“great hotel”
very nice clean hotel and very friendly polite staff
“Nice, quiet place”
Beautiful small town on the Madeira north coast. Not a place for a party-goer, but if you want to get some rest it's brilliant :) The town: Great Natural Rock Pools - I actually prefer those pools to the beach in Calheta - less crowded, cleaner water, great fun swimming between the rocks, next to the huge waves breaking just behind the wall. A couple of good fish restaurants - nothing particularly fancy, but you will get good food and wine there. Hotel itself: Looks pretty much like a brand new one. Nice and clean. Room service doesn't come too early ;) Breakfasts are simple but good. Sea view rooms have a balcony with table and chairs, overviewing the rock pools. Only drawback - no facilities like kettle/frigde/cups/anything in the rooms - it would be nice to have some coffee on that balcony :)
“Very Friendly Hotel”
We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Euro Moniz and were very impressed by this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was large and the view was fantastic. It was very fairly priced. It was a great base from which to explore Madeira. Although Porto Moniz is very small there are quite a few resturants to try and we were not disapointed by any of them.
“bonne situation”
très bien situé,face aux piscines naturelles. garage disponible, agréable petite piscine mais jacuzi peu pratique.A recommander.
“Very helpful staff”
Nice, clean maintained hotel-good value for money. We were in a suite & that did make a difference. Big balcony & views. Beautiful very small town. Too cold to swim in natural rock pools & so really nothing to do in this town. There aren't even any shops, & you don't even see any people other than when the tour buses pull in. I'm sure it's diffferent in summer.
“Nous y retournons dès que possible,”
belle hotel avec un personnel tres gentil et a l ecoute
“très bien situé, avec parking souterrain”
hotel situé à 100m des piscines naturelles (eau assez froide, beaucoup de vent) accès facile, avec parking souterrain ville calme, même en juillet
“Adequate, but good value”
Its not expensive and you get what you pay for. Adequate sums it up. Bathroom fittings all loose and fell down frequently, but that became a source of fun. Swimming pool the size of a postage stamp and hopeless if a family already there, great camera lens used to photograph it for the brochure. But a great location and very willing staff, advice, go for the suite rooms !
“Great getaway would go back”
I booked the Euro Moniz Hotel as I wanted a getaway from city life, but was quite worried by the distance from the airport to the hotel. These worries disappeared when I rang the hotel and they arranged cheap transport there and back for my party. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although I was the only English person there, they spoke fantastic English. Porto Moniz is a great escape offering good sight seeing and walks. The local bus is very cheap and efficient. We decided not to rent a car, but didn't feel trapped as we could get wherever we wanted for a coupe of Euros. Funchal is about a 1.30hrs away by bus, but its direct, as is Sao Vincent etc. The local restaurants offer a great variety of fresh seafood; the Shrimps in garlic are a MUST! Very reasonably prices with good service. The room was clean and tidy with a constant supply of hot water, the staff were fantastic, access to post office, supermarket and amenities within 5 mins walk. Would visit again. Thank you for a great relaxed stay.
“Good Value for Money”
This was marked as a 3* hotel which was accurate. Staff were really friendly and the hotel was clean and fairly recently refurbished. Room and bathroom were of a good size. Only negative was that we had two single beds pushed together rather than a double so that was a bit of a let down. We also had breakfast included in our rate which was good for the money. Cereals, fruit, cheese, cold meats, bread and rolls and egg, bacon and sausages all served buffet style. Overall I would say this hotel was good value for money.
