Very convenient and comfortable
A good hotel, very conveniently located on top of the train station. Clean, spacious, and good customer service. Beds comfortable and rooms quiet. A little dated, but well maintained and they were generous with toiletries. Breakfast was OK.

The property was fine. Very clean and modern. However buyer beware: there is no free parking even though it was advertised on Expedia as such. I contacted Expedia to complain, but of course they did not accept responsibility for false advertising. This is the last booking I’ll make through this wretched app.

Clean and convenient
I stay in Takasaki about 6 times per year on business. Metropolitan is my preferred hotel by far. It is IN the train station. That means easy shinkansen ride into Tokyo, and restaurants/shops a few meters from the hotel; a nice bonus in bad weather or when you are really tired. Very clean, but a little dated. Decent Japanese style breakfast with a few Western options.

Great Location
Great location in Takasaki Station makes eating and shopping very convenient. There is even a Starbucks nearby. The room was well appointed and immaculate.

Hotel in convenient central station location. Room small, but sufficient - good value for the money. Excellent shopping location between Kanazawa/Nagano and Tokyo! Room clean, breakfast good and staff friendly also. Would recommend.

Thumbs Up for Hotel Metropolitan Takasaki
Stayed 3 nights while in Takasaki for a wedding. Good sized room. Shower over bath could be a problem for those with mobility issues. Great shower pressure. Polite staff. Great service - asked for an iron & ironing board and it was delivered to the room within minutes! Only negative would be that the mattress was a little hard for our liking. Hotel is part of the Takasaki railway complex, but we heard no rail noise, except for a steam train that went past twice on the Sunday. Lots of eateries and shopping within the railway complex, so right on the doorstep.

a clean convenient hotel. no bells or whistles. basic asian buffet breakfast. small but clean rooms and bathroom. good amenities. fridge, but you have to stock it yourself. quiet. main draw is convenience and price. cant beat access to train station, restaurants in on-site mall as well as walking distance.

An excellent hotel, would stay again here on our next visit, ideal location centre of the city,over the train station (you don't hear the trains) with ease of access to public transport, trains buses etc. the hotel was excellent, breakfast looked good but mainly suitable for Japanese palate, twin room was on the small side with each bed against the wall otherwise very clean and comfortable. hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. One very nice feature was the room handy (mobile phone with free local calls and some countries and free wifi) this was available to take with you on your travels.

Best hotel in central Takasaki
We're often in Takasaki for business, hotel metropolitan is our preferred accommodation. The rooms are a reasonable size by Japanese standards and the service is consistently good.

Very convenient hotel with helpful staff.
This hotel is suitable for 'business' trips. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for a Japanese hotel. Amenities were good. The hotel allowed me to store my luggage there the day before I checked in, which allowed me to avoid having to 'haul' my heavy luggage to another hotel I was booked into the day before.

Fantastic location in train/bus station and shopping center. Right in downtown for more shopping and restaurants. Hotel is great - clean and decent sized room. Very capable staff. Fantastic price!

Beautiful hotel near downtown train station
The hotel is located directly adjacent to the Takasaki train station. Very convenient. There is a very nice indoor shopping mall, as well as a variety of food and coffee shops. All located in the same building as the hotel. The hotel staff was excellent. Extremely courteous and helpful. The room was very nice with a great view of the city. Highly recommended!!!
