We had to wait for front desk person to show up both when we arrived and left. It is listed as non smoking but the room stunk from cigarettes

Close to my classes for weekend. Nice to have pub attached. Has other food,fuel, shopping needs close by. Not the best choice for a family stay. Met my needs for a short 2 night stay. Pricing was budget friendly.

Bed was soft did have hot water for shower,,, no TV, toilet was broke, coffee pot missing parts, room had an odor,-- very dissatisfied

There was no one at the counter, waited for a long while before calling. A woman finally came to the front that looked as though she was on drugs. Online the room was 59 but they charged me 75.00. That alone should have told me to leave. The room smelled awful. Musty, damp, like an old basement. The room was dirty. There was what looked like blood on the walls by the toilet. The bed itself was uncomfortable. The fridge didn't work. Never again.

The property had nice room design and layout. Was not cleaned well, there were nicotine puches on the lamp and bathroom floor. The people were nice though.

Unique oldest hotel in ashland when i was a little girl it was the place to stay. What we didn't like was the fridge was broke in our room and owner has not got a new one or fixed it and ice machine broke also. We will never stay there again.

Travelers beware
Everything the reviews said was right...I just didn't read them before making the reservations - lesson learned! As soon as we arrived and washed our hands, the sink wouldn't drain, so the receptionist (dressed in pajama bottoms, sweatshirt and slippers) had to walk to the Dollar store for a drain snake. The room was smelly so we had to ask for air freshener. The A/C didn't work very well which didn't help the air quality. There were people smoking 'lefties' at the back door as we were going out for the evening. Upon returning, we noticed an unmarked switch on the wall that didn't seem to operate anything, so we put it in the 'off' position, only to find out it was for the TV service after we had to go to the reception clerk AGAIN to find out why tv wasn't working. So stupid. Then tried to make coffee the next morning but the pot was missing the tray to put the packet in. Never again.

The property is close to Ashland which is exactly what we wanted. Restaurant attached was good. It's a little dated, but we were just sleeping and showering there so it was fine. I would totally stay there again. Close to downtown, close to campus.

Pleasant Surrey!
I had asked for an electrical outlet to plug in my Hybrid plug-in vehicle. This was provided. Hotel is a pleasant property but is in need of some management tlc. Door keys are old-style keys, toilets are old-style 3.5 gal per flush ( instead of modern 1.5 gal/ flush), flies in most areas. Night staff were pleasant and helpful but seemed tired. Day staff pleasant.

Frig in the room had a lock on it and they have no keys to unlock the frig, if you don't have the keys then remove the frig's from the rooms. Ice machine was empty and dirty. There's a sign saying breakfast from 7-9a but there was no breakfast. There's a frig in the lounge with random food items in it and it hasn't been cleaned in months from the looks of it. This is just a place to lay your head for 1 night if you drink enough not to notice your surroundings.

It sucked a dog beside our room barked all night the check out next morning their was no one at the front desk people at the motel said they got in a car & left. Will never stay there again & will never recommend any one stay there.

Check in was quick and easy. I was informed of continental breakfast from 6-9. Upon room inspection I discovered the in room fridge was not working so called front desk. They sent a young lady to come check it out and upon her inspection she stated it was not working. I requested a working fridge and she said ok and left. One hour later when I left for dinner I again requested a working fridge. Sadly I never received a working fridge so turned bathroom sink into a cooler. Breakfast was NOT continental. Choice of milk or coffee. Two different cereals and two different muffins. This was just sad. Checkout was just dropping keys in a basket because there was no attendant. Very disappointed overall

Anytime I stay here there is never a microwave or refrigerator in my room. When I ask staff they are always unsure where to get one for me and never check the other rooms. I feel like for $70 a night there should always be a microwave and fridge in every room that's working. Didn't have a tv remote had to ask front desk for one.
