“I will use on my next trip”
The St Joseph, check in was prompt, room was very nice considering this is a 3 star.Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold foods .Location, its a 15 minute walk to downtown Luxor and apart from taxi touts was a pleasant excersise. Our room had a great view over the nile to the mountains ,only a water tower marred it slightly!Rooftop Cafe was nice with good tourist food and cold beer!Nice swimming pool.I felt sorry for people staying over the road at a much more expensive place!Definatly use again.
“not luxurious but quite clean”
We stayed at this hotel from the 14th to the 28th August 2006 and had a wonderful stay the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept clean and tidy towels were changed every day as well as bedsheets. Our room keeper was Gorge and he would make different things with the bedspread cobras, scorpions, crocodiles and pyramids. The food was clean and quite reasonably priced and the hotel is situated close to some quite good shopping.
“Will recommend this any day”
A friendly, happy hotel. The food was excellent and the value even better. They even held my bag for me for 4 days without charge!!! Would go back any time.
“Great value for money”
It was a pleasant surprise to find a 2* hotel which was so clean and well maintained. Our room on the 6th floor facing the Nile river was excellent. The serving staff and the front desk were very helpful as regards the hotel service as well as finding tourist guides, taxis etc.
“Nice place with good breakfasts”

“Pleasant hotel”
Room was cozy. Refrigerator kept drinks icy cold. Hotel is run as hotel not as a travel agency.
“bon rapport qualité/prix,”
Hotel de standing moyen mais bien tenu, équipement et entretien satisfaisant; le personnel est plutot sympatique; situation très centrale
“Great value”
Our two nights stay at the St. Joseph hotel were quite pleasant. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Great value for the cost. We would definitely stay there again.
“St Joseph Luxor Hotel”
The St Joseph Luxor Hotel had a good location in Luxor. I didn't care so much that our room rate quintupled for New Year's Eve when we had been staying for a week already at the hotel. I knew in advance but still didn't like it. There was tourist police stationed at the hotel 24/7 which made you feel a little more secure. The tourist police seemed to want to really be helpful to you. The roof top terrace had great views of the Nile and was a nice place to relax. The restaurant inside the hotel was good also. Nile view from our balcony was nice. Room was cold at night in December and we could find no heat control inside the room - however, we didn't request more blankets as we should have. Elevator was old small and didn't work all the time and so it was a bother walking the stairs to an upper floor room once in awhile. Almost all the guests at the hotel were from England but the hotel staff did not speak English as well as might have been expected. The hotel was rated a 3 star hotel (I have no idea by whom) and we had stayed in a 4 star hotel the previous week in Egypt. There was a huge difference between a 4 star and a 3 star hotel with a 3 star hotel being dramatically lower level compared to a 4 star hotel. Another couple told us exactly the same thing and had exactly the same experience. Nonetheless, the St Joseph was a good hotel to stay at for the price.
“Terrible experience”
Terrible service. Rooms were awful. Location is okay for Luxor temple -- still need to take a taxi so no real benefit of staying at this hotel
