Tiny parking lot. Very shady looking people hanging out in and around the hotel. Room was gross. Stain on the pillow case. Balcony door would not open from the outside if unlocked and closed. Something that looked like blood on the phone. Felt very uncomfortable and afraid my car would be broken into. 50 dollar deposit for some reason. We didn't stay. Couldn't cancel, so we ate the charge and went anywhere else. Would not recommend to anyone. Even my worst enemy.

Worse hotel I have ever stayed at.
Room didn’t look same as picture on line. It is smoking and non smoking but all you could smell was smoke. Not enough outlets. The balcony door didn’t shut properly. Wasn’t able to control heat, had to run AC or leave outside door open to be comfortable. There was three ways to get into hotel but only one way was safe.

The room was sufficient for an overnight stay, and the location was convenient to downtown. Since they allow smoking, the hotel and non-smoking rooms still smell of cigarette smoke.

Great one nighter.
Room was dated but clean. Everything worked. Air conditioner blows on the bed. It was pretty quiet, even though the location is in the middle of town. Good food at the reindeer inn restaurant just a few blocks away.Great for a one night stay.

M Star? More like M Sucks
The whole place stunk of cigarettes even though it said non smoking rooms. All my clothes smelled like it after I checked out. There was also what looked like a used sex ring toy on the floor next to the bed. Disgusting! The toilet had crap splattered in the bowl and the shower was gross. It had hair and other stuff on the walls and on the shower floor. The curtains were thin and the lights outside my window were so damn bright that I could barely sleep. Aside from having a balcony there was nothing pleasant about my stay. I will not be staying there again.

Per state of Ohio, hotel can have a smoking and non-smoking rooms, therefore you have smelled the smoke. If cleanliness was issue, we were just a phone call away from you. But we still apologize. Staff was so, so nice. Directly across the street from The Renaissance Theater, which was absolutely beautiful and a lovely venue to see a show. Convenient to places to eat. I recommend the Reindeer Grill. The room could use some updating, but was overall clean and spacious and super affordable. I would stay again!

I couldn't even bring myself to go to the room smelly dirty hallway shady people outside I walked in to cancel because I did not fee safe the owner behind the dirty glass barrier refused to return my money because it was paid online Disgusting.

Vintage charm, spotless and well-maintained
The M Star Hotel in Mansfield is a great option as an alternative to "name brand" hotels. It is very clean, updated while maintaining its vintage charm. Since it was warm in Mansfield during our stay, we made good use of the AC, which is a little loud.

I think the staff is really nice and friendly. The hotel is kind of retro from the 70s era. Beds could have been more comfortable. Otherwise everything was nice and you have free parking close to the downtown.

This place didn’t use appropriate pictures for the place and there is definitely a prostitution situation there and made everything so uncomfortable. Regardless this motel was awful, staff was lovely but they had a lot of problems. Especially for the price.

Low cost hotel, don't expect the Marriott.
Overall, this hotel was OK. The curtains are paper thin and the street lights kept me awake (between the fireworks blasting). The shower in my room was TINY and was very out dated. This hotel is definitely old fashioned as it still uses a physical key, not a card. I had to ask for a Do Not Disturb sign. The parking is sub-par. Very small lot, not good if you have a big truck (like myself in a Ram 1500). Also, many of the pictures used on this site and their website do not represent the actual rooms. Convenient store attached was nice, small and not well stocked, but nice. Overall, it wasn't as expected, but would stay again now that I've been there. Just wish the rugs weren't dark so you could tell if there is bugs in the room (I didn't notice any bugs, just would make people feel more comfortable in the room if they could tell if bugs were on the floor or not, or if there's stains, etc.). Also, please...for the love of god...get better curtains. They aren't expensive, just do it.

What was supposed to be a non-smoking room stunk l in me smoke so badly and there was ashes on the bathroom counter. There was no outlets in the bathroom. We could hear everything from every other room. Worst stay ever. That about sums it up.

The place was clean and everyone was friendly. The neighborhood was scetchy at best and dangerous at worst. There was no bathtub, just a shower and the water smelled of sulfur. The upstairs hallway smelled like a tobacco factory and the patio/balcony door wouldn't lock.

Although the motel is dated and the rooms a little rough around the edges they were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will say that I was impressed at how quickly the staff reacted to a guest who made a little to much noise in an effort to keep things peaceful. Would definitely stay there again!
