hotel.
“Exactly what you expect to see after the thought passes through your head.”
Gotta check it out!
