"Last minute choice on way back to States 2 nights."
The staff was fantastic. Concierge was instrumental in arranging late transfer from Nadi. Also accommodated our late departure. Everything went smoothly. Great musicians, happy staff. Food was good. Spa is idyllic and had a great massage.

"Nice Island Holiday"
You get off the boat and are immediately greeted by singing staff who make you feel so welcome! Our accommodation was in a bure on North Beach, which had a lovely deck area for laying back, reading a book and enjoying the ocean vistas. We travelled with our two teenage boys who enjoyed snorkelling and exploring the underwater life. We were not advised that they are renovating when we booked. If we had of known about the renovations we probably would have booked elsewhere, as not all advertised amenities were available and there was only one restaurant and dining choice available with significant wait times for a seat. We strongly believe that during the renovation period there should be a reduction in room rate, which was not offered. However, we still had an enjoyable time.

"Surprised by the "Extra" charges"
Weren't aware that we would have to pay (quite a bit) for non water sports. We found out on checkout that the breakfasts were included. The itinerary did not actually state this instead: From Expedia itinerary: The below fees and deposits only apply if they are not included in your selected room rate. The following fees and deposits are charged by the property at time of service, check-in, or check-out. Breakfast fee: FJD 54 for adults and FJD 27 for children (approximately) Otherwise the whole set up was quite pleasant and well run. Food over priced, especially the Friday BBQ.

"Take me back to the island..."
LOVED this place! It's advertised as backpacker-ish but our group was between 19-35 years old and we all loved it here. The people are fantastic - big shout outs to Roy and Peeyo at the bar who kept us entertained and well watered for our 4 days there! I don't know why people bag the food...okay so it's not five star, but for $80FJD a day you get a bargain buffet. So many different meats, fish, salad, rolls, dessert every night, an omelette station at breakfast...yum. The best nightclub ever where you can party away til 2am barefoot and participate in different activities every night.. We stayed in 2 bures which were right next to each other and had one king and two single beds each. So comfy and far enough away from the action to not hear any night time noise (except the ocean!). We were in the oceanview as opposed to beachfront and cannot recommend this enough. Being on the western side, the oceanview got great afternoon sun and spectacular sunsets. Plus a hammock outside each bure! Bliss. We were so sad to go but we will definitely be back!

"The Funky Family"
If you need exotic products, infinity edge pool and lots of excitement then Funky is perhaps not your best choice. But if you want peace, respect calm and options then it is hard to beat Funky. The staff are gorgeous and provide service in a subtle and respectful manner. Nothing was too hard and there were services provided for us just because they liked us- coconuts, a cooking class, a walk. It is a budget hotel but excels at service. Hence so many fab reviews. We had a perfect time with these gentle and caring people. The location is lovely and close to surf and snorkeling. We enjoyed lots of the latter, especially feeding the fish bread from the water.

"Perfect place to unwind and completely relax."
Staying at Bounty Island was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays I've ever had. It was a lot different to staying on the mainland at the Outrigger which was also very nice (and also more expensive) but the vibe of Bounty Island is what sets it apart. The staff become like family as do fellow guests. Everyone eats together, everyone knows everyone by name and it's like one big family. If you're after flashing 5 star rooms and over the top sugar packed dessert look elsewhere. The accommodation I felt was fine and more than I needed (solo traveller in an Ocean Front room), the beds are really comfortable. The geckos in the room gave me a fright at first but they're quite harmless and actually take care of the bugs by eating them (hey, you're on an island, right in the middle of nature, so this is to be expected). The food was very tasty and nutritiously filling. There might not be as much variety of food as in a fancy 5 star place but the food tastes good, is healthy and full fills the nutritional requirements for the body. If you're used to eating junk food (burgers and fries) you may be disappointed but maybe try eating clean (Bounty Island food) for awhile and your body will thank you. The staff go above and beyond. Ephie made a bonfire on the beach after dinner and played guitar to a small group of us for at least 3 hours, while drinking kava with fellow staff and guest, while watching a moonrise. You won't find this type of experience anywhere else! :)

"Amazing, secluded lagoon with great service. "
From the arrival to the departure our visit was unbelievably amazing. The lagoon is beautiful. The accomadations are amazing. If there weren't so many things to do in the beautiful lagoon it would be hard to leave the rooms at all. The customer service is like no other. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were very generous.

"Very relaxing stay"
The Tropica staff are friendly and the entire stay was very seamless and relaxing. They took care of all the luggage transfers and seemed to keep tabs on all the guests and their particular needs. The activities centre happily supplied us with kayaks, snorkel gear, paddleboards and sail boats whenever we wanted and the surrounding water was calm and beautiful for snorkelling. Food was generally very good, although the service can be a bit slow and forgetful. I thought the cocktails were too sweet and not very well-crafted, but the happy hour prices are decent. No TVs or wifi in the lower-numbered bures allowed us to truly unplug. The day trips to go snorkelling or visit the village are quite expensive and this was the biggest downside of the resort for me. Beautiful location to fully relax. Vinaka Tropica!

    Mamanuca Islands Hotels Guide

A group of small islands offshore from Nadi, the Mamanucas are ringed by sandy beaches, turquoise to pastel green waters, and coral reefs. Access is a quick hop from Nadi via boat or plane transfer, and accommodation options range from budget to luxury, and bures (traditional thatch-roof huts) through to exclusive beachfront villas. Scuba diving and snorkelling in this region comes highly recommended.
