Relaxed atmosphere.

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: Relaxing! Beautiful grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff. .
Cons: It will be nice when all the rooms are renovated. I miss the former breakfast that used to be included with your stay.
Location: Beautiful location. Lots to do in the vicinity. Many amenities for purchase at Whaler's or ABC. There is a Safeway in Kihei.
I've stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed each visit. The older, unrenovated rooms are definitely well worn, so if you need a 'shiny and new' sort of room, be sure to request a renovated suite. The breakfast buffet isn't what it used to be - it's now just coffee/tea and a single pastry. I believe all rooms have a fridge and small stove, so you can always purchase breakfast items in advance or have breakfast at the hotel restaurant. This hotel isn't on the beach, but the beach is only a quick drive away. This hotel is well suited to couples, friends travelling together or solo travelers. Except for very young or older children, most kids would be bored at this venue. A family oriented hotel would be a better choice.

Gorgeous grounds and views

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: -quiet -beautifully appointed -excellent staff
Cons: -gym was missing some weights -bed a bit soft -kitchen sink was teeny weeny
Location: Hotel Wailea is up the hill. A car is a MUST, but this is part of the appeal. Little traffic noise and away from it all.
The room was fantastic! I'm always a bit nervous about booking a hotel that I've never stayed at or heard about, but this was perfect. It is a hotel, with a condo feel. We had a garden view AND a stunning ocean view. There was no need to watch the sunset from a restaurant or bar when we had the best views right from our lanai. The property was quiet and secure. We left our door unlocked a few times by accident ( as well as the ground level lanai) and had not trouble. The property is fairly large so there is a bit of walking to do, but the beautiful gardens and waterfalls make the short walks enjoyable. The small kitchen area had a bar fridge and double hot plate which was plenty for us. We ate our suppers out about very third night and made 2 grocery runs in the 12 days we were there. There was also a super handy laundry room right off the pool deck, so we threw a couple loads in while we were sitting at the pool.....great way to do laundry!! Loved everything and would stay here again!

Excellent overall experience except restaurant dinner menu limited and expensive. Even based on Hawaii standards.

Amazing Service

Posted 17-Mar-2014
We went for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The rooms were huge and the service was absolutely fantastic. We had breakfast every morning at Capishe and asked for milk for our coffee the first day. Every day after that, the milk was brought without asking. Carrie at the hotel bar was amazing. We wanted bloody marias but she did not have V8 or tomatoe juice. The next day, she stopped at the Safeway and we had our drinks. The shuttle anywhere in Wailea was fantastic also. Great place to stay if you want to be pampered!!!

Nice hidden gem!

Posted 23-Feb-2014
This hotel is in a serene location within Wailea. Although not right on the beach, access is simple, especially with a great bell staff to drive you there and back. We had a panoramic view room with a beautiful view. The room will be even nicer when it's upgraded like the one our travel companions experienced. The upgrades are first class, Capische restaurant is a must; great food and service. Opportunities: add more lounge type areas, for folks to sit and enjoy an evening libation. There were families with kids. I would say this is a much more adult property. Mahalo Hotel Wailea for a great vacation!

Great Place to Stay

Posted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: The quiet setting with fantastic ocean views, waterfalls, palm trees, flowers and pathways.
Cons: Parking is very tight. Earlier pool and hot tub hours.
Location: Both Luau at the Grand Wailea or Marriott. Lots of beaches. We liked Little Beach the best, except for the blackness it leaves on your feet.
Hotel Wailea was an awesome place to stay. Staff was very helpful. The setting there offers a quiet place away from the busy center with many romantic or relaxing opportunities. All the amenities are great, all with fantastic ocean views. The suites are quiet and comfortable. Hotel Wailea gifted us with a free bottle of champagne for our second honeymoon. The views there were fantastic, especially the sunsets over the ocean, between the Palm trees. Their beach is a short drive away and have comfortable lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. The beach has nice sand and is great for swimming, our first time in the ocean. They have many paths/walkways under the Palm trees and flowers, waterfalls, brooks everwhere that made our morning walks so enjoyable. Being from Alaska we really enjoyed the birds chirping and all the flowers. They have their own orchard where you can go and pick hawaiian fruits. A few small negetives would be the parking is really tight but the valet service takes care of that, and I would like the pool and hot tub area to open up earlier for those like myself who prefer early moring swims.

Musty and noisy

Posted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: Very friendly staff
While the staff were very friendly and very willing to help you out, out room was musty smelling, grungy feeling, and very noisy given it backed on to a road that everyone seemed to tear through at all hours. With that said, they are in the process of renovating the units and the new units looks much, much better than the one we stayed in. When we booked the hotel it was based on pictures of the renovated suites so it was an extreme let down to be placed in one of the old units. Probably would not stay there ever again due to the road noise.
