Location Is excellent, I feel safe in the area I actually walk around late at night totally safe, I know the country and hotels have been through difficult times so I will get them the benefit, owners are super nice and hard workers but the hotel need to be taken care off , breakfast it was not that good, but again I feel they are really trying to get back on their feet so if you feel you wanna support that is the way you should be thinking about it, they don’t have a lot to offer but they are really trying they actually turn the AC off every time I walk out because they say the power is extremely expensive in Nicaragua so I was patient And turn back on when I got to the hotel late at night instead of been wasting energy.so support and feel happy

Nice people and excellent service. If this hotel is near where you want to be it’s a great place. If not the traffic in Managua makes it difficult to cross town easily. I would stay at the Aloha again

Very good budget option in Central Managua
I stayed at Aloha Hotel for a total of 7 days in Oct./Nov, 2017. My first consideration when looking for a hotel in this area was to be close to Metrocentro and the UCA bus station. Well, I didn't use the bus station even once, but Metrocentro became my daily evening hangout while I was in Managua, due to a vibrant presence of people at all times, and a diversity of shopping and restaurants. My week at Aloha ended up being much more than just a room to sleep. As it is a small hotel, I received personalized attention, being asked every morning how I wanted my omelette prepared, if I had slept well, if there was something that the hotel could do to make my stay more pleasant, etc. The greatest asset of this hotel is the staff. Without exception, all the ladies who work there were VERY polite, hard working, and performed their duties with pride. Even though the hotel is close to main streets, it's very quiet, being in a dead-end residential street. Every morning, I just had to walk one block to the Consulate of Costa Rica, and take one of the many inexpensive taxis waiting for passengers, to go where I wanted to. I recommend Aloha Hotel as a good budget option in Central Managua.

Do not go!
Hotel located across from a 20 story building under construction, lots of dust and construction traffic. They advertise "free parking" and they do not have any parking area. You will park on the street, right by a 20 story building under construction. By the entrance the hotel has a pond with dead fish, belly up. My room had ants walking on the wall, cracked walls, stained, and bathroom with cockroaches.

I stayed at the hotel aloha a few years ago, and loved it...so decided to book there again on a recent trip to managua. Unfortunately, the property had really changed for the worse. My room was dirty and needed a lot of maintenance -- all the upholstered furniture, wall paint and bedding was dingy/stained. I found an earwig bug in the bed. The toilet leaked a lot everytime it was flushed, the TV didn't work, and the Internet connection dropped every few minutes. When I asked the hotel staff for help, they were watching movies in the lobby, and seemed annoyed to have to get up to help me. This is an affordable hotel, in a great area -- but there are other hotels for the same price that are much cleaner and have better service. I won't be staying at hotel aloha again.

Very good hotel. Very poor pillows.
For the money, this is a really good hotel in Managua. I am always looking for good places to stay while here. This trip I visited 3 different hotels. This will be my "back-up" hotel if my first choice is not available. The first morning we didn't have hot water, but after we notified the front desk, it was fine. The staff was friendly and courteous. The two things that I did not like about the hotel were 1) the pillows were flat and weak and 2) the breakfast was not that great.

There is currently construction across the street from the hotel. Taxis don't come near there, in order to get transportation you have to walk three blocks, in the street where cars almost run over you. At 4 in the morning the staff begin unlocking the gate they make so much noise, they are yelling at each other as your are trying to sleep., They have a sign that breakfast is served from 5-10 AM, it was 6 AM and it was not ready yet. The shower tiles need replacing. It was infested with mosquitos and I had tom buy Raid, sprayed the mosquitos and the bed.

HOPE TO HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE NEXT TIME
THIS WAS OUR SECOND TIME, WE WHERE HERE LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO. THIS TIME IT WAS MORE NOTICIBLE THE LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE, THEY HAD TROUBLE TO OPEN ROOM DOOR UNTIL I HELPED, BATHROOM HAD A STRONG SMELL FROM THE DRAINS, SEWER LIKE, STEINS IN THE SHOWER AND AROUND FIXTURES, SHOWER DOORS COMING OFF THE RAILS WHEN MOVED, TOWELS IN BAD SHAPE, TORN AND WITH STAINS, THE SAME WITH BED COVERS, PILLOWS..BED NOT ATTACHED TO HEADBOARD WILL CONSTINUOSLY SLIDE OFF THE WALL.. THE SAFE WAS "HANGING" ON THE WALL, NOT ATTACHED, COMBINATION DIDN'T WORK.. WE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME OUT VISITING WITH A SICK RELATIVE, IN GENERAL, ROOM SERVICE WAS POOR, EXCEPT FOR THE GUARDS/BELL BOYS, EXCELENT SERVICE, VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE.(THEY WERE PROPERLY TIPPED)

Building site
The hotel was just across the street and around the corner from massive building projects, which started making noise at around 7am. There were few pavements to walk safely to the local mall. The hotel is in need of a major overhaul. Most things in our room were broken or slightly dysfunctional. Shower head needs replacement. Floor of shower very grubby. Nowhere to keep toiletries in the bathroom as it was so small. TV channel changer didn't work, air conditioner very noisy. No window for natural light. Only window opened on to a courtyard. No tea/coffee making service in the room, no hair dryer. Curtains didn't cover the courtyard window so people passing in the corridor could see straight into our room.
Response from Hotel Aloha on Nov 7, 2015
Mrs. Liz, we are working really hard on the maintainance of the hotel, we had a bad experience too with the big construction infront since 8 months ago , the dust was terrible, but hoping in 2 months will be ready and the peaceful will be one more time in our neighborhood.. This was the third time my husband and I stay at this hotel. Its nice, cheap and conveniently located next to the bus station at the market and the Metrocentro Mall. The hotel staff is nice and informative upon arrival. The rooms are always clean and comfy. This last trip we were however given a room right by the reception desk and was pretty noisy since its so close to the entrance of the hotel and there was construction going on. I did ask the reception if they could relocate my husband and I to any of the rooms in the back since we've stayed there before without a problem and they without a problem moved us a to a quitter room.
Response from Hotel Aloha Team on Sep 3, 2015
Mrs. Margie, yes, we are experimenting 8 months ago the noise and the dust from the big construction, but finally will be ready in 2 months. hoping next time will be different. Best Regards,

Nice hotel but hard to find.
Other than the half hour we spent trying to find it, everything about this hotel was great. We especially enjoyed the breakfast. They need to update their directions, since they say it is 3 blocks north of McDonalds when in reality it is three blocks south. Other than that, it was fine.

Good place for a one night stay
The hotel is close to metrocentro and zona hippos is three blocks. It is about a 30 minute drive to the airport. Look for a shuttle that will take you to the hotel. It is a little cheaper than a taxi. Not really much to do in Managua. The hotel staff is very friendly and many of the staff are bilingual. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are clean and the shower has warm water. Most people are using this hotel for a night until they travel to other places in the country.

Clean-comfy-cheap and safe.
I stayed at this hotel just to see how good it would be to step down from a chain hotel, since most chain hotels are within a 1/4 of a mile, the surroundings of it are kind of similar. I was very surprised of how great the customer service in all levels was. From bringing me a hair dryer to even cooking whatever I wanted for breakfast by what it felt like "my own personal cheff". The only "bad" thing about the hotel is not even the hotel itself, is just that it would be more conveniant to take a taxi to the near by restaurants than to walk the few blocks by yourself, still, a taxi trip like that would not cost you more than 2 dollars and, the hotel has some menus from different restaurants in the area that provide VERY fast delivery and, as with most latin american Countries, the food is fresh. Anyways, after staying at Hilton Hotels for over 12 years every week, I would definetly stay here again when I get back to Managua.

It was fine, but the final price was too high
Hotel Aloha was nice enough. Exactly what I expected for $55 USD...except that it ended up being $85 USD after taxes and fees, which is INSANE. I don't know whether to blame hotels.com or the actual hotel for that though. Would I stay there again? Sure, if it were $55 USD. The room was clean. The water was warm. The staff was super friendly. The neighborhood could've been better, but it's what I expected.

Aloha indeed!
The airlines couldn't keep their schedules or keep track of our luggage, but when we staggered into the Hotel Aloja 14 hours late, and six hours before check-in time, all they said was "We have a room for you." This was followed by a delicious breakfast. If you need a comfortable, secure room in Managua at a price that seems far too low for the value received, Hotel Aloha is your best choice.

center of Managua
Although the hotel is a little difficult to find for a first time visitor to Managua, it is in a central location of the city and easy to get to and from as a base. The best thing about Aloha is the people. The owner speaks perfect English and gives excellent directions for travel all over Nicaragua. The staff run to meet guests every need-open car doors, carry bags, prepare complimentary breakfast, fetch hairdryer, etc. With late arrival, we did not get the room paid for the first night- it was corrected for other nights. A big downer for the trip was our camera with all our pictures was stolen at a nearby restaurant the last night of our vacation. The Aloha owner recommended the restaurant. Do not go to this restaurant as they will not serve what you order(one order was fondue with sausage and they refused to give us the sausage) and may steal your belongings.

The 3 C's - clean, comfortable, convenient
We stayed at hotel aloha for 5 nights before heading off to Pearl Lagoon. The accommodation was clean and comfortable at a reasonable price. Very conveniently located within walking distance to Metrocentral. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast - while not overly extensive there was enough variety included for a substantial breakfast. Service was friendly and timely.

This is actually a bed and breakfast as there are only ten rooms. It may be a little off the beaten path but I believe that may be a good thing. It is near some very good restaurants and a shopping center but maybe about 20 min. from the airport. The staff is extremely helpful and the included breakfast is good. I will definetly stay there on my next trip. The rooms are very clean and in my opinion, better than some of the bigger hotels.

Home away from home
From before we got there, the staff was helpful and hospitable. They made sure that all our transportation needs were met, along with finding us a driver to sight see. We speak rudimentary Spanish, so Andrew 's English was a godsend. We managed to get our needs met even with the night staff who spoke no English. A sense of humor helps. Our room was not fancy at all, but always spotless and the a/c was sub-arctic & fantastic. The hotel was in a good location from where we needed to be. That said, it would not be a good idea to try to walk anywhere from there. With only 9 rooms, this is a small hotel who still tries to offer all the services of a larger one. Breakfast was wonderful. They were also great with our 10 year old daughter. We will stay here again.
