“Greta Breakfast”
We stayed in the Mayneview, overlooking the town, great view. Small issue when we arrived, but that was sorted in no time. Hosts Paul & Sally very friendly and helpul. Would have to agree with everyone the breakfast is great, made fresh just for you. Far better than the larger more expensive hotel chains. Lovely touch to supply the free drinks and snacks as you want, and although no fridges in the rooms there is one on the landing available to put your own goods into. It really was like a home from home, children's games, dvd's to watch on the downstairs tv and books. There is a house cat which really does have the run of the house, so keep your door closed if you don't want it to wander in. On the downside though we found the room a little too cluttered for our liking, and once we had the third bed (rollaway) put in, it was a tight fit. The bathroom was small and the sink was outside in the main part of the room. For the British people reading this, it was along the lines of the victorian B & B in Tourqay Devon. Would we recomend the hotel, yes we would, there are more pro's than con's.
“Problems and misunderstandings outweighed the benefits”
We were greeted warmly. Then we looked at our room, up a steep flight of stairs, and discovered that the tub/shower was in the bedroom. It took away one complete window and mountain view and was extremely difficult to enter and exit b/c it was a high claw-foot tub. The room itself was too small to hold a tub and a king-size bed. The wife warmly assured us that if we needed anything it was OK to walk over to their next-door house and ask, but when I did that, the husband was put off by it. One breakfast was great, the other was very poor in quality. My husband and I have often stayed in B&Bs, but this one did not measure up.
