“Quaint old Swiss guest house”

We arrived by train into Interlaken Ost and caught the number 104 bus from outside the station and got off at Sommer Hotel Stop about a 10 min ride.The owners were very helpful,the beds soft, and the breakfast was a buffet style with loads to choose from and the decor was old wooden low beams so you wouldnt want to be too tall.The full size bath was a bonus and also the restaurants nice and handy just up the road.

“Very helpful staff! Worked with our lack of German”

A motel with only 20 rooms - quaint, feels like a bed and breakfast. The deluxe rooms are the largest we stayed at in Europe. Creaky floors, yes; but it added to the atmosphere. We adjusted to the bathroom just fine. We were very relieved to be able to speak with the hotel staff in English. They not only got us checked in and oriented to Interlaken, they gave very helpful advice on area attractions.

“Great old building, excellent restaurant, almost inside Interlaken.”

This is an old mountain style chalet-hotel. The building dates from the 1600's, so it is solid wood everywhere, with low ceilings. We had a brand new bathroom, a spacious room with a view of the Alps, comfortable bed and feather decke, spacious desk and WiFi. The breakfast is in a quaint "Stube" and there is an excellent restaurant downstairs. The raclette was great, you can grill your own meats on a hot stone they bring, if you like, or you can order any of the classic Swiss specialties. The "half-board" is an especially good deal, if you're interesting in eating there every night. You are right on the edge between Matten and Interlaken. It is a 10 minute walk to the Hotel Victoria-Jungfra and the Cafe Schuh in the middle of Interlaken,

Conviently located. Friendly, helpful staff. Quie. Well maintained. Very attractive environs - the town of Interlaken and nearby mountains.

“It a right hotel for tourists”

This hotel is about 15 minutes walking distance from Interlaken OST train station. There are buses from the train station but I walked since it was not a problem for me. It is in a very quite neighborhood. The hotel and restaurant employees are very friendly. I had a small room for myself. It includes a twin size bed, wood floor and bathroom with shower. It is very clear. The breakfast is better than USA's continental breakfast. I like it. I hope the small 13" tube TV would be upgraded to a better one. As a tourist for one or two nights, I would stay in the hotel again.

“Gets the Job Done”

The Hotel was a ten-fifteen minute walk from town but the location wasn't bad. Right down the street are a couple of fun hostels (Balmers and Funny Farm), which have a really fun night life. There is also a great Thai restaurant a 2 minute walk away and all of the outdoor adventure bookings are also in that area. The hotel was small (literally small, my boyfriend couldn't fit in the door or take a shower standing up), but it was doable. The price was nice and the breakfast (included) was one of the best we had on our whole trip while visiting Switzerland.

A lovely character hotel. Good breakfast. Good location. Generous sized room. Suited all our needs. Oh and good price!

“ok wouldn't stay there again”

The hotel staff was friendly but not overly friendly. It had creaky floors so you heard everyone walking. The carpets in the rooms need replacing. The shower didn't drain real well. They did have a real nice breakfast the staff in the morning was not so kind. The room itself had a beautiful view of the mountains. Hotel was on the bus route so it was easy to catch bus to train terminal or downtown. It was a decent location.
