Riad Kniza

Riad Kniza - 34 Derb l'Hotel, Marrakech - Map

It’s a great Raid, different from a hotel as its smaller and in the old city (Médina). Close enough to most things in Marrakech you can walk, even in July. The food at the hotel is amazing, the breakfasts are wonderful but the dinners are something very special, and cheaper than any of the other Raids we ate in. The staff could not be more helpful, it’s as if nothing is too much, it’s a truly wonderful place. If I get the chance I would happily stay at Riak Kniza again

"Excellent pool but service & location not so good"
Overall we had a pleasant stay at Kenzi Farah. The pool area really makes it - beautiful gardens, large, deep pool with enough space to lounge around it. You don't feel crammed in and you're able to relax. If you're just after a comfortable, hotel-based holiday in the sun then definitely consider this place! However - if you want to get out and about to see Marrakech, think carefully. This hotel is in a very modern, dull part of town - nothing of note around - just other big hotels. It's about a 35min walk to the main square - and further still to the Souks and other sites. The pavements around the hotel haven't all been finished yet so you find yourself walking on grainy sand, dust and gravel - difficult in sandals/flip flops. You can get taxis from right outside the hotel into town (about 10min ride) - however this involves a lot of haggling with the drivers re price. Also once inside the cab they try to take you to other places to buy Argan Oil or whatever and you have to be very firm and just say no. So getting taxis all the time can make the holiday a bit stressful unless you enjoy that sort of banter. The other thing we found disappointing was the service - really hit and miss. On one occasion we were ignored by reception for approx 15 mins as they were doing paperwork, and another gent wanting to change money was waived away v dismissively and told to come back later. All things considered - we did enjoy our stay purely because the pool area is just brilliant!

"Clean and convenient"
This riad is in a great location within the Medina. The room was incredibly clean and the A/C worked very well. The room was on the ground floor but was very quiet and comfortable. Airport transfer very smooth. I'd definitely stay at this riad again in the future.

"An oasis of calm!"
The most wonderful hotel in every way - we couldn't fault it. The staff were welcoming and friendly and more than happy to answer any questions we had. The housekeeping was faultless, the restaurant staff friendly and attentive and the impression we had was that nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended!!

"Beautiful hotel, great staff, highly recommended!"
This Riad is beautiful, very well located, and the staff are really kind. As soon as we arrived, we were presented with delicious mint tea and homemade biscuits while they helped us plan our only night in Marrakech. They gave us a map, marked all useful locations with very good explanations. When we were ready to go out, Laurent, the owner, actually came out with us to show us exactly how to come back, something that took some of his valuable time (the Riad is in a little hidden street, so it might be easy to get lost when coming back!). The room was cozy, and was tastefully decorated. The next morning, we were presented with a sumptuous breakfast in a table that had been prepared specially for us. All food was delicious and freshly prepared. Finally, Laurent called a taxi for us to take us to the airport and made sure we were not overcharged. Overall, excellent - very highly recommended! Thank you very much Laurent and staff for a wonderful, if short, time in Marrakech!

"Excellent Hotel"
Outstanding hotel for an extended stay in Marrakech. Beautiful facilities and excellent staff. Centrally located between airport and downtown. 10-15 min drive to the airport. Two restaurants on the hotel grounds. We had most of our meals in the Moroccan restaurant. Jul trip was very hot, but morning hours were cool enough to sit outside for breakfast. Overall, a recommended hotel for a wonderful stay in Marrakech.
