Grandad and grandson days away.
Everything went well. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant facilities were very good with good choice of food and excellent quality.

The gotel is advetised as Horel Bastipn Central it is definately not ventral it cost 16 euro for a taxi to the station which is in the centre we yried to check in at 15.00hrs we eventuallly got our room key at 5pm ubacceptable . They charged top rates but gave a terrable service.

Hotel was dirty. Pillows were very poor quality. internet was very weak. Comforter was too short. No coffee, sugar or cream packages in the room. Staff was accommodating. Overall, a poor experience

The staff at this hotel are super nice and welcoming! The rooms were clean and it was just perfect for one night stay. Its also in a great location where everything is walkable and there are buses running all the time. Great place! Would highly recommend for short stays. Room was exactly as pictured as well

They shocked us!! We prepaid through Expedia and i did nt have money with myself but for check out they said we have to pay directly to the hotel and Expedia will free our prepaid!! And we paid for parking in extra!!!!

Mixed feeling
Very basic facilities compared to a 4* hotel. Rooms are small, bedside tables even smaller, enough for a water bottle and mobile. Toilets are ok (funny thing is extra toilet paper is kept almost next to the ceiling). Not enough place for wardrobe to hang or keep stuff. Coffee table has no plate, no glasses. Coffee cups are used as holders for coffee capsules, creamer and sugar. Property is old....even needs painting. I must add, the staff is very helpful though. If you are single or couple....this place will do. Not for a family. The best part is, its like 3 min walking away from square and maybe 15 min from station. Bus stop is right outside of the hotel.

This hotel is in need of updating the room which was supposed to be deluxe was very dark gloomy very little lighting decor and furniture in very poor condition. Bathroom was good towels were worn out. Corridors carpets dirty dust behind open fire doors disgusting. Reception desk under manned at busy time such as check out. Will definitely not use this chain of hotels again.

€381 Bastion Hotel fury
Having travelled to watch Andre Reiu in Maastricht the Bastion Hotel had increased their usual nightly €69-€120 price to an eye watering €381. I was aware that hotel rooms were extremely hard to come by but I did not expect a dirty room, a bathroom with mould growing on the ceiling accompanied by a strong mould smell. The receptionist did nothing to rectify the situation and was in fact rude and just didn’t care. I am absolutely disgusted that at such a price the hotel was not even clean and the front of house staff’s attitude was just atrocious. The trip was supposed to be a Christmas treat after last years event was cancelled due to Covid, but instead the accommodation just ruined the whole trip. I cannot believe that the Bastion Hotel Is advertised as a 4 star hotel, I would not have even given it one star. It is morally wrong to charge such a price for such atrocious accommodation. The hotel was not fit for purpose & could even be seen as a health hazard for anyone staying long term or with any breathing issues. I am disgusted.

No towels to start with. The room floor needed sweeping. The receptionist was very good on booking in, but she should have had more help. Breakfasts were very good.

Had to wait in a queue for more than an hour to check in. No bath towels in room and plastic glasses split. No complimentary water as web site and no free parking as web site. It was 15 euros per day. 5 star prices for 3 star hotel in my opinion. Breakfast at 15 Euros was adequate but nothing special. Comfortable beds but room was dark and needed refreshed. The only positive thing I would say about the hotel was it’s close Proximity to everything.

Asked for an iron and ironing board but after five hours none brought. Ask for fresh towels. None brought. Had to go to reception to obtain them. Not all channels on TV working. Cleanliness not good. Only one person on reception most of the day so long wait to be attended to.

While this hotel is situated just a short walk from the city center, it is the friendly and helpful staff (including the manager) that make this hotel a great place to stay for a night or a week. Typical Dutch breakfast combined with a decent dinner menu. Clean, air conditioned rooms with safe and secure parking for one’s vehicle if needed.

Nice hotel with room for improvement
The reception was warm but I have a few concerns 1) The fridge in the room did not work 2) The breakfast buffe should be attended and refilled more often 3) My last comment should probably concern hotels.com When I seracged for a hotel I filtered those with free parking. But it turned out (after booking an arrival) that the parking was not free. I have to mention that the hotel also failed to inform me after asking for a parking place

We were very comfortable and had a nice stay. However the check-in was not so nice. We booked via Expedia and made it clear that we would be traveling with a five-year-old and a two-year-old. When we arrived, the person at the desk told us that we could not stay in the room with four people because it was not safe. He would not explain why it wasn’t safe but kept repeating that it wasn’t safe. He eventually alles the manager and said it would be ok “just this once”. If it is not allowed or safe for two adults and two young kids to stay in one room then please change your room parameters on Expedia and other search sites.

On arrival we were kept waiting for a very long time for a member of staff to arrive who could actually check us in. At check-out we had to insist that we had not had the drinks that we going to be charged for. The room was pleasant, bathroom good and it was nice to be given a kettle so we could make coffee in the morning.

Great location, comfortable bed, nice shower. The person who checked us in was very brusque and gave us very little information about the hotel. The room was very dark, even more so due to the broken lamp. When we told the guy at the front desk, he looked at us unbelievingly and asked us if we were “sure about that”, twice. “Yes, the bulb is hanging off of the side of it.” It was not replaced. Morning staff much friendlier.

We had a room at the ground floor next to the street. Sometimes you can hear a car driving by or people talking in the street.The room is comfortable and clean. The staff at the reception is professional and friendly.

amazing stay in a charming city
I loved every minute of our stay at the Bastion hotel, walking distance to every where whether is a restaurant cafe's or sight seeing even the bus stage.. near to the airport as well.. although our only concern were the taxi fees as its expensive for a short trip but over all all was positive, the hotel very comfy cosy and clean

Falta de atenção na recepção
A recepção primeiro deu cartão errado que não abria a porta do quarto, também não deu informações precisas sobre o uso do estacionamento, que fica há uns cem metros e que não dava acesso com o tíquete do parking, tivemos que retornar ao hotel para orientação e ainda assim não funcionou, o próprio funcionário do estacionamento nos ajudou, transtornos que podem ser evitados.
