Damp room, no light in bathroom, mediocre food, bit shabby overall. No one at reception at 08.00 hrs when we needed to check out. Staff arrived at ten past just in time for us to leave for the airport.

There is a beautiful and stunning view as soon as you step out the room! It’s a quiet area and staff are wonderful. I will definitely come back again, I went with my husband only and it was beautiful, will definitely bring my kids. Only downside i would say is the WiFi, the WiFi is quiet poor. Other than that! It was perfect.

Quaint, but tired, probably great in the summer
Lovely views but definitely need a car as it not near anything else. We enjoyed our one night stay, but a 2nd night would have been one too many. Staff were pleasant enough. Food was good but not great and a little expensive compared with other restaurants. You may need warm clothes, which we have never experienced on the island and we have been 15 times now!

a beautiful relaxing place
we have just returned from holiday stayed 2 weeks . the little houses are really nice overlooking the sea and mountains . very quiet and relaxing place . not alot around you do need transport if you want to get about . if your just looking for chill time . then this is the place to go the staff are so lovely especially Isabela . the rooms were cleaned everyday . the food is great alot to choice from at resonable price . loved the holiday so much we will be back again real soon ,

Nice hotel, if a bit dated. Could do with a make over. A bit too remote with lots of serious bends on the road from Funchal to contend with - 28 in fact in the last 10 kms and that's only counting the serious ones! Staff very accommodating and friendly. We arrived after 9:00 pm on our first day, just after they had stopped serving food, but it was no bother. They cooked a meal each for my wife and I and we had the full choice of the menu! Rooms are very quaint, but need a make over. Definitely needs WiFi in all the rooms and not just in the bar and restaurant!

Amazing views and breathtaking sunsets
We stayed at Cabanas de S. Jorge for two nights and it was amazing. It is so worth it just for the views. We arrived by car, free parking was available just in front of your own little house. The staff were nice but didn't talk much. The restaurant already closes at 10 and the people weren't very happy when we arrived at 9 at the start but in the end it was amazing food for a good value! The breakfast was nice aswell. And the little houses amazing! Overall I would definetely recommend it! Moreover it's a good place to get to diferent parts of the island very fast by car and in the meantime being surrounded by amazing nature/ breathtaking sunsets and steep cliffs.

Cliff top location. Bungalow accommodation
Super location, great area for cliff walking, particularly Calhau. Food a bit expensive, found cheaper and better food in Sao Jorge. Accommodation Isolated and very quiet. This was the least favourite of all the locations we stayed at. Not as friendly as the others we stayed in, but still a good and different experience.

Fantastic stay
From the moment I entered to the hotel with my wife we were received with a warm welcome which is Great customer service and well-mannered staff in general. The hotel was great in general, the room was comfortable however, could have done with an extra heater. The scenery was like an artistic frame, calm area and good amenities. Thank you Cabanas Hotel

Beautiful location
We did not spend a lot time in the room, and would not recommend it for that purpose but the cabanas are quirky and served as a good base for exploring that part of the island. I would definitely request one with a sea view - as the others may lack a view. Very friendly service at restaurant and front-desk.

STUNNING LOCATION!!
The hotel is charming...the cabanas' style is unique (therefore offers you more privacy then the usual rooms) ...the staff is extremely friendly...the breakfast is various and generous...the food's quality is very good...but nothing is as stunning as the view of the northern coast: spectacular!!! It is the best location for people who like tranquility and peace, who really love the fragrant aromas of the flowers, the vibrant colors of the lush vegetation, the astonishing view of the Ocean...for people who just want to relax somewhere off the beaten track.

Lovely north coast
We were pleased to be on the spectacular north coast away from the congestion around Funchal, but the road is narrow and difficult, especially for British drivers. The hotel was nice but needed to repair a lot of water damage to all the buildings from moisture/condensation build up. The climate is always humid, but there was no ventilation anywhere and evidence of mildew and plaster degradation was widespread. Everything was very clean but there was still a smell of mildew in all the buildings. Being winter it was quite chilly and there was no central heating anywhere. Our room had only a portable electric radiator which was not sufficient even though we left it on constantly. Perhaps because of all the moisture the bed constantly felt clammy. The food in the restaurant was very tasty, well-prepared, and well-presented. This would be a great place if they fixed the moisture problems and if one could see the view from the rooms.

Die Lage und Aussicht sind einmalig, auch die Bauweise mit den kleinen Häuschen. Aber das war es dann. Der Bungalow war kalt(ca.16Grad C.) und feucht, die Betten erst nach 3 Tagen nicht mehr klamm. Die Elektroheizung reichte nicht aus,auf Anfrage erhielten wir dann eine 2. Heizung, dann wurde es besser.Der Frühstücksraum war ebenfalls kalt,nur mit 2 Pulli benutzbar. Es hatte keinen Kühlschrank im Bungalow. Der Ein-Ausgang der Analge war nur über ein grosses elktrisches Tor, Auto Zufahrt, möglch. Die Rezeption war am Anreisetag besetzt. Der Pool war nicht nutzbar,schmutzig und das Dach fehlte teilweise. Die Sauberkeit des Bungalows war grenzwertig inkl. Geschirr+Besteck beim Frühstück, welches zwar ok war aber erst ab 9.00 verfügbar. Wir waren zwei mal kurz davor uns ein anderes Hotel zu suchen. Weden dort nie mehr übernachten. Bitte um eine Antwort ihrerseits. Was hiflt mir mein "Platinium Member" wenn mir so etwas so schön beschrieben wird und ich deshalb doch reinfall? Me gustó la citación y la goma original de las cabanas. No me gustó la humedad y frío que hacía dentro de las cabanas, y además no tenían WiFi, pero tampoco podíamos entrar en Internet por la falta de cobertura. Sólo en el bar de las cabanas podíamos conectarnos

Die Rezeption ist kaum besetzt, man muss immer irgendwo jemanden suchen. auch die Klingel an der Rezeption nutzt gar nichts, keine Reaktion. der Mann der uns empfangen hat war sehr freundlich, die Frau hingegen recht barsch. die Wohnhäuschen sind recht runtergekommen, es wird versucht mit Farbe vieles gut zu machen, Betten unbequem, es gehört vieles gemacht.

Hotel qui meriterait d etre rénové, les cabanes sont rustiques et pas en bon état c est dommage. Petit déjeuner correct et jolie vue de l hôtel, attention cependant vous devez être véhiculé si vous souhaitez allez au restaurant ou autres.

Hübsches Village in ruhiger Lage
Das Cabanas de S. Jorge Village liegt im Norden der Insel ca. 30 Fahrminuten vom Flughafen entfernt. Es ist ein nettes Hotel mit kleinen Bungalows, hat aber auch Zimmer im Haupttrakt des Hotels. Die Bungalows sind einfach ausgestattet aber sauber. Das Frühstück wird im Restaurant eingenommen. Es werden Brötchen, Toast, Butter, Marmelade, Honig, Schinken und Käse angeboten. Es gibt auch immer frisches Obst und Obstsalat sowie Joghurt. Meist wird auch Kuchen angeboten. Frühstücksflocken stehen ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Leider gab es beim Frühstück nicht wirklich Abwechslung. Der schöne Garten des Cabanas de S. Jorge Village lädt zum flanieren ein. Der Blick aufs Meer ist wirklich schön. Den überdachten Pool haben wir nicht genutzt, da wir täglich unterwegs waren, um die Insel zu erkunden. Das Cabanas de S. Jorge Village ist ein Hotel, das ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis bietet, aber nur für Touristen geeignet ist, die mobil sind, da es sehr abgelegen liegt.

Wohl nur für den Kurzaufenthalt im Sommer geeignet
Bei Ankunft vom Kellner der Bar empfangen, der für den Hotelbereich, wie er sagte, nicht zuständig ist, da die Chefin in der Bar beschäftigt war. Der Bungalow war bei unserer Ankunft feucht und kalt, entsprechender war der Geruch. Eine alte, verrotete Heizung sollte helfen, sorgte in der Nacht jedoch für Atempropleme, wurde nach Hinweis hierauf am nächsten Morgen vom Housekeeping ausgetauscht. Das Frühstück im kalten Restaurant!!! bestand aus: Butterkäse, Wurst, Pappbrötchen,immer gleicher Sorte, Toastbrot (Toaster nicht zu stark einstellen, sonst gibt es Kohle), Orangensaft welcher nie eine echte Orange gesehen und 3 Müslispendern.

Wat een teleurstelling.
Het ziet er allemaal op foto's maar ook in persoon prachtig uit, maar schijn bedriegt. Ik had in mijn bungalow een insecten probleem met mieren e.d. op de grond maar ook op de bed. Het is begrijpelijk dat het tot op zekere hoogte onmogelijk is om insecten buiten de deur te houden, maar na een klacht aan expedia die ook werd doorgestuurd naar het hotel heb ik geen insecten meer gezien. Wel jammer dat er pas iets wordt gedaan na het indienen van een klacht aan expedia. Daarnaast had ik tijdens mijn 2 laatste nachten geen elektriciteit, dus ook geen verwarming terwijl het buiten 10-12 graden is. Er zijn ook geen manieren om personeel te bereiken, tijdens nachturen of in geval van nood. De redenering waarom er geen elektriciteit in mijn kamer was, was ook zeer onduidelijk. Want overdag was er niets aan de hand, alleen tijdens nachttijden was er opeens geen elektriciteit meer (wanneer het meest nodig is, i.v.m. de verwarming). En ook alleen bij de meeste bungalows was er geen elektriciteit, want de lichten van het main gebouw deden het wel prima. Doe jezelf een plezier en boek ergens anders een hotel. Want 3 sterren is het zeker niet waard, aangezien ik betere ervaringen heb gehad in 2 sterren verblijven.

Jeżeli lubisz zjeść na śniadanie płatki owsiane/kukurydziane to będziesz zadowolony, w przeciwnym wypadku szwedzki stół to kpina. Nie ma ani jajecznicy, ani wędlin, tylko żółty ser i dżemy. W pokoju i w restauracji syf - pajeczyny, kurz. Do hotelu prowadzi kręta górska droga, co dyskwalifikuje go jako wypadową bazę. Na szczeście spędziliśmy tu tylko jedną noc. Za te cene można znaleźć lepsze miejsce.

Déçus car nous pensions trouver une piscine extérieure colle indique sur le descriptif et il n y avait qu une petite piscine pas envie d y aller vu la vétusté. Le repas pris le soir est cher il est préférable de trouver des petits restaurants typiques est beaucoup moins cher colle nous lnavons trouve. A l arrivée on nous a demandé de payer en espèce car la machine ne marche pas.

Bon rapport qualité/prix pour visiter le Nord Est
L'hôtel est un bon rapport qualité prix. Les chambres sont très originales car il s'agit de petites huttes et c'est très agréable. On dispose d'une certaine intimité puisque les huttes ne sont pas collées. On peut profiter d'une vue sur l'océan pour certaines d'entre elles. L'espace commun est très fleuri et bien entretenu ce qui ajoute au charme des chambres. Seul point négatif, en pleine saison (autour du 10 août), une seule personne est attribuée au service du petit déjeuner. A une seule personne, il est difficile d'approvisionner le buffet continental et de dresser les tables après le départ des clients précédents ce qui fait qu'on ne trouve rapidement plus de place ! Malgré tout son bon vouloir, nous avons attendu 20 min avant de disposer d'une table où pouvoir déjeuner... A part ce point négatif lié à de l'organisation, je recommande cet hôtel car il a un charme vraiment attractif !!!
