“Superb treatment at Melia Galgos!”
Wonderful hotel. Front Desk spoke good English. Wish that they had on site parking, but overall treatment and hotel was excellent. Great value for the money and in a great neighbourhood! Will stay there again and again!
“Fantastic location!”
This was our first visit to Madrid and we were really impressed with how easy it was to get around. The hotel is in a quiet street but just around the corner from plenty of great eating places, handy to the metro station and main bus route. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic - all in all it was a great place to stay and we would definitely recommend it.
“The Knightsbridge of Madrid”
The hotel was very nice and the staff friendly and efficient. I would agree it is 4 star. The room was well kitted out and the breakfast was sound with a wide variety of foods and a pleasant dining area. The surrounding area is pleasant with bars and eateries nearby, and the area feels safe.
“Excellent place to stay in Madrid”
Great hotel! Will stay there again next time I go to Madrid.
“The perfect location”
Melia Galgos is the best!!!
“Great Service”
great service and amenities juts a lil far from Chueca where I spent most of my time
“Good Stay, Great Breakfast”
Good front desk help. Great breakfast. Make sure to buys it while booking with Expedia, otherwise it will be too expensive if you pay for it at the hotel. Room was clean and met our needs. Remember, you're there to see the city, not the hotel.
“good and clean place”
Melia Galgos is a very good hotel, located at about 45 min walk to the Madrid centre-town, or a few subway stops. Nice walk to the centre (I never took the subway). There are plenty of restaurants around (check the little streets around the hotel). I recommend the Spanish ones in particular, where with 20 Euros two persons can have a decent meal and a bottle of wine. While not the perfect location for touristic visit, Melia Galgos is good place to stay, especially when in a business trip.
“Good Choice”
This hotel was a "Good Choice" for our stay. It was in a quite area and the location was very near the Amercian Embassy . The satff was friendly and the front desk was very accomodating.
“Would definitely go back!”
Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, staff very friendly. Went there on a 3 day visit wth my grandson. As we used the Metro to get around (which incidentally, is fantastic, cheap, reliable and very, very clean), it's quite a walk from the nearest station so bear this in mind if you're doing the same. The breakfast buffet is impressive, and allows you to fuel up for the day ahead. My only gripe was there was no kettle in the room for making a drink, but that's probably just me being English!! Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

Salamanca - Serrano, Madrid, Spain: North of the Retiro, Salamanca has always been an affluent neighbourhood. Its grid-like streets and beautiful houses sprang up at the end of the 19th century, escaping from the old city walls. Today, ladies who lunch drop into its spas and designer shops, many of which line the long, sleek Calle Serrano. The National Library and the Museum of Archaeology are close to the Plaza de Colón.
