“Very nice”
Very nice hotel. I first didn't like the fact that the hotel didn't offer internet access in the room but they had it in the lobby. That turn out to be very nice as we then came down and spent time looking at the window, having a drink and enjoying other people there.
“I would go back”
As a first time visitor to Madrid the hotel provided a convenient location with good accessability to the major sites while being far enough away from the bustle of the inner city. A short walk to the railway station was a bonus as we were continuing our travels by rail. A tip also, if coming back through Madrid by rail leave extra baggage at the station instead of lugging it around the countryside. The hotel staff were friendly although not a lot to offer re tours etc. and the rooms were as you expect from a 4 star hotel
“Très bien”
Bon acceuil, bien placé, très professionnels
“Good little hotel, great city”
Hotel Carlton is a good litte hotel and priced fairly. The rooms were small but very clean with a nice bathroom. A few of the rooms have a small balcony. Walking distance from all of the sites of Madrid. I would recommend this hotel as a great option at a fair price.
“Great hotel in a great location”
I picked this hotel due to it's proximity to the train station. It was a great choice. Location was good, room was clean and well appointed. The television had a couple of news channels in English (appreciated). Only downside is that the free WiFi was in the lobby, but even that was a comfortable place to hang out. My only complaint would be the three steps going down you had to manipulate your suitcases over to get into the lobby. But if that is all I have to gripe about, it's got to be a good place!
“Brilliant”
Wonderful - they were fantastico
“Good value, breakfast buffet excellent”
Room is clean and spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom clean, breakfast buffer (which is included in our reservation) is excellent. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood with easy access to subway, but quite far away from the busy town center. Suitable for family travel but not if you like to be close to actions. A sports bar/restaurant is just around the corner that serves really local food - waiter don't even speak English very well. Food is OK, not great, but if you want to, you can sit at the bar and watch football (soocer) with the locals.
“Nice surprise”
We arrived at the Carlton Hotel after 1am because of our evening flight from Edinburgh. We were welcomed and told that our double room had been changed to a suite - and that he hoped we didn't mind! We always like a quiet room and although our room was right on the main boulevard, it was wonderfully quiet. We enjoyed two pampered nights. Excellent.
“Viajera Bendecida. Go back again.”
Excelente, very clean, safe and confortable. This is my 2nd time around Spain, I was in others hotels. I'm very satisfied with this option this time. Very close to Atocha terminal, neighborhood safe, restaurant at cross street, very nice, food service very late. Thanks, Expedia, for offer good places. I always look first at this company. So far I traveled 5 times to Europe. I have never had any trouble an any hotel I choose from Expedia.

Area:
Atocha, Madrid, Spain: South of the centre, Atocha is Madrids largest train station with fast trains to Andalusia and, more surprisingly, tropical gardens (with a pleasant café) in the old terminal building. The Museum of Anthropology is opposite and, over the Ronda de Atocha, the Reina Sofia art museum has benefited enormously from a bold, modern expansion. Nearby, Teatro Circo Price is a traditional circus and ideal for children.
