Great hotel, friendly staff and close to the beach. The restaurant had a different theme every evening with the staff dressed to suit. We particularly liked the German themed night, it was a great laugh with German drinking songs as entertainment. The hotel guests are predominantly German with only a very few English couples when we were there. Everyone speaks to you in German first. However, everyone friendly and we did not feel out of place. The bar staff really went out of their way to be helpful. Although there were a few younger couples this hotel is frequented by those aged 40 plus.

Great experience in a great little harbour town in mallorca. Manager phoned to make appointment and then met us to give us keys. No hassles, as advertised with two bedrooms, wifi, full kitchen, washer, AC and even convenient undergrond parking. Big balcony with a view over the harbour. Great experience close to wonderful beaches. Grocery store and lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

1. Pristine setting in a raised valley looking into the ancient old town and mountain sides among vineyards. 2. Classic spacious rooms (by American standards). 3. Delightful multi-lingual staff. 4. Amazing food: (i) Included breakfast every morning was amazing - not just the typical Euro classics of bread, cheese, meats, etc., but also the local specialties. (ii) Payed cooked dinner was delicious and just as good as restaurant quality. 5. Outstanding estate wines and intimate vineyard/winery setting. 6. Convenient location to the old town by foot (makes a good 20 min. walk), and easy location to explore the nearby wine regions.

We spent two nights at the hotel and were really pleased with the location which was very central for shopping and sightseeing as we were able to walk to almost everything. Being so central it was a little noisy but to be expected with it being on a main street. The staff were really helpful and the room was clean, comfortable and had an excellent bathroom. The best thing was the rooftop bar and sundeck. Fabulous views over the city out towards the sea and a great place for pre or post dinner drinks! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay there.

We travelled with our two-year old son and were looking for somewhere 'off the beaten track' yet relatively close to beach, shops, restaurants etc. Son Siurana was an ideal location. The property combines the convenience of a hotel with self-catering facilities which is perfect for families with young children.

I'd never come across a hotel which gets only glowing reviews wherever you read about it, so was pleasantly surprised when we were able to get 6 nights in August at Es Castell.
I'm happy to confirm that everyone was right - this is a delightful holiday destination at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains..
James and his staff pay great attention to detail in order to help their guests relax. In particular, the 4 course dinners accompanied by excellent local wines, were of a high standard.
The garden area is a great place to relax, with the well stocked honesty bar around the corner, and the goat's and sheep's bells often the only sound to be heard.

Can Verdera is an exceptional hotel in a lovely, relaxing location.
Fornalutx is a sleepy Mallorcan village which offers a lovely refuge for a few days' R&R. There are about 8 restaurants offering lovely local food, a square with a couple of bars/cafes, and that's about it. The views are stunning and the town itself is an absolute gem.
The hotel is located very centrally and 2 minutes' walk from the main square. We found it a perfect location for a 3-night stay - lots of sun, food, drink and relaxation.
I couldn't fault the hotel or service - the breakfast is fresh with lovely orange juice, bread hams and cheeses; the drinks are not too expensive and the staff can't do enough to help you. It has a serene, spa-like feel to it and we left feeling completely revitalised.
I would recommend the hotel to couples and those looking for a relaxing getaway. It is not great for those looking for a busy nightlife or perhaps families without a car.
