“Very pleasant stay”
A bit out of town for some, but that suited us, and the free boat and shuttle bus, though infrequent, helped. Taxis are cheap in Egypt in any case. Food not spectacular but not bad either, and the buffet for the "Egyptian Night" was very good. Good pool, plus another for children and one for infants. Room comfortable, but lacked tea-making facilities and the TV was a bit naff. However, Luxor's attractions and the pleasant hotel grounds were reason enough not to need to spend much time in the room - bathroom and shower were fine. Staff always friendly and helpful.
“Peace in Luxor”
I spent one of the most peaceful time I ever had . It was such a wonderful quiet place to relax.
“A relaxing exploration”
We met a great cabbie who helped us tremendously in our explorations. And see the sites we did. Started our day very early to avoid some of the heat. Poolside by 2pm and relaxing. The hotel does need to change up the breakfast menu as it was the same daily. As for night life...they need to work on that aspect. Overall the service was very good and the staff very friendly and accomodating.
“Excellent Facilities”
We enjoyed staying here, the staff at reception did not seem to be expecting us when we arrived, but this was sorted out rapidly, after this we were extremely impressed with the range of leisure activities and choice of restaurants. The hotel is situated a few kilometres outside of Luxor, but is easily accessible by the free water bus and shuttle bus from the hotel. The staff were courteous, and fixed our air-conditioning when it stopped working within 10 minutes of contacting them.

“Superb Luxor hotel.”
The striking feature of Sofitel Karnak is the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff which we thought exceptional. The location of the hotel is very good and being outside Luxor it is a more relaxing environment. The hotel construction in a Moorish style is very appealing. The road leading to the hotel is currently being widened and leads from a busy area of town giving an initial slightly disconcerting impression which was immediately dispelled on arrival in the opulent hotel grounds.

Very clean and nice hotel. The staff was helpful and they all spoke English. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
“Good hotel, superb Nile views, disappointing food.”
Good hotel, reasonable price . Very helpful and efficient staff. Superb views of the Nile. Food could have been better, given the prices charged. I did not like some of the food at all. No footie channels in room TV ( for those football fanatics). Complimentary tea / coffee in the room appears to be rationed ( had to order it several times). Overall, a very relaxing stay. Not a 5*, but a good 4*.
“Excellent Value”
The hotel was an excellent hotel especially for the cost. Grounds were very well maintained and the amenities were extensive including a squash court.
“Great Pool”
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, but is still one of the nicest places to stay in Karnak/Luxor. The room was ok, no view, but was large and comfortable. The pool and pool area was fantastic. Plus, the view of the Nile could not be beat. I would definetly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Karnak/Luxur.
