“can't wait to go there in winter for some skiing!!”
the hotel was nice, although it need some maintenance.the staff were very nice. The breakfast however,we thought was a hot meal and not a continental type.for the price it could be a hot meal instead.I would recommend it to my friends and we will try and back there again.thanks expedia.ferminge
“if on a budget”
i have stayed in many various rentals, condo's, homes, and hotels in Mammoth over the years, and all have a flaw of some sort or another... small rooms, uncomfortable furniture, or it was a hassel to get to the lifts or into town. The Sierra Lodge fills a niche long missing at Mammoth: a clean, fun, comfortable, easy acess, even sort of retro hip hotel at value pricing! things you will enjoy: The staff... front desk, to the guy who helped me dig out my truck buried in 4 feet of snow! they have a deal with the restaurant rafters next door, and offer a nice breakfast. we enjoyed the bar in the lobby and the sauna and the spa. all in all it is a great deal!
“decent and nice”
cute atmosphere, nice history, rooms can be noisy depending on your neighbors. good location. walk to many places. did not have the continental breakfast, slept in late.
“Older hotel needs renovation, better breakfast”
The room and especially bathroom could use some maintainance/rework, and the breakfast was minimal (cereal, doughnuts, low quality apples, and - only one of the days - toast).
“Great value in Mammoth.”
If you book early, this Hotel was only a "couple of bucks" more than the cheapest motel in Mammoth, and a 100 times better. Excellent continental breakfast in the restuarant (included with stay), w/ coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby throughout the day. Kids loved it.
“Need more help to give good Customer Service”
First, the staff there are very nice, however, there are not enough of them to provide a consistent quality of customer service. When I checked in there were 6 other folks waiting to check in and only one gal behind the counter. When I arrived at my room, the card keys didn't work and since it was quite a walk and carrying luggage upstairs (no elevators), I called the front desk to ask them to send someone to let me into room...they never sent anyone so... Later that day I called for an iron (since they do not have them in the rooms) and was told that they could bring one at 8:00am or I could come and get it myself. Hmmm... The only other item they could improve on....this hotel is not terrible user-friendly if in a wheelchair or scooter. One can get to the room, but cannot get to the lobby area due to a series of up and down stairs in the hallway connector areas. The side entrance has a 3" lip/curb that one has to navigate to get in the building and the front entrance has stairs so....if you can get up the 3" lip/cub at the side to access the lobby, you'd then have to go back out the side and roll through the parking lot to try and get to the back complex to have level entry/exit. The good things....location is ideal.....the room was clean....the water was hot...(though be warned that some rooms only have standing showers and not tubs so if you want a tub you better as just to be sure)...and people that worked there were very nice.
“Mammoth Lakes”
I believe they remodeled because the property is in much better shape than a few years ago when I first stayed here. I did not have a lot of interaction with the staff but the people I spoke to were very nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable; walls seemed a little thin, but it was a light weekend so pretty quiet. Great rates and a good value
“Good service”
We were picked up at the airport at no extra charge which was great. Once at the Lobby the staff was friendly and the main area of the lodge was well kept. This Hotel is a very long two level structure with no elevator so walking is a must. Also found out that its true what other reviews said, the walls are thin and you can hear other rooms adjacent to you. We found no problems with the hot water but remember that we were there when the season was slowing way down. We also found out that this is a something they are working to solve during the summers. We were there during the tail end of the season so it was not as crowded, and I would not stay here during those months due to the possibility of the noise, but would stay here during other times of year. We liked the fact that they had a laundry room on each floor. We also liked that we got free breakfast with our stay even though we didn't expect it. The breakfast was next door at Rafter Restaurant and bar, and it was brunch type thing that was perfectly adequate, but they had half price breakfast during April, so you could have a breakfast for 2 under 14 dollars. . Plenty of good restaurants to choose from with in a very short distance to the hotel, it felt like a motel but was still a very pleasant stay and have no real complaints. Also Vons, rite aid, ski shops, and coffee shops are all very close as well as shuttle stops.
“Sierra Nevada Lodge-Mammoth Lakes,CA.”
The room was as expected and not much more. The as advertised wi-fi never worked and the towels supplied were small and thin and cheap! The location is great and the price was allright, but I will not stay there again myself under any circumstances.
“Small rooms that don't look like the photos on Expedia”
Good location, cheap price, terrible breakfasts, small rooms, cheap overall, terrible for someone in a wheelchair.
