“Great for a rest from the chaos of the Medina”
This is a huge but nice resort-type hotel. It’s a 30 minute walk to the city (the Medina). Reviewers complain that it is too far from the action of the city but I chose it because it was outside of the noise and chaos of the city – but walkable if you are in decent shape. The walk is flat and a straight shot right into the city and pretty safe. If you walk slower, it is about a 38 minutes .It was generally quiet near the hotel . There is a shuttle bus that ran every 1.5 hours to the city center and Gueliz. It is reliable and it has 24 seats – but it services 2 Mogador hotels & so it did fill up a couple of times and some people were left behind to wait for the next shuttle. It has 2 large, flower-shaped outdoor pools and a kiddie pool. It has a poolside bar and restaurant However, as an Islamic establishment there is no alcohol served anywhere on the premises. The breakfast buffet was fabulous (June 2010). It had Moroccan breakfast (fried flat bread with honey, cheese and olives) as well as a buffet of meats, juices, eggs, fresh fruit and cereal. The service was also very good and courteous. I had room service a few times to and never had to wait long and the portions were generous. The rooms & bathrooms are clean. The bedding is clean but not fancy. The mattress, quite firm. The AC and satellite TV in my room worked well (channels in French, Spanish, Arabic & English). The “business center” was weak -3 computers (French keyboards) but no printers or English keyboards.
“Happy to stay out of the old town - as it was a comfortable hotel.”
Would be highly recommended to stay here as the staff are friendly and offer a shuttle to Jamara Fna and Platza 16 November. Hotel offers excursions to do a variety of activities and is worth while booking through them as they manage it all for you.
“Bon hôtel”
Hotel de qualité, un peu à l'écart du centre (env 5 KM) Très propre. Eviter la demi pension, le taxi coute 40 DHM.
“Too far away”
This is a lovely hotel, but it's huge, the service is patchy and it's really much too far away from downtown Marrakesh
“Ryad Mogador Agdal”
The reviews of this hotel have previously been positive, but I was unfortunately quite disappointed with the hotel and service. I booked a 5star hotel for comfort and luxury and stayed for 6 days over a quiet week in March. The main areas; the lobby and pools were beautiful, but the rooms were disappointing. It was basic, and poorly kept. There were cracks and chips in the bath tub, and an empty mini bar. The restaurant was basic and the choice of food limited, even for Morrocco. The breakfast buffet was also disappointing with a restricted choice. The phone in the hotel room was broken and I was unable to receive calls that I was expecting. I had to ask the staff twice before someone acknowledged the complaint and someone came to fix it. There is a gym and spa available, but again I was surprised that there was a charge of £10 a day to use the gym facilities. The hotel boasts free wifi, another reason I chose this hotel, but it was unavailbale for 3 of the 6 days I was there. There were only 2 computers available in the hotel business centre. The hotel was however in a quiet area close to shopping mall and there was a free hotel shuttlebus taking guests to the city. The Expedia / Sahara Tours rep was very helpful, and we booked 2 amazing trips.
“Not Impressed”
The hotyel is not 5 stars for sure. The furniture is very old and the equipment is not working propely. The worst part is that my camera diseapeare from the room , includ it the charger. At the reception they didnt do enything to try and see how went in the room .I dont recomand this hotel at all.
