“Simple and effective”
When I booked the room, the name made me think the hotel would provide more. I thought there would be wakeup call service, pay-per-view, maybe a microwave and a mini-fridge. This hotel had none of these. Since I was only in there for one night, it didnt really matter. The room was clean, there was cable, that was enough for me. They do provide free wi-fi, I thought that was cool. If you need to stay for a day or two, this hotel is fine. If it is a longer trip, you may find the amenities a bit lacking.
“Satisfied”
All I was looking for was a nice quiet place to sleep and this fit. The rooms looked very throwback, but that stuff does not really bother me. It was clean and maintained. The staff was very polite and helpful.
“Could use alot of work”
Considering the price of the hotel I was expecting a place maybe slightly nicer than a motel 6 or something along that range, but just by the looks of the outside of the hotel I would have probably felt a little better staying at a commercial hotel. It was alright I guess, considering that it was the only hotel avaliable in town that day. Alot could be updated.
“Would NOT go back”
There was 4 of us in the room (2 queen beds) and they only gave us 2 wash cloths everyday, even when we complained. The sheets weren't changed during the length of our stay and the pool was VERY small.
“Never, never again”
In decades of travel, this was by far the worse accommodations I have ever seen. Dirty, dingy, incompetent staff and a manager that never seem to be present to oversee service...much less take care of client complaints. Never, never again...stay at your own risk!!!!
“needs improvement”
very outdated. no hairdryer. minimal amenities.
“I should have read the reviews....”
When I booked the room, I thought that I was booking the local "Best Western". I was wrong. This place is just very unfortunate. The proprietor seems like a decent guy; he and his wife apparently own and operate the place. I suspect that he and his wife constitute the housekeeping staff. Anyhow, the place is old, but neat. The problem is that the place is too old--maybe 40 or 50 years-- and it looks it. The carpets are way old, and even though I'm sure it had been vaccuumed, I was appalled when I realized that my three-year-old was walking barefoot on the floor. After we checked in, and I assessed the situation, I got on the phone, and found other "name-brand" accomodations in a nearby town. I had pre-paid for 3 nights. I didn't ask for a refund. I just gave the guy his keys and said "thank you". The place cannot be cleaned or renovated into something nice. It just needs to be torn down, to make room for a La Quinta, or somehing like that.
“I'd have rather slept in my pick-up truck”
Absolutely the most horrible place I have ever stayed--and I spent a year in Viet Nam--think about it! Dust everywhere, burn marks from cigarettes on the bathtub--this in a non smoking room.I should have known when the lady desk clerk handed me the keys and said--"you have to kick the bottom of the door to get it open"--but--it was 10:30 at night,no other rooms available.Towels were like # 40 grit sandpaper.
