“Loved it! Will definitely go back!”
We stayed at this hotel based off of other reviews we read on Expedia about the hotel. It is true - the beach is "BAM" right there! All rooms in this condo-style hotel are ocean view! There are bars, shops and restaurants across the street. Though this is not a 5-star, I would choose this over one any day for the beauty, convenience and relaxing atmosphere.
“Love Maui”
"Outstanding" is the best way to describe our stay at Hale Pau Hana, unit 16. The proximity to the beach made our vacation memorable. Our unit was clean, updated and had all that we needed. Having breakfast on the lanai, watching the boats head to Molokini was great. The grounds and pool are well maintained, perfect for watching the sun set. The snorkeling was good from the South end of the beach. The are many restaurants you can easily walk to. Kehei is a busy place but it is centrally located which we liked. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Maui.
“A wonderful place to stay”
This is the best place to stay if you're looking for quiet condos. Awesome beach access to a gorgeous beach, centrally located, and beautiful rooms. We weren't looking for the large resort with waterfalls and swimming pools. This place was like our own home. Try to get a first floor beach front room, not one of the rooms in the high rise.
“Great place for the money!”
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We arrived having previously spent a week in Lahaina and had high expectations. We were initially confused as there was no main entrance/lobby so we just wandered around the back. WOW, what a view. Immaculate grass area leading to the amazing beach suitable for families & couples alike. Great snorkeling (we saw a turtle!) as there are small areas of reef just 20m from shore! Checked in and was REALLY IMPRESSED by the condo. As a couple it was huge with a seperate beedroom with ensuite, big living area, decent kitchen area and of course a lanai with amazing view. What we noticed is what a friendly community was therem probably as the condo's are privately owned so have many frequent visitors creating a friendly atmosphere. You need a car to get around here but a local cab service gets you to many close by restaurants/bars etc.
“Very nice place”
This is a great, inexpensive place to stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and our balcony overlooking the ocean was fantastic. We could hear the waves at night and had a great stay. My only complaint is not about the hotel but about Kihei -- it's probably the least glamorous place to stay on Maui -- lots of strip malls.
“Great view and access to a beach.”
Great ocean view, right on the beach. The ground floor condo that we were in had access right to the beach. All the ground floor units have this as well.
“Perfect vacation!”
We chose a condo to give us the flexibility of preparing some of our own meals to save money. So glad we did. I picked Hale Pau Hana based on write-up and other reviews. We stayed on 1st floor just steps away from the pool and down the steps to the wonderful beach. (check out the live webcam on their home page)Perfect for a family of 4. We had the master bedroom w/bath and our daughters had 2 daybeds in living area and the 2nd bath. Full kitchen (stove, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, fridge, blender, utensils & pans).Everything worked.Quiet location and meticulous grounds. Foodland grocery store discount card on your room key. Shops(souvenir & supplies) & eateries across the street. They were preparing to renovate the parking lot a few days after we left. Snorkeling just off the beach (to the right around reef off the rocks, use a pool noodle,go in a.m. for best views and don't go alone)
“Just a wonderful, fun place!”
Hale Pau Hana is a terrific place to stay in Kehei. The condo is great, the beach so beautiful and fun to walk. The entertainment on Tuesday nights is fantastic. The two weeks at Hale Pau Hana was WONDERFUL!
“Great Condo/Amazing View”
This Condo is perfectly placed. It is very close to Wailea and McKenna/Big Beach. The grounds are kept up really nice and the view is amazing! You won't find a better view from your room in any other hotel/condo, for an awesome price as well. It is an older complex, but the rooms were really nice and clean. I would stay there again and plan to on our next trip!
“"Will most definitely return"”
We absolutely loved the property! It is just steps away from the beach. It is sitting right on Kam. Beach II and has a wonderful sandy beach and great swimming for the whole family. We loved sitting out on the lanai and listening to the waves. Everything you need is in close proximity. The rooms were clean and we received exceptional service. We cannot wait to return and stay here again.
