“Great choice in Wilea”
Great Hotel, they aren't on the waterfront so their prices are far more reasonable than other resorts in the area, but they still provide free shuttle service, towels, etc. so you can fully enjoy the beach. Extremely quite location and very nice staff. Highly recommended.
“Hotel Wailea”
The website for this hotel does not do it justice! Its better than the usual hotel - no big building with long hallways to walk in. The grounds have 21 buildings each with 4 suites that are accessed from outside. The rooms have a large sitting area, kitchenette, dining room table, patio, large separate bedroom & bathroom. The rooms need a little renovation but the manager has told us they have plans to complete renovations to the rooms & spa this summer. The Main Lobby building & pool area were so beautiful - waterfalls & pools with at least 100 Koi fish, amazing traditional Hawaiian or Tahitian architecture and a wonderful Italian restaurant - food was so good although a little pricy . Since it was a smaller hotel on such a LARGE piece of property the hotel was VERY quiet and relaxing. The pool area was quite trendy with cabana beds, day beds, lounge chairs. Good size pool, refreshments & then upstairs was a traditional Japanese spa (his & hers spa). The hotel was a little remote but they had access to the Grand Wailea & a section of the beach at that resort - with a shuttle service to take you & pick you up. But if you rented a car in Maui then this hotel is great. You can easily drive down the hill & walk the Wailea shores. We will most definately stay here again!
“Hidden treasure”
My husband and I were highly impressed by this hotel, and would definately go back. It has some of the most beautiful landscaping and gardens that you will find. Because the suites are in four plexes, it feels less like a resort and more like private condos, very quiet and peaceful. The suites are very large and clean, we stayed in a partial ocean view which gives a top floor and really beautiful ocean view, well worth the upgrade from the gardenview. The only potential down side of this hotel is that it is a little farther drive to amenities than some, as it is tucked away up on the hillside. It is also about a 5 minute drive to the beach, all downhill, so if you are walking, plan on a long uphill climb back to the hotel. There is access to plenty of beaches within a very short drive, so the fact that this hotel isn't on the beach really didn't bother us. The shuttle (Cadillac Escalade) will also take you where ever you want to go at any time. The continental breakfast is decent, for being continental. We tried Capiche (very high end, and the only restaurant on the property), and it was a bit pricy for the amount and quality of the food. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet getaway, it is not in the center of the action, so if thats what you want, go to Kihei. Another bonus - we didn't have to be evacuated from this hotel during the tsunami, as it is on high enough ground!
“Definitely a place to return to!”
After researching traveller's opinions in Expedia, we chose Hotel Wailea for a 5 night stay in December. We picked a deluxe ocean view 1br. The accomodation was very comfortable and gave us everything we wanted. It's a place for a peaceful time, since you are away from the resorts. Mostly all adults when we were there. The pool, gardens, spa, are all simply super. Lots of places to hang out and catch up on your reading. The staff was very friendly, even maintenance and gardening crews. Good shuttle service to the beach and Grand Wailea. It works very well. If you are looking for a restful easy stay in Maui, you'll have a hard time improving on the value here.
“Relaxing and Private”
The hotel is beautiful. Perfect for couples that just want to relax in privacy. Probably not the best hotel for a family with high energy children as there is not much to keep them entertained and a trip to the beach requires a trip on the complimentary shuttle. The restaurant and room service, while not cheap, is very good. The restaurant is worth the trip even if you are not staying at the hotel. The staff are great.
“Great and Romantic Hotel Wailea”
This really is a Great hotel. The Staff is excellent and even though you are not on the beach, the Shuttle will drive and pick you up anywhere in Wailea. We used this service numerous times and the guys were happy to do it (plus I'm sure they love driving the Escalade around town) The hotel is older in style but does not look old and tired. It doesn't NEED a renovation as it is very clean well kept. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning (Amazing Banana Bread, Soft fresh bagels, fresh fruit, POG and Kona coffee). Pool and Spa is nothing like the Grand Wailea but for Couples it is perfect. The have a Japanese style bathing room that was really cool to see and the hot tub has amazing views of the ocean. All the rooms are the same, it just depends on how much ocean you can see from your lanai. I would Highly recommend this hotel to couples.
“Great Honeymoon Hotel”
Hotel rooms were great, they say they are renovating but we weren't sure why. However, we saw another room and it looked to be missing a few furniture items. We did have an upgraded room too so maybe that was why. Hotel staff was great all around. Pool was very quiet but perfect. Only thing is they need to change the music up. It cycled the same music every hour. View from the room was amazing to see the sunset and stars. Breakfast was ok but I suggest if you want cereal to being your own. Only served bagels, fruit and beverages. You could buy a yogurt parfait for $7. The capishe restaurant was amazing but small portions. Overall, I would totally go back! Also, check out mulligains tap house at the golf course for live music!

“Best hotel!”
Best hotel I've stayed at in Hawaii! Highly recommended! Amenities are great and service is excellent! You get your luggages carried with you in a golf cart to your hotel room, how awesome is that!
“Enjoyed the stay. Excellent service and staff”
Everything was good except for the continental breakfast was same every day. Variation is needed. Otherwise excellent hotel enjoyed our stay. excellent staff.
