“My Mini Madrid Mansion”

Had an excellent, luxurious stay here at what I called my little Madrid Mansion. The upstairs Terrance was also beautiful although there was nobody serving at the bar when I went up for a drink...perhaps it was siesta time? Overall great experience. Staff was very helpful and try could all speak fluent English. Would definitely return :)

“very nice, excellant location”

Very pleasant, clean, rooms: helpful,english-speaking staff: the Prado and other significant art galleries were 2 pleasant blocks away. As well, the double decker,on-off bus stops right across the street from the hotel. Also enjoyed dinner in their restaurant. One negative for us was loud music from roof-top bar until 2 a.m. (We are however in our 60's, and it was Sataurday night)

“Scuzzy neighbourhood”

For a four-star hotel, De Las Letras was acceptable. The front desk service, however, was minimal to terrible. My roommate had several run-ins with the front desk over simple questions. She was made to feel inconsequential. The lounge service on the first floor, however, was very good. When we first arrived, we went for a walk in the surrounding neighbourhood - our first impressions were not good - dirty, hawkers and peddlers everywhere, hookers also quite numerous.
