we chose this place for the free breakfast that they said was open until 9:00 am. we planned to just grab a yogurt and OK right before 9. The guy was cleaning the last breakfast item a few minutes before 9 and he said it closed at 9...It takes more than s couple minutes to shut down and clean the full breakfast area, so I don't know at what time he started shutting down, but super disappointed because they lied about their timings!!! If breakfast closes at 9, then they should not start shutting down before 9!!!

We had a medical emergency so had to have our service dog with us. Very friendly staff helped us.

Check in was quick and easy, front desk attendants were nice. We checked in late at night as we were just staying for a few hours to sleep before driving the rest of the way home. Upon getting to room, the door was ajar and light was already on. When we went in, there was an unpleasant odor in the room so my friend opened the window which fell of the track, thankfully he caught it and it did not break. There were two dead bugs on the floor in the bathroom, the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling covered by a plastic shopping bag, when I went to look at the bedding, the sheets on one of the beds were dirty, the coverlet on that same bed looked unclean, and the beds had fleece-type which had hair on them. I did check all the towels even though we only used one hand towel and they were all clean.

I was most unhappy with the service. Rooms were not touched until I spoke up on the Wednesday (4 days into my stay). I stayed Saturday-following Sunday (8 nights), and they didn't give me clean towels except when I threw the dirty ones in the hallway (like everyone else was doing). My bed wasn't made until Wednesday, after I complained I needed new towels. It was very inconveinent. The breakfast bar was okay. Not "horrible" but overly exciting - the bananas were brown. It was in a conveinent location, to Knoxville Raceway - easy 30 minute drive. Be prepared to drive to Altoona, if you want more options for food - as there's very limited places in nearby for food - a subway, a perkins, a KFC/taco bell, a Casey's - that's it.

There was no shower curtain, the tub/shower area was moldy, the room carpet felt damp or wet. It appeared that the stairs and hallway hadn't been vacuumed. The pm desk attendant seemed grouchy and terse. This was quite a decline from the last time we stayed at this property and will be looking for other accommodations on our next stay in Newton, IA.

So ... first of all ... it's a Super 8. I would call it more or a Sort of Super 5. The, who I assume to be the owners, were very nice and made us feel comfortable at check-in. I believe they have really good intentions, but have a property that is a bit tired. Overall the room was clean and updated. The side door on the outside of the building remained unlocked during our stay and there was old furniture in the hallways I would assume this property will only get better with time since the remodel seems to still be going on. That being said, it's a Super 8, so I believe this property met our expectations and if we are ever in the area and need a quick overnight accommodation, we would probably stay again.

This had to be the worst Super 8 I have ever stayed in. The building and surrounding area was unkept and depressing. Although, the front desk clerk was very pleasant, this would be the only positive of this hotel. Room smelled like it had just conducted a "Dog Show" in it, and bedding smelled extremely musty. Laundry facilities were not working, and outer side door was covered with cigarette butts. Would never stay here again.

This was my second stay in less than 2 months and always a good stay. Casey's is right next door and room is spacious. Nice RV parking.

The staff was friendly and i like the setup and size of the room. I especially liked the couch. It was a nice touch. Also has good parking for RVs and Commercial Trucks (UPS Walk-in style trucks).

Solid overnight place to stay
Stayed overnight before a family reunion in town. No issues staying here at all. Quiet, clean, affordable. I've stayed here before and will likely again if I need to in the future.

Not a good experience
The bathroom shower curtain rod was loose, causing water on the floor. Housekeeping did not stop at our room in one day, had to get clean towels and Kleenex at office. Parking lot had lots of litter. Toilet seat was loose. Secondary entrance was filthy. Found Cheerios on the carpet, had a hole in bathroom ceiling. Truly gone downhill since last visit. Will not be returning.
