Facing the blue Pacific Ocean, Aston Kaanapali Shores resort is one mile from Whalers Village shopping and dining, two miles from the Kaanapali's golf courses, and five miles from Kapalua's golf courses.
The resort offers three complimentary tennis courts, two pools with spa tubs, a beachfront fitness center (surcharge), a sauna, barbecue grills, and a salon with ocean-side outdoor massage. A tropical koi-pond garden leads to a wedding gazebo.
Camp Kaanapali children's program for ages 5-12 operates on a seasonal schedule (surcharge; reservations required).
A farmers market across the street sells hot, prepared dishes in addition to salads and organic produce.

Rooms
Aston Kaanapali Shores offers 463 guestrooms, studios, and suites located in the nine-story main building and a four-story wing (elevator access to all units). Island-style decor includes wicker and rattan furnishings, botanical and Hawaiian quilt art, and pineapple-motif lamps. Wireless Internet access is available.
Suites and studios have private lanai and fully equipped kitchens. Suites also have washer/dryers and dining sets. Hotel rooms do not have lanai, refrigerators, or washer/dryers, but coin-operated washer/dryers are available on several floors.
Smoking is not permitted inside hotel rooms.

Dining
Beach Club Restaurant - Located poolside, facing beach. Indoor and fresh-air seating. Casual, family-friendly restaurant open all day. Steaks, pastas, local seafood for dinner. Full bar specializing in tropical drinks.
Recreation
Aston Kaanapali Shores is located directly along the golden-tan sands of Kaanapali Beach. The resort rents beach equipment such as boogie boards and kayaks. The beachfront fitness center (surcharge) includes a sauna. Two freeform pools are surrounded by sundecks with spa tubs.
Guests enjoy complimentary use of three lighted tennis courts. Scuba diving, snorkeling, and other activities (surcharges) can be arranged through the front desk. The resort offers complimentary scuba lessons in the beachfront pool.
Kaanapali's golf courses are two miles south. Kapalua's golf courses and golf academy are five miles north. Other West Maui activities include mountain hiking, boating, skydiving, and parasailing. From around December through April or mid-May, humpback whales can sometimes be spotted from the resort's grounds.

Camp Kaanapali is offered to children ages 5 - 12. Camp activities include a variety of Hawaiian cultural and outdoor-based activities such as hula dancing, ukulele lessons, beach exploration, lei making, sand art, kite making/flying, swimming, scavenger hunts, games, arts, and crafts.
2009 Camp Kaanapali schedule:
One-time registration fee of $10 per child includes a t-shirt. Daily rate of $25 per child includes meals. Registration must be made 24 hours in advance upon arrival at the resort. Registration is held at 8 AM at the Camp Kaanapali Center in room 135. Friday evening sessions include dinner. Space is limited to 16 participants per session. Children who are ill may not attend. Camp Kaanapali is located at the Aston Kaanapali Shores and is available to registered guests of all Aston properties on Maui.

We only stayed for a couple of days, but, the setting was wonderful, the room was very comfortable, clean and loaded with amenities. Our room faced the ocean, and it was great to stand or sit on the balcony and gaze at the beautiful view. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!! Rich, Ogden Utah
“Don't be fooled by the bargain price - this place delivers!”
We were so impressed with our experience at this hotel! I booked a studio condo several months in advance for what I thought was a great price. We were expecting a one-room condo with a small kitchenette. So we were stunned upon arrival when they gave us a complimentary upgrade to an ocean-view king suite on the second story - two bedrooms, separate living room, full kitchen, two full baths - THE WORKS! The view was STUNNING and the suite was immaculate. I never expected to get anything so nice for such a fabulous price! The hotel staff was exceptionally accomadating and friendly ... they even provided us with a crib for our daughter. There was also a sort of orientation meeting the morning after we arrived that provided helpful information about places to see and activities on the island,etc. The hotel has a gorgeous, airy design with a lush courtyard and is only steps from the beach. The location of this hotel is absolutely ideal - very convienient to shopping, restaurants ... even a small farmers' market and grocery store. Easy drive to Lahaina. The beaches and views are STUNNING. The location is great for visitors, but feels much less "touristy" than other areas of Maui. 100% reccommend!

“Always come back to this hotel”
This was our fourth trip to Maui, and the fourth time staying at this hotel. We love it here. We usually stay in a Garden View room, which has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and most importantly, a washer and dryer in the unit - which is great because you can pack light. The restaurant on-sight serves the best breakfasts, and there is a grocery store right across the street - which is wonderful because you have a full size kitchen. Kaanapali Beach is beautiful, and you're just minutes away from Lahaina. Lastly, the staff is excellent. Super friendly and accommodating. I will continue to stay here every time we come to Maui. This resort has become a second home to us.

“Absolute Paradise”
Our stay at Aston Kaanapali Shores was incredible! We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom ocean-view suites. We were on the 7th floor with a HUGE wrap-around lanai overlooking the ocean and one of the pools. Our three year old was in seventh Heaven and spent most of the week in one of the two pools. The beach right out in front of the hotel is small, but lovely. My husband and I went snorkeling there and saw more tropical fish and sea turtles than we did on the boat excursion to Molokini! I will definitely stay here again if we ever get to go back to Maui!
“Excellent Value”
This was our second stay at this hotel/condo and we couldn't be happier. We have two little ones (1 & 3) and the hotel had everything needed for a young family - the rooms are child friendly, having a washer and dryer was a lifesaver. The grounds are beautiful and again perfect for kids, two separate swimming pools and easy access to the beach, there is also a nice big green space where kids are able to run until exhaustion. We will definitely be coming back.
