“Comfortable hotel right on the Promenade along the beach”
The hotel was very nice and the room was fine. It was kept very neat and clean and anything I asked for was quickly given. The staff was really helpful and the breakfast buffet was very good with two kinds of yogurt, two kinds of eggs, tasty sliced ham and cheese and very nice bread and rolls. I didn't care for their dinner buffet since there were so many nearby places that served good food for a good price. The roof pool didn't look appealing but the swimming in the Mediterranean was great. The staff and guests (mostly European) were friendly and overall the place was great!!
“Howard Johnson Diplomat - Sliema”
We stayed in November 2007 at the hotel. Excellent week. Staff were very helpful and the food was extremely good. We stayed on a B & B basis but used the restaurant for two of the eveing meals also. Would definately stay there again if we ever re-visit Malta
“My rating”
The hotel is good value for money, although it is a bit dated it is nice and clean. Where the hotel is situated is a good location, come out of the hotel and turn left you can walk along the boardwalk towards St Julian bay – where you’ll find loads of small places to eat and drink. Turn right out of the hotel and you can again find loads of good places to eat and drink – all around a great location out of the action but near it if you want that sort of thing. The hotel breakfast was nothing special but certainly welcomed, to be honest with so much to see and do – who wants to stay in the hotel for anything apart from sleep. One little moan was the only TV channel to watch in English was BBC news ! Clubbing in Malta is not like the UK – the clubs are packed and very little room for dancing, after about 12.30pm all the younger crowd go home and then things do get a little better but not much. Malta is a lovely place to go and ill defiantly be going back soon.
“Shame about the weather”
When we arrived at the hotel and got out of the taxi we were almost blown over by the storm force winds and the windows looked as if they had not been cleaned for about 10 years along with all the other buildings in Sliema but it was all due to an anticyclone off Africa which lasted 2 days.As soon as it had blown itself out everything was cleaned and we saw the hotel as it should be. Very friendly staff, good location, good food and those 1950's buses pass every few mins to all over the island.
“Great location”
Overall a very good hotel and helpful staff. Good room, good selection of food for breakfast. Would not recommend evening meals at the hotel as the food from the help yourself buffet was spoilt through being left too long in the warming pans.
“Bon rapport qualité-prix”
“Great location”
My best friend and I were concerned about previous reviews but on arrival we were welcomed. Initially we were sent to the wrong room but was most satisfied when transfered to the front sea view we had payed for. The view was amazing. The room was very clean but in need of refurbishment, however this did not concern us as we only slept and washed there as so much to see on the island. linen and towels changed daily and air con a blessing as was 39 degrees. The rooftop pool was really nice and the morning buffet breakfast had a good selection. would recommend this hotel as a base to explore the island.
