“Avis Hotel”
Excellent Hotel à un prix exceptionnel
“Excellent hotel-apartment”
Terrific little self contained apartment with views into a charming square in the old town. Wifi was a bit uncertain - but this may have been because of the medieval connections!
“Beautiful! Right in the middle of the action.”
The hotel is right in the centre of Lyon with lots going on around. Many restaurants and cafes. The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was really clean, with a view on to the town makes you feel right in the middle of the action. We got a great deal on the price with Expedia on the dates we arrived because it is known to be pricier than what we paid.
“Old and Modern in one package”
Hotel la Tour Rose is in an old (pink, as the name suggests) building in the heart of old Lyons. The public parts are very modern. The rooms are decked out in silk and named after the silk company who decorated it, and are comfortable and richly appointed with silk and oil paintings. A slight criticism is the common tendency in France to over-design. Actual faults : the bathroom sliding door was too stiff and heavy for my wife to move without assistance, and the room lighting while atmospheric was utterly inadequate after dark. So, all in all, great location, lovely room, rack rates very expensive, but via Expedia very affordable.
“Appartement”
On a réservé un appartement pour 4. La présentation / qualité n'a rien à voir avec les chambres d'hôtel en photo, c'est beaucoup beaucoup plus modeste. L'hôtel nous a prévenus juste après la réservation donc pas de véritable surprise en arrivant. (on s’en doute vu le prix par rapport aux chambres). L’emplacement de l’hôtel, l’accueil, le garage (en supplément) sont très biens.
