Special Check-In Instructions

During normal office hours, guests check in at the hotel's lobby. For after-hour arrivals, security guards and a 24-hour courtesy phone provide assistance.

Promotions

Camp Kaanapali is offered to children ages 5 – 12. Camp activities include a variety of Hawaiian cultural and outdoor-based activities such as hula dancing, ukulele lessons, beach exploration, lei making, sand art, kite making/flying, swimming, scavenger hunts, games, arts, and crafts. Both day and evening sessions are available. One-time registration fee of $10 per child includes a t-shirt. Daily rate of $25 per child includes meals. Registration must be made 24 hours in advance upon arrival at the resort. Registration is held daily at 8 AM at the Camp Kaanapali Center in room 135. Camp Kaanapali hours are Monday – Friday (with the exception of major holidays), 8 AM – 2 PM. Friday evening sessions are 5 PM – 9 PM and include dinner. Space is limited to 16 participants per session. Children who are ill may not attend.

Note: Camp Kaanapali is located at the Aston Kaanapali Shores and is available to registered guests of all Aston properties on Maui.

Aston at the Maui Banyan's 256 guestrooms and condo units are spread over eight buildings ranging from two to five stories; buildings three stories and higher have elevators. All accommodations have private, furnished lanais, air conditioning, 27-inch cable TVs, complimentary wireless Internet access, and in-room safes (surcharge). Standard guestrooms have compact refrigerators and coffeemakers.

The Kihei condo units offer washers and dryers and kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, coffeemakers, cookware, and dinnerware. Bathrooms have showers only or shower/tub combinations.

Smoking is not permitted inside hotel rooms.

“nice place.”

had problem with the service. the maid did'nt change our sheet the days we spent there. poor service from the maid. Other wise, it would have been a wonderful stay.

“Not at all impressed”

While the location of this hotel is very convenient, the staff are not curteous. the first day we noticed that there is no AC in master bed room and the fan is not working, since we noticed that at around 10 PM, they said the maintenance staff is gone and will take care next day. next day after 3 phone calls the maintenqance guy shows up at around 9 PM and told us that this is a known issue and he was not sure why they assigned the room. Then the staff (no apologies) moved us to a complete different building at that hour :( the next one was good however, surpriosngly it had AC working and there was one in MAster bed room also which was working.

Must see

Drive to hana, you can come make a loop around haleakal mountain, we started at 7 and c ompleted the loop to Kihei by 5 PM.

“Very happy with Aston”

Our room appeared to be brand new, very clean and very quiet. Perfect! Other rooms may not have been as nice, but ours was great. Staff was very helpful and pleasant as well. The Aston also did little things, like made sure we had laundry soap, dish soap, fresh towels whenever we wanted them, and let you know that they had some complimentary toiletries in case you forget something. Only negative was that parking (in a garage) was a little far from the room, involved steps, and had a height limit that may not allow vehicles with surf boards, sailboards or stand up paddle boards. Not really a significant negative. We were very happy with the Aston.

Area recommendations

We like Kihei because it's usually more sunny, has nice beaches, has lots of amenities within easy walking or driving distance, and is the side of the island near snorkeling, stand up paddling, and surfing. It's a pretty easy drive, as well, to the other side of the island for windsurfing. We don't have experience staying in other areas of the island.

“Shabby, outdated - but good location for beach”

My husband, 8-month old and I just spent 5 nights at the Aston Maui Banyan. While the location was great for going to the beach (right across from Kamaole II Beach), the decor was severely outdated and grungy. It was great that the room came equipped with full kitchen, washer/ dryer and 2 bathroms, but the carpet, sofa, and bedding were worn out and stained. The couch was in such poor condition that it was difficult to sit on -- the foam has completely worn out so that the cushions slanted toward the front and the entire sofa was uneven. The room did come with a new-ish flat screen TV in the living room, and a Playstation (included in the $10/ day resort fee) -- but that wasn't enough to make up for the outdated elements in the rest of the room.

Area recommendations

Kihei is a great area -- walking distance to beaches, but Kaanapali also seems great and I think we will stay there the next time we go to Maui.

“great apartments if you are going to stay for a few days!”

We spent a week in their Ocean partial view 1 bedroom apartment and we loved it! it was all new, had an incredible kitchen, bathroom, and a great balcony to wath the sunsets. you have everything you need to cook (pots, pans, utensils,....) and that makes everything very easy if you want to stay in and save some money some nights. WIthin walking distance to restaurants, shops, and just across from the street from the beach. the people at the front desk were very helful during the whole week and we will be back for sure!

“A wonderful surprise!”

We were expecting a much lower class of hotel for the price we paid. It was in an excellent location, convenient to beaches and stores. The landscaping was beautiful and we had a recently renovated room which was practically perfect. The only improvement we could have wished for was a comfortable reading chair in the room with good reading light. We had to take the lampshades off our lamps to read by. We were fortunate to have a kitchenette though--much appreciated! Thank you, Aston Maui Banyon!

Area recommendations

Kehei was much preferred by us over the Kaanapali Beach area, which is too richy-touristy for our taste. We felt more like we were locals in Kehei, and the parking and shopping were much more convenient and affordable!

Outdoors or beach

We bought two inexpensive beach chairs and a styrofoam ice chest at Longs, and left them with a note for someone else to help themselves and then pass along to someone else when they too left the Islands. We did all the usual drives--Haleakula and Hana, and then spent one day in the Up Country--Hwy 37, which was really beautiful too, but not as popular.

“More apartment than hotel. Great place to stay.”

This place was great. We had a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom unit on the 1st floor. It was a HUGE room. There is a full kitchen with everything you could want/need. There is a washer/dryer in the unit, and they even give you detergent. The king size bed was comfy. The furniture was a little dated, but that did not bother us (all the furniture in Maui is dated compared to the mainland I think). All the furniture was in great shape. We did not visit the pools or tennis courts. The location was great, very close to everything, even the beach is just across the street. The staff was great, at checkout we were able to leave our bags with the front desk, but since our flight did not leave until 10pm, they set up for us to use another room for an hour so we could shower and change after we got back from the beach before we went to the airport. Even after we had checked out they still gave us towels to take to the beach with us. The only thing I didn't like was the $10/night resort fee. This covers the in room safe, newspaper, and movie and game rentals. We actually didn't mind this charge in the end. Each day when we were tired and came back to the room from the beach we were able to sit and watch a new release movie while we were getting ready for dinner. There are PS2's in each unit and you can rent games just like movies in the lobby (included in the resort fee). If we are ever able to go back to Maui, we will stay here for sure. It was much more like a home than a hotel.

“Not Impressed”

Good location. The hotel looks really nice from the outside. I had a standard hotel room. The bedspread was old. It looked so bad that I didn't want to sit on it. The furniture except the TV should be updated. The houskeeping service is not the best. They didn't provide hand soap until I complained.

Area recommendations

For little more money you can stay at Maui Coast (nearby). The rooms are very nice and the service is better.
