“Not Fancy But Very Good Value”
Check in at the Salem, NH Red Roof Inn was quick and easy. I was pleased that they asked for photo ID to verify against my credit card. There was ample parking within sight of my 2nd floor room. Access to the 2nd floor was good; steps at each end and the middle. No elevators, but ground floor rooms are readily available for those who may have problems negotiating stairs. The rooms are simply furnished but very functional. It had a nice L shaped desk with a good work light, the sink and large mirror were along the back wall of the room, with the bathtub/shower and toilet in a seperate room. There were very practical amenities; refigerator, microwave, safe, and coffee maker. Curtains blocked light very effectively for good sleeping. The room was very clean and neat, and the bathroom/toilet area was one of the cleanest I have seen in lodgings of any price range in more than 45 years of travel world-wide. On the down side, the exhaust fan in the bathroom/toilet area was very loud, possibly enough to disturb the occupants in the next room. The bed and linens were also clean, and had plenty of pillows, but the mattress was like sleeping on a lighly padded sheet of plywood; not firm, just hard. The motel had easy access to the interstate highway but not so close that traffic noise was detectable. Lots of eating choices, from cheap to high end and shopping nearby and lots of local attractions reachable by major local roads. Very good value; I would stay there again.
“Quiet and clean.”
Booked 4 rooms. Very nice stay. I recommend.
“very nice hotel in a beautiful area”
The Red Roof Inn in Salem is staffed with extremely helpful people. The area is beautiful and even though it is located close to a highway, it is secluded enough that you don't hear the noise or even see the road. The rooms themselves are comfortable. It isn't a luxury hotel but it doesn't claim to be one. It is perfect for a family getaway!
“Good Deal”
We were really scared this place was going to be a dump because of the price, but we were pleasantly surprised. Great for a few inexpensive nights, your basic hotel room. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and there was coffee made in the morning. I wouldn't stay here if I was planning to spend my days luxuriating in my hotel room, but if you plan on being out and about in the area most of the time, it's fine. Hard to beat it for the price!
“More than ample in Salem, NH”
Friendly staff, clean non-smoking room, convenient to restaurants and shopping.
“Served its Purpose”
If your looking for your basic needs met in a hotel ,this is the place for you.The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and it was close to various locations.
“For the price this was a decent hotel”
No complaints. I was worried when I booked the hotel because it was so cheap that it was going to be gross or run down. But the hotel was great, it was not fancy but perfect for a comfortable stay for the night. So close to Canobie Lake park which makes it even better, after spending all day at the park and leaving late at night. The room was cute, deocrated nicely and the beds were comfortable!
“an avarage hotel.”
There was no nnoise at night that was very nice.
“Good place to stay”
Not many ammenities, but clean and comfy.
“had a lot of bang for my buck”
Other than the initial contact after a long day of driving with a staff member that was texting when I was checking inn, office staff was friendly and helpful. Clean and well run.
